  • Just wanted to show off a few of my favorite covers from the Silver Age of comics. If you have some silver age books I'd love to see them!
Sorry my setup isn't optimized for recording videos, so the audio and lighting isn't quite right.

Great video! Well done. I dig those Adventure Comics. World's Finest are underrated too. First Vision is a beauty! DD's red costume was a big improvement, but I always like it when the original costume is mentioned or worn. Too fun!!!

I don't have Adventure 247. Above and below but not that one. Dam!
I don't own Lois Lane Number One either.
The one as a witch, I did a fantastic 3D tribute to it though somewhere out there on the Web, try 3dmacphee.
My hard drive died with that on it. I can't remember the file name I used. Oh well!

Oh man! I just started your video and fully Subscribed right away.
I shook Curt Swans hand. My God! He spoke about how much he respects Jack (King) Kirby.
Two equally amazing life changing people.
I was late to fully appreciate Jack because the 'Marvels' were my Brothers job.
Jeeze Richard acquired all the 1962 Marvels but sold them all for hardly anything over a girl he lost anyway/ Anywho,
Not to self promote but if you search the term 3dmacphee you can find some cool things that work as 3D and very much respecting both Legendary Artists that inspired me. I held Curt Swans hand! Blow my mind!

I googled 3d Batman. Not much luck. People have no idea what 3D even means anymore. What? Toy Story
My work is 3D Stereographic high resolution not just fancy shades of supposed realism or modern apps.
Look to be perfectly frank, when I do art now, I just do it for myself involving rather lovely, imaginary girls.

Jack(King)Kirby went to DC and did some of his finest work.
Still, they didn't like him there.
It's not good to be too good.
However, the Star Wars Franchise ripped him off horribly.
I always wished A.I. could make a feature film with Curt Swan's exact art style and beauty and emulate those pure fantasy story tellers so helpful in the day.

Okay, I'm going to throw in another comment since I guess I got your attention. our Dad taught us to read very early in life, We both understood how to use our fifty cent allowance best with candy and books. Hard to tell what was better sometimes .But along comes 'Mad Magazine' We could pool our allowance on that gladly! For 25 cents!
Higher education with staples long before 'Playboy" The art I do now? Never mind.

I had a peek. Try '3d Lois lane 11 final' The two sided pictures are mine. I haven't done that stuff for years.
There is a 3d Batman I did very well. He's so pissed at a purse snatchier. He wants to beat his brains out. Ouch!
In the image, Superman fly's by and is disgusted by cruel Batman.

I did a number of Lois Lane paintings in the exact style of Curt Swan.
You might be able to find me by searching '3dlois/images.

I am still part way through your video.
As much as I loved Curt Swan he explained to me how prolific Kirby was. The pay in those days was rather poor, these guys had to work hard hardly getting away from the drawing board even with young guests. The door is always open.
Kirby was a real genius. Yeah they both were but Kirby knew that despite his diligent penciling it would all be rubbed out under inking.
Well Jack learned to understand that so re was so well known for his dramatic action panels. Excellent story teller all on his own, His pencil was taking too long. Now the Beauty of Kirby and Stan Lee is that Jack would reduce his part to a minimum so that the very best inkers could take over keeping to his intentional style the best they could. Hands feet and faces? uh Hmm? Swan was so fkn good at faces along with Kurt his friend at DC. In those day's we didn't have color TV but for just ten cents a kid could dream.

I am really enjoying your video. Memories man.
A few steps from our house was a pharmacy. I was like 6 or seven?
I was taught to read with my father with comics. School failed. "See Spot run"?
But there was a comic book stand to the left of the door as we stepped in.
That's all we were interested in way before our teenage years.
What is I want to say is that the pharmacist promised that if we handled them very carefully without any spills or anything like folding, we could sell them back to him for two cents. Is that ironic or what? Today, those books are worth hundreds.

I am sure I shook Neil Adams hand as well at a comic book convention. That was before Covid. Shaking hands was normal.
That was a major privilege and I did a very good tribute painting of his of Superman cover without the green face.
I intended to give to him.
He saw it and praised me but advised me to keep it. It's out there on the web if you can find it.

My oldest daughter has our tremendously vast silver age collection stored in her cold cellar.
I fear my grandkids will find soon them enjoy them and destroy them. The books are old.
Can't really be handled. I have a nice 4K tv now. My vision is poor.
I would just love to get those pages up on my big screen to read them again without taking them out of the bag.
