@3.16 2.4ghz signal is for longer distances and travels through walls better. While the 5ghz and 6ghz bands are phenomenal when next to the device... Speeds drop very much as you put and more walls between the wifi device and router.
Honestly I am not sure because from my experience that drastically changes depending on a person's house construction, amount of other signals they have, height of the router, etc. Mine is about 50 feet away and works great. The app also has a way to test the signals to see if it is to far away.
Great video......only i cant do anything because it keeps saying im not connected to internet? Then i put my old deco router back and everything works again?? I have the orbi 960 set and installed it exactly as it should to the modem. After that the orbi shows up on all my mac's but it says everywhere im not connected to the internet. So i cant even check for firmware updates? Anyone can please help me with this?
It is hard to say without seeing the setup. Mine was plug an play. For example I have AT&T and the just plugged the main Orbi router into the AT&T device and did all the setup. Once the main Orbi router was setup I added the other Orbi satellites. Make sure you are plugging your modem into the yellow internet port, but I am assuming that is what you did.
Yes, super easy and was plug and play. It is optional, but I would recommend turning off your uverse modem WiFi if you know how to do that. It will just help as it is one less wifi signal floating around, but not required.
On the satellites you can use it to connect to your Router if you wish, but you can use it for other devices too. I have my Amazon Fire plugged into the 2.4Ghz port on one of the Satellites as I don't have it hardwired back to the Router. So it is not just for a hardwire to the Router.
@@PUREreviews Ah, ok, that was not my impression. Interesting I though the network port on the Fire device was for networking not wireless. But if it works then it must be taking advantage of it, though, my preference would be for my Amazon device to connect to wireless at 5Ghz at a min.
Great review Thanks! I bought a set. They are great. I am very happy. Thanks Again
Thanks for watching!
Nice video. The Ethernet ports are GigaBIT and not GigaHERTZ. Hertz measure radio frequencies. Bits measure data throughout.
Just trying to be helpful
Yea, sometimes when I am talking other words pop in my head.

What is the practical max distance beteen the router and a satellite?
For example I want to put a satellite unit in a guest house 70 feet away.

@@PUREreviews Today the helpdesk from Netgear is going to phone me back. Keeping my fingers crossed.
I notice you have an att modem is it easy to set up with this modem I have the same att uverse modem?

Speed test? Can you do a Speed Test before hook up and then after? That would be helpful. Thanks.
If you watch the video you will notice I showed this at 0:53 in the video on the right hand side of the screen
great video
Glad you enjoyed it
The 2.4Ghz port on the satellite is to hardwire it to the Router, not for peripherals

2.5Gbps not ghz.
I believe that 2.5 gb port on the back of the satellites is primarliy for wired backhaul.
