A ground-breaking virtual reality exposure therapy model, designed by Limbix, is now on track to receiving FDA approval for treating anxiety disorders.
In virtual reality exposure therapy, a therapist selects a program that’s designed to address a patient’s specific mental health disorder. During the session, patients work through a range of virtual scenarios.
Using a VR headset, the patient is gradually exposed to increasingly intense experiences while the therapist observes their responses and provides strategies for correcting unhealthy reactions.

What do you think of VR Therapy?

Exposure therapy is incredibly effective. As long as it can still be effective in VR, it's a great idea.

@@sinjai1337 It looks like this is the case - but under a quarter of people with anxiety issues receive any form of it in the U.S., so hopefully this can broaden its reach (www.psychiatrictimes.com/anxiety/exposure-therapy-anxiety-disorders).

For example.... is the traffic you see on the headset real actual traffic or a manufactured facsimile ....for me its a very important distinction in dealing with the "real" problem.......My mind would be very reluctant to trust cartoon cars !!.... Many thanks for loading this up...shame its taken so long in general.

It's perfect. I started using this with my own VR a while back. looks like I was on to something because now you guys put up this video.
Definite should not do it on your own if the thing you are afraid of really triggers you. My stuff is moderate, best wishes to everyone to kick their fears in the ass!

Hi Freethink...what's the latest. Have adult child with extreme anxiety. Will you elaborate on "prescription vr.?" Has the FDA approved it?

They're hoping for FDA approval in 2022 pending the results of a study. medcitynews.com/2020/10/limbix-digital-therapeutic-for-adolescent-mental-health-finds-niche-amid-covid-19-pandemic/
