🤩" WOW!..... Is all of the action in this clip just awesome or what? It's just hard to believe that such incredible scenes are choreographed. Chinese Kung Fu is just spectacular. "
My 3 best favorite classic kung fu movies of Gordon Liu is "36th Chambers Of Shaolin","Return Of The 36th Chambers Of Shaolin" and "8 Diagram Pole Fighter" 👍🏿👏🏿🏯☯️🫸🏿🤛🏿🙏🏿
You're right - but don't leave out CHALLENGE OF THE NINJA, in which every day he has to fight one of his fight-loving Japanese wife's training instructors. Also a classic!
i remember watching this movie as a kid about 40 years ago and since then I have always been mindful to avoid getting into a fight with a guy pushing a cart of bamboo poles.
My training in martial arts is based on the 8 Directional Octagon. Linear, angles, circular. One technique in 8 direction. Moving to the open side. Right side, left side. Makes 16 movements. And changing starting points and first directional movement. The multiple of 8 is infinite. And more techniques and combination. One hell of a workout. To move in any direction at anytime with any technique.
@@inlinx and some franchises and things should be left alone once the end with no reboots, remakes, spin offs with characters' back stories and end when the should. ARE YOU LISTENING AND READING THIS KATHLEEN KENNEDY? WE DON'T WANT ANYBODY ELSE TO TAKE OVER FROM THE ORIGINAL INDIANA JONES!!!
The whole film is just amazing to watch. You see all the enduring trials the hero has to face as a monk. Gordon Liu is an absolute legend and it pisses me off there isn't cohesive information on whether not he is even alive right now. conflicting info says he died of cancer or he's still alive
Loved this one as a child and appreciate even more now. Top of my list with Kid w/ the Golden Arms and Masked Avengers. Oh yeah, and Chinese Super Ninjas.
never seen this film in it's native language, I have forever seen it dubbed...I'm interested in looking for it now sometimes the dubbing & the subtitles don't politically match..
Aaaah, yes, 80s action movies. They take enough cheese to give the entire population of a medium-sized country chronic heart problems. And then they just keep piling on more cheese.
Does anyone know why this movie is called 8 Diagram Pole Fighter? Obviously the pole fighter makes sense, but what does the 8 diagram mean? I dont believe there was any mention of 8 diagrams at all in the entire movie.
Saul parrella nascimento It would have been cool if they talked about it though. They name these movies so many things that have nothing to do with the actual story. I get annoyed at times but if the movie has great fights then its ok. I honestly am not one of those guys who thinks every single Shaw Brothers film is a masterpiece. Most of them suck hard and are incredibly boring and only pretentious nerds like them. But the few shaw brothers that are great actually are master pieces.
+MaharlikaAWA The real name of the poling technique is "The eight trigrams pole" - a Chinese Poling skill developed based on Bagua - The Eight Trigrams.
I'm just taking a moment to appreciate how good all of the people in this scene are. Just great fight choreography and performance.
And they did it film after film. Year in and year out.
Absolutely amazing fighting sequences!!!
More teeth were lost in this one scene than in all the pub brawls in 2023.
Nothing can quite match the energy of old school martial arts movies
Nothing bro nothing
+100500!
Agreed. They just don't make them like they used to anymore.
Facts
Easily one of my favorite old school kung fu movies!
wow this video is almost 11 minutes long but the fight feels so much longer. i love when they do that.

THANK YOU MASTER LIU. YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

Gordon lui said in an interview that the 3 section staff is the most difficult weapon to master. it is also probably the best.
He made it look so easy in the film heroes from the east.

Best fight scene ever... Brought tears to my eyes!!!
😂
That sounds real cringe.
Such poignant scene !
1 of absolute classic no cap
This is much better than the so called American martial arts knockoffs and imitations

i wonder how long it took to film that last fight jeez so awesome!
Typically hong kong movies are filmed in a week.
Way before marvel, these were my super hero movie.
This Movie Was And Still Is Another Amazing Cinema Masterpiece!
Your polearm proficiency has increased to 382.
wiggmortem Finally, a M&B raference!
The original title was the Invincible polefighter. Simply one THE best martial arts films ever.
The Choreography is well done. Be fricking hard to get it all done correctly
One of the greatest kung fu movies that was ever made 🤔👍🏿👍🏿💯
That was genuinely awesome!
4 out of 5 dentists approve of this fight
Love the broken teeth sticking out of the young monks head😂
😂😂😂
6 out of 5!
Lol, I laughed so hard.
Xxx
Dang this is better than today's kung fu movies.
These chinese folks didn't play back then when they were pulling their cool moves.
Pure art.
This Kungfu movie was so popular that it has two name titles.
- Invisible Pole fighter
- 8 Diagram poles
💯✅
The 2nd one is a more literal translation. The 3rd title should be dental pole fighter. 😂
Surely the Tooth fairy had a lot of work to do
This is the raddest shit ever. "I'm here to deliver the poles. The poles... of righteousness!" (MAYHEM COMMENCES)
I love any role Mr. Liu plays, but i always thought he was amazing as a Monk.
sick ending.......awesome
i remember watching this movie as a kid about 40 years ago and since then I have always been mindful to avoid getting into a fight with a guy pushing a cart of bamboo poles.
The Shaw brothers had martial art films on lock. I just watched Master Killer and The Kid with the golden arm last week.
This dude was nasty fighting them he wasn't playing NO GAMES
Best movie’s growing up. Kungfu sound effects , fantasy and motion beats the hell out of cgi any day!
These monks made sure the cavity rate went down expeditiously 😂
Crikeys!!! Must of taken these guys months to rehearse this movie with all these classic fighting.....👊😄👍
They are professional stunt men and actors, they probably had it nailed down in a week or two

Jajaaaaaa 😂😂😢😮😊😊😂❤!! Quedaron igual que yo... Sin dientes 😂😂!!! Like Germán saluditos Uruguay
This is pretty much Chinese Shakespeare. Everyone dies. Lots of meaningless banter that changes nothing. Love it!
The only thing more dangerous then Shaolin Monks...Shaolin Dentists
snakes3425 lolololol....good one....lololol...I been cancelled my appointment!

There is so much awesome in this video I can't understand why these movies are not being rebooted!
All those great choreographers have gone.

Better than any recent Marvel movie
Please full movie.
So much skill and so much ham'n cheese! I'm entirely entertained, what an awesome scene!
😂😂😂😂 that was the funniest SNL skit I've seen in a long time!😂😂
Should be at least 720p.
I roared laughing at the moment when the monk headbutted the baddie and ends up with the baddie's teeth sticking out of the top of his head.
Bamboo = weapon of mass destruction
I loved this film, yes I agree with a lot of the comments on here, very good fighting sequences.
Gordon Liu is a legend
Best kungfu fighter best movies of this gentleman I saw All his pictures in the 80s
Awesome movie. My favorite 😍 💓 💛

Asomes nice movie!!!
This is one of my best movies of all time
I first saw this movie decades ago and really enjoyed it. I'd forgotten about the teeth!
RIP teeth
A true work of art. Lau Kar Leung was the best there was.
Loved this one as a child and appreciate even more now. Top of my list with Kid w/ the Golden Arms and Masked Avengers. Oh yeah, and Chinese Super Ninjas.
No sticks were harmed in the making of this film
This Final Fight Scene makes me want to become a Dentist. I could get rich off the dental work that needs to be done at the end of this film, lol!!!!
I am all for old school Chinese kung fu movies, but this is way too bloody and graphic for my taste
This was a great movie , classic
This fight was brutal

The bit with the teeth in the one monk's head makes my skin crawl every time!
Magnificent movie
КАК ФИЛЬМ НАЗЫВАЕТСЯ С ЭТИМ ШАОЛИНЕМ????????????????????????????????
He’s from enter the 36th chamber
Is that the real original music?
This was one of the best kung fu movies
the drama of the movie is nearly as good as the action. all around classic that should be owned by all serious kung fu fans.

Still one great in art of time 👍
Epic fight
Excellent action!!!😅

Vlad Tepes: “Finally, a man of culture!”
Crazy Fight scene
He's here to deliver the poles....OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
Job done.
wu tang vs shaolin had some great fight scenes as well.
Everything about this felt personal.
This is pretty much me after I eat a few hotdogs and find a cool branch from a tree to slay 200 men with
When I was a kid back in the 80s I used to love Shaw Brothers Movies, but these priests are super violent, can't we just get along please.
Fu Sheng last movie he made. RIP Shaw Bros. Forever
I've seen 36th chamber and return to the 36th chamber. This looks fire too.
this leaves out a trip to the dentist
That teeth extraction looked like it really, really hurt lol
0:14 was very hot
I hope they had insurance. DENTAL insurance that is.

He used his martial arts training in spear to practice with a staff eventually developing the unique eight diagram staff fighting technique

❤❤❤me gusta mucho
Now that’s how you Cary your brother.
Even though he said he could walk and started fight 😅❤🎉
nice movie !!
They don't make kung fu movies like this any more.
And never will. The people that mastered this technique of film making are gone.
