I always thought it was just comfrey that helped bleeding! SHoot, I wish I knew this about yarrow the other day, I split my knuckle open to the bone on a log, and I have yarrow everywhere in that area! Dang it! Yarrow has helped me when I'm helping my husband in the heat of summer and I"m getting sort of weak, thirsty and overheated, I literally have had it cool me down and be able to get back working, just from 3-4 baby sprigs of it! Its amazing.
Yarrow is one of the best blood stoppers there is. The tincture or dried leaves and flowers belong in every first aid kit. The fresh in every yard and garden.
@@remaininganonymous4129 well, I guess I literally just picked leaves and ate them as I helped him work. The serious bitter taste was actually kinda intriguing for me, so I'd eat several leaves. Just seemed to kind of pick me up and help me out through it. Maybe it's a placebo effect possibly.
I live near the ocean in Massachusetts, we have golden yarrow here. It actually has a huge umbrella of golden flowers, much bigger than the white. I assume it has the same healing properites?
I have a (fuschia) colored variety of Yarrow, anybody know if it has any of the same benefits. I would guess yes, but I think I have seen some people say no, only the white, natural variety has the benefits.
I bought the fuschia coloured yarrow last week. I've also foraged 100+ wild white yarrow to plant in my garden, and I've dried, powdered and bottled several white yarrow flowers and leaves on Saturday night. Costa Coffee gave me 2 dozen mini jamjars. I've washed them out. I've put the yarrow powder into several of these mini jamjars. I'll keep one jar in the pocket of each coat, in handbags and bugout bags, and in my car.
Achillea Moonshine is also a variant of Yarrow, can that be used as the white Yarrow? I pick these along with wild dragon snaps and other wild flowers every week. I do not buy flowers during the summer, all around the lake these grow in abundance. Is the yellow Yarrow safe to make tea and use as herb?
Thank you for watching. There might be some mineral differences, due to soil-types, but I would think the medicinal benefits should be the same, wild or cultivated.
I thought it was pretty funny when you said you love wild plants and then that InterVoice popped in and said as a post to work domesticated plants which is technically a real thing but it was just funny
Ive been trying to get rid of this effing plant from my lawn!! But it’s a stubborn b*stard and keeps coming back year after year despite lots of lawn weed killer.
I've foraged lots of yarrow from several grass verges. I've now potted them up on my patio, and planted several in a border.

I'm planting yarrow to attract ladybugs. They can feast on the aphids that like my Bottlebrush tree.
Keep in your medicine cabinet...if ya drink enough it can also make everything seem much brighter, and also makes ya sleepy. Love this plant.

@@s.leemccauley7302 Hmmm Thank you so much. I always like this plant more as I learn more about it!
How did you use it to stop overheating and thirst? Did you chew on it?

What time of year, and where does it come up?
Great info

good info., thanks.
Awesome video, and you sound like quite a down to earth guy too 😃
Awesome
Is the benefits different if u smoke it? It was said that it's a good smoke
Ha wow. Never thought of that, but not sure I'd venture that way. How would you do that, dry them out first? Interesting...

I'd like to know if the various different colours of yarrow are as effective as wild white yarrow in stopping bleeding.
I keep this growing in a big pot.
ME TOO! With a little bit of crimson clover and a handful of chives.
Growing some yarrow for the bees
So how do you use it to stop bleeding? Leaves or flowers? Grind it up or ?
Chew em up and apply to the needed area. As in chew it to a paste like substance and then apply.

I wondered that, too. I have a lot of the moonshine variety in my yard.
The leaves are blue gray, and ate definitely not ferny, so I haven't tried using until I know more...
Awesome video !
Heck yes
Wondering if cultivars are as good as wild, I have loads of dried yarrow flower and yarrow leaf but haven’t ever used it

Your chicken strips and french fries are ready
Sadly they were not for me:(

Please stop using weed killer. Glyphosphate is not good. And your yarrow is now useless to you.
Its not an umbel it's a , corymb.
I want to use this word in Scrabble soooo much now!
I have no yarrow
yArraaaa
Ugh, toxic to dogs and cats. Guess I won’t be putting in my backyard. 🙀
No dog or cat is going to ingest it voluntarily.
It's said to be too bitter for pets to eat enough to cause issues
