Everyone thinks they have a gold mine right now. $1000 beaters going for 4k
I loved my EM1 when I had it in the early 2000’s. I just imported a 97 prelude type S and it’s so much fun. Going from 160 to 217 hp makes a bike difference. I’d encourage anyone to look into a BB6 chassis.
Fantastic video. I personally prefer your topic based videos like this. You touched on everything I've been feeling about the market and I agree. One thing to keep in mind is unlike the domestic enthusiast market, our scene doesn't have the luxury of companies reproducing parts. Even OE companies like Ford still make parts for their '65 Mustang. For the Hondas specifically, we don't have that. Therefore truly clean examples of our cars will always fetch a premium, as well as the rare parts.
I appreciate your insight man. Thanks for the great video.
2:52 another answer for that question is i have a friend that does finances at a bank for dealerships. He told me that there are an abundance of defaulting auto loans and repossessions coming down the pipe line. That could be a helping factor in the used car market dropping
I have been slowly restoring an EG hatch over the last 3 years and I have seen the change. The sh*tboxes are getting restored and less are getting parted out. So there are less parts in the market causing the over all value of a part out car going up. The other big thing is there are just less of them around. I went to junkyard to try to find some integra knuckles and my entire city (I live in a large city) only had 1 Integra in the Junkyard.
I have a 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback; I looked at Carvana to see what my car was worth in 2021 and that car, used, was selling at a higher price than what I had paid for it new off the lot. Just crazy.
At my shop we deal with the carvana cars and they are crap. What’s even worse is they won’t even fix stuff that needs fixing and they are in the window of time they can return it.
Marketplace is deff not the place for market price on anything…. Good info good vids!
love the video! funny story i was in the market for a daily which is what got me back into my little ol hondas considering the outrageous prices on used anything! any anyway i found a black 2000 si with the usual bondo spots. i paid 6k!!! i was happy until 8 days later the b16 motor that was in it was no good. knock sensor yadaya bent something hense the motor wouldt not start nor run.i got it from a mom and pop dealer and after a 900$ tow from virginia back to delaware (about 5hr)i threated to sue him. he then gave me my money back except for 40dollers ( exspense for tt tag) because he knew i was a good dude in his words! joes car stereo was the old name. come to find out the name was changed becasue it had so many bad reviews! now moved to fl and rocking the ef wagon which i paid a grip for considering the money i had to continue to put into the car so i kno your pain! it should be k swapped at least for the amount of money i put into this car. hope i get lucky enough in Ur raffle so i can add to my love for the ef chasis.id love the own the entire line up someday. considering ive owned themat one point in my life. but the were 900-1500$ cars sh!t 5K got u a turbo b16 in a crx early 2006. NOW 5k gets a crx wit no motor horrible paint/body no interior hahha
Bought my 2020 Honda Fit for $17,550 in 2020. I was thinking of selling to carmaxx and they offered $23,000. It's the best time to sell cars but the worst time to buy one.
And in 2023 it will be worth 10k 🤣
I cant see used prices going back down. The internet has created a ton of demand for the 90s cars, and theres just not enough to go around for everyone.
Can you tell us how many stickers will be sold total?
We need for this car and house market to go down because everything is getting sooo expensive 💯👍👍👍
Monthly payment car prices are more than my damn rent. F that. Not to forget insurance too.
The car market IS totally insane. I talked to my dealer about the FL5 and they said they are putting a mark up because "whats to say that you aren't gonna take this car if we sell it to you at MSRP and you go and sell it for 20k more". But what about the people that just want the car for themselves at a fair price?!
Sydney city here.. Prices are still high AF ... don't get me started
Well at least the dealership is taking the cars to the auction due to no sale items.
Carvana prices have always been overinflated, people are to be blamed for paying stupid prices.
Hi. Here in Europe we are dealing with the same problems on the car and the used parts market . We call it moon prices :-) ... even for garbage cans you are paying 2,5 times the price before the pandemic kicked in . Used Rims witch are totaled destroyed are now worth 500€. @ Marc your words could come from my synaps :-) . Keep on with your videos . I wish you all the best . Greetings
Car market has been nuts, it's definitely coming down slowly in my area (Texas). People are over the clapped out shit boxes for 4k and bucket shells for 2k.
You are 100% right here, something’s gonna give. Either people won’t be able to sell or will need to reduce the prices. We as an enthusiast community need stop paying crack head prices for the run of the mill shit box. This is the only way to weave the prices and set a standard for solid builds and good running vehicles. Again, thanks for bringing in economics and history into your video. God bless my friend 🙏
How many tickets did you make available for purchase?
Let me just say I 1000% agree. Also, it is a sad day when a dealership is allowed to get away with this markup bs, and some buyers are still like...."YES, SELL ME THAT FOR 25% MORE THAN IT IS WORTH!"
Those buyers definitely flunked econ in school.
I sure hope the market breaks soon.
A 198,000 mile, salvage title 350z with unpainted bumpers/hood, mismatched wheels and rust isn't worth $9k 😅
2005 Honda Civic Si - White - 133k - All Stock $25k OBO
I kind of want to buy stickers for the EF raffle entry but majority of these raffles are scams. Like a UA-camr had a raffle for the car or 50k cash. Supposedly the winner didn’t want to show his face and took the cash instead. So he kept the raffle entry money and still kept car. Anyways probably friend of his will be the winner and entry fees goes in the pocket.
Dead On Brother. Love the content.
I totally agree. Used cars and new cars are pretty outrageous. I personally make 52,000 a year roughly, and would love nothing more than to buy the new Civic type r. But the prices are so high that I can't even imagine it. The 2017-2022 type R's are still going for their MSRP price. There's actually one close to my area from a private seller that is selling for $60,000. There's nothing even rare about it. It only has 84 miles on it that's it. It just sits in somebody's garage.
Shit I make 100k n I can’t even think about buyin a type r lol. Shit is wild
I remember when I first really got into cars you could get a b series for a couple hundred bucks. Now they are about 1k no matter what
I think the market is shit, I think people are stoned when listening their $500.00 shit box with salvage title and needing engine or transmission. Was looking for a miata NA or NB as a father daughter project and Holy shit...6-7k for 200k on the clock beater. Finally found an NB for $400.00 runs clean title tags are down a year and needs a new top. We're heading for huge recession and people think everything is just starting to cool off. Um...get ready and buckle up butter cup it's gonna be a helluva ride.
With that being said I kinda saw this would happen so I bought my 91 mr2 for a killer deal(90k miles) and my 2006 rsx typeS(62k miles)for a really good deal too. I really want to get something new and fun like a new civic type R but hell no I refuse to contribute to this whole mark up thing.
Bought my 91 integra ls special for 1000$ in 2018 i love da9
I bought a decent clean high mileage 03 G35 for 2k during covid. Thought I might sell it for the same price. Nope. Seen rusted gross nasty ass ones on offer up for 4k W T F lol I'll just hold onto mine since all the other car prices are high af too 😂😂😂😂
Saw a new type R listed for $79k in Cali 😂 insane
I can see the market tanking, as NSX prices are dropping slowly. I can see carvana scaling there operation due to the father and son doing shady business practices and expanding too fast. They will have to sell the cars they have at a lost or break even point. Then you also have the ballers who paid 3 to 4 times the amount for a car, can those guys continue to make payments? 2023 will be interesting for the car market.
Mark has recently seen pictures of my all original pearl Blue 2006 Honda Civic Si. I bought it from the original owner. Its mint in and out. 154k original soft miles. If i could get $4500 to $5000 for it i would say that was more then fair and reasonable. I dont subscribe to all the jacked up Honda prices we have been seeing lately. I love Hondas but im not a f***ing fool! PS. Lets go Brandon
I think prices are coming down
Yaaay tell me about my girl just bought a 2018 civic si with 70k miles for 24k 😢we found window sticker in glove box and when new it sold got 24k 🤦♂️🤔💩
WTH did u not just buy new lol
@@ll.7927 new one I guess we didn’t qualify for didn’t make any sense I feel like they purposely pushed it on her

Hey Mark.. I know that your haircut on 80s or 90s were from $5bucks to$10 bucks.. but now 2022 haircuts are $20 minimum up to$40-$50 for a men's haircut.. . With that me saying, for the guys that wants to buy a 80s or 90s civic has to pay alot more than what was worth 10 years ago.. you will never pay $5 bucks for a haircut for the rest of your life.. prices keeps going higher and higher. Inflation is inevitable cus of the demand the only way to drop the demand is a black plague, new HIV stage2, Genocide, 50% of human life population has to drop from 8 billion down to 3 billion or 4. The more we drop population the less demand so less demand less for the price, item, house, land, cars. So basically if you are an enthusiastic of cars specially Hondas then you gotta be an enthusiastic to make more money. Is Simple, This is America 🇺🇸 , you don't make money 💰 you are a f#$@&ing douche bag, now what you gonna do, Make more money... Thats the spirit... lol I quote The Departed - Make More Money.
I can't stand people crying about prices. Don't buy it if you don't like it. Like most things in life, don't be poor.
