I have a '96 shee. Owner's manual states mixing ratio of 24:1...I've always ran a ratio of 32:1 with no issues. Less fouling, less smoking. Great video btw

Yeah man, this thing was a great find!!! The ole 2-smokers are getting harder to come by, if you ever get a chance jump on one! The first ride video is doing really well for us, so that's a good sign.. I'd love to find a Quadzilla to run next to this thing..
What I learned- I miss having a sport quad no matter how much of a money pit they can be. Them pipes sound awesome! That Banshee should be opened up a LOT more now.

That would be a real dune runner. Great video guys, good clear instructions and a great machine. Keep the vids comin.
We'll definitely have more Banshee content! Especially when the weather breaks a bit.. Winters around here are just rain and mud.. We tend to ride the big 4x4s when it's sloppy and nasty..

I have a 2000 banshee and did the exact set up, if you jet it just like Toomey says and needle placement as they say it it runs unbelievable, really fast and lots of power. Hang on!!!
@@DirtObseXXion people cannot believe that my banshee and yours will also sit and idle all day if needed, I ride very easy sometimes with my daughter and it never files plugs, Toomey, VForce, and a little more air and jetting and it's perfect, enjoy!!
I cant believe u found a banshee with stock pipes... I bought mine new and in 24hrs it had fmf pipes jets and vforce reeds... great video man nice rig super clean...

I like em both but I can definitely see your point.. The Raptor has so much torque it doesn't feel like it opens up the same way the Banshee does.. I think the Banshees ergos are better too.. I'd happily ride either one tho!
I hate the fuel injection on the raptor,700r no where near the trail milage, as most bike, i have had every make of bike built and stock, and raptor's seam to be the worst for fuel related problems, i had a 2006 350 and the bike would cavatate the fuel, half hour into the ride, and they are nose heavy, ran out of fuel many times, water bottles dont make good gas funnels!!!!!!!
The best bike in my opinion was the 2008 special edition burnt orange and black yfz 450r, so fast responsive, well geared, nice balance, never felt like I was going to roll it to easily. but I ride a honda 2005 450r daily for reliability
Very nice banshee! I subscribed. I know some information on the boost bottle and it's functions which may help you and others. Boost bottles are typically for 2 Stroke engines with crankcase that is a too small of volume for the expansion pipe, YEIS boost bottles was effective on older Yamaha 2t bikes. Motorized bike engines with very little crankcase volume use them as well, it also has to be calculated with the the right size tubing and bottle size to increase the case volume required for the expansion pipe requirements or you will not see much if any gains in performance at all.

I find it funny the little differences between each manufacturer.like for example on my 250R all I have to do is hit a switch and the entire seat and fenders come off. I never realized that on the Banshee to get the fenders off you have to unbolt them. That bike is sweet what a time capsule don't throw out the stock Parts a lot of people want those like I'm looking for stock parts for my FourTrax and they are wicked hard to find even things like the handlebars and the stock pipe etc
@@DirtObseXXion you know another funny thing about the Banshee is that we used to back in the day have a contest to see who could start it with the most ridiculous way ever. It got to the point where we were able to start it with our hand because it is the least compression 2 stroke because the cylinders are so small. And the kick is such a small range compared to say a 250R or quadracer 500. It's so easy to start.

definitely an excellent machine, maybe consider losing that big crazy restrictive plastic air box, that limits the air intake so much. then just add two nice filters right onto the carbs with no adapter. youll notice a big difference again!
With the mods, you’re heading in the right direction. Love the pipes! I’m kinda surprised you didn’t get any pilot jets with the kit. You might need it increase them...maybe.
Dirt ObseXXion you could put fresh plugs in it, fire it up and just let it idle until it’s warmed up. Kill the engine and look at the plugs. Are they a nice tan color? If so, ride on!
Get the tors delete kit. And remove those boxes on top the carbs. The bike will be easier to tune. And you wont have to take the carbs off the boots. Just losen up the clamps and turn them sideways. And just have to take off the bowls when re jetting🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 and junk the boost bottle. On my stock shee it caused my intake boots to crack. And it leaked around where the bottle inserts
Worlds different, sounds so much better and my thoughts on The boost bottle also. Do they really work?? Not sure I couldn't ever really tell, you should have done a without ride and one with it on. What's next cool heads? Bumpers skid plates, but i wouldn't do the swing arm one it's just to low. Look at bling star sprocket guards,
ME 109 pipes will not affect fuel oil ratios. Each oil brand recommends their mix ratio. I was using Klotz super techniplate at 32:1 ratio but have decided to change to Amsoil Dominator at 50:1. it is fully synthetic and seems to burn cleaner

He got almost everything off ebay brother.. The only promotions we have are for an Insta360 Camera.. Working out some details with another site, but they won't have performance parts for a Banshee..
It's just rubber that has to be removed, it's pretty easy to cut with a sharp knife.. you're just making it flush too, so basically just need to find a long enough blade and slide it straight across the port.
Yeah, you notice more of a difference with a good 2stroke pipe than you do on a 4stroker.. Not sure the actual HP gains but with t5s the gains are mostly in top end end.. I hear t6s are better for low end power
Orange from an 08 model, they came on ot but weren't original.. We have videos on it where it's very clean.. This was day 3 of a 3 day ride.. I'd check eBay for the plastics
U should delete the the TORS if u ever have to sync the carbs it makes it 10 times easier. And boost bottles do nothing In my opinion. They just cause your intake boots to crack. I'd stick with the stock cross over tube
Thanks man! It has been a little bit of an issue to dial it in 100%.. If the intake boots crack, we'll definitely know it was the boost bottle, quite a few guys mentioned that.. He kept the crossover tube so that's an easy fix..

YAMAHA ran this system on alot of 2 strokes Vmax4 Vmax500 Vmax500 Phazer Srx440 Vmax535 Rz350 Rz500 Yz 125 250 490 IT175 200 Dt200 Just to name a few. Does it work, I think it does *We've had a lot of comments advising against it, most saying that they will crack the intake boots. We'll probably do a follow up or dig into the concept in more depth because it seems to be contentious.

ME 109 pipes will not affect fuel oil ratios. Each oil brand recommends their mix ratio. I was using Klotz super techniplate at 32:1 ratio but have decided to change to Amsoil Dominator at 50:1. it is fully synthetic and seems to burn cleaner
@@theviking4525 Great thanks for your reply. I've always used Maxima 927 and it seems to lubricate well and smells awesome. But I keep hearing I should switch to Amsoil since it's fully synthetic. Definitely will try and see what difference there is.

Shoot brother, that was 2 years ago and I don't remember exactly, but I want to say they were Maxxis RZRs 21x9 front and 20x11 rear. I think the wheels were DWT.

I would recommend taking that boost bottle off. Doesn’t do much of anything besides crack intake boots.

Great video! Thumbs up for you! Question...Why didn't you wash off the Banshee BEFORE you disassembled it? That thing is just gross. Dirt ALL OVER those carbs. Should have sprayed everything clean with carb cleaner. Compressed air minimum.

Yeah there was a boot around it that didn't fit.. We shaved the boot off with a razor blade

I have a banshee with a 421 cheetah kit. Four other buddies I rode with had banshees, and we all determined that boost bottle does absolutely nothing.
Thanks! We've heard both ways but he knew it may not provide anything when he bought it... We'll at least consider it a cosmetic upgrade..

The stock exhaust has 4 springs.. Yes, pipe and jetting add lots of power. The Toomey t5 are a top end pipe tho

Hello is it hard to modify the reeds to fit the banshee. I read on the website the I have to remove some material on the intake port walls
It's just rubber that has to be removed, it's pretty easy to cut with a sharp knife.. you're just making it flush too, so basically just need to find a long enough blade and slide it straight across the port.
no modification to the intake ports of the cylinders needed?
No but we had to cut the rubber lips off the reeds..
would you say they was alot of difference between the stock pipes and t5 ( inclouding jet kit&reeds) what hp has it added on.
Yeah, you notice more of a difference with a good 2stroke pipe than you do on a 4stroker.. Not sure the actual HP gains but with t5s the gains are mostly in top end end.. I hear t6s are better for low end power

Orange from an 08 model, they came on ot but weren't original.. We have videos on it where it's very clean.. This was day 3 of a 3 day ride.. I'd check eBay for the plastics

U should delete the the TORS if u ever have to sync the carbs it makes it 10 times easier. And boost bottles do nothing In my opinion. They just cause your intake boots to crack. I'd stick with the stock cross over tube
Thanks man! It has been a little bit of an issue to dial it in 100%.. If the intake boots crack, we'll definitely know it was the boost bottle, quite a few guys mentioned that.. He kept the crossover tube so that's an easy fix..

YAMAHA came up with the boost bottle idea on 80s yz dirtbikes,
YEIS YAMAHA energy induction system, its basic idea is to collect air n fuel when the reeds are closed so on intake stroke its collected air n fuel would enter the engine to increase power. YAMAHA ran this system on alot of 2 strokes
