I agree 100%. To be fair though she grew up hand rolling dice and I had to introduce her and her family to the dice cups. I still think they prefer the hand roll.
Nice one! I reckon I'm only a tad better than Dr Elena (at backgammon, not medicine) so your commentary is what, in an ideal world, I'd have inside my head when I play! Keep up the good work!
Justin, I can't tell a lie, I'm rooting for the wife (avoiding spoilers). I play bg the same against family and friends, I play my best game, help only after their moves, like to use a clock when available, and no mercy. Nice example of play and thought processes of an intermediate player and a world class player. I hope you do these vids with a variety of opponents. Cheers 🥂
@@vladeputinovic6128 Well, at the risk of sounding like Justin's manager, I can't let you get away with talking nonsense. His is currently around 8th, out of approx. 132,000 players, on Backgammon Galaxy, where you only progress if you win BOTH the game AND the PR. So even tougher than UBC.
@@mobiusklein9140 8th BG Galaxy? Is that tournament? 🤣 Just stop it. Galaxy 🤣🤣 Yes, he is great player but not even close to those I mention. All I said he should work harder to be able to beat them. Stop changing narrative.
I know from your interviews that you are a money player, justin. I feel like you played this match with more intensity than had you been playing for 100s lol. Love the competitive drive both of you have. When I play my finance' it always gets intense regardless of the stake!! Thanks for the content!
The doubles killed me. I’m a bit guilty of thinking about waiting on galaxy for the PR trap, but in person it’s always an auto double (probably because it’s the right move)
Justin you need to teach her how to speed count when moving her checkers. Ie white to white or black to back is even. Opposite colors is odd and the mirror image stuff for 6 away in each quadrant etc etc.... my wife is the same with counting each pip out haha
You mentioned in the beginning you met your wife playing for money at a park. How does that even work? Backgammon is so dramatically less popular than e.g. Chess that I would be surprised random passerbyes would even know how to play, let alone have the bad sense to agree to bet money against a dude with a Backgammon board in a park, who for all they know, could be a professional hustler or the Backgammon equivalent of a Magnus Carlsen. Please digress on this because I'm befuddled.
In some cultures people grow up playing this game since they were kids. Their love of the game is without question. Not everyone is looking for an edge when it comes to playing games either. If it is within their means it is simply entertainment.
I like your wife’s intense shaking style and the sideways rollout! 🙌🏼🎲🎲✨
She's trying to roll those doubles!
great content and chemistry
Thank you very much!
Justin, I really enjoyed this video! Can you post more games with your better half? 😂. My wife and I are hooked and play daily!
Great watch! I enjoyed the banter and the excitement. Those doubles 5s your wife rolled at 6-1 were great!
Great stuff! 😀
The dice certainly turned her way after that.
The good doctor has an intense shake before every roll. You can't get that kind of excitement with those darn baffle boxes.

I'd root for her too if it wasn't me playing lol :-)
handle the checkers with one hand only, please, Mrs Wife!
"Wanna be a BG pro? Espouse a doc just in case". I believe Mochy said that.
Lol
Shake the dice back and forth VIGOROUSLY at least THREE times, she knows it well 😄
The husband v wife aspect of the video is super nice of course BUT Justin's comments are golden.
Justin should work on his game...he is miles away from Mochy, Mislav, Dirk and especially GOAT Sander.
@@vladeputinovic6128 Justin is a top level money player who enters tournaments only occasionally. He is more than capable of competing with the best.
@@mobiusklein9140 Not in UBC PR format.
0% chance.

when wifee stood up at the 51st minute you knew this game just got real!
Justin, you'll NEVER guess who I was rooting for on every roll...
Justin. This was way way wadi overdue. We miss your wife so so much. Come on dude. We need more JN videos please!!!❤❤❤

Love this video! and love this board :)
A lot of people have fallen for the free dinner trick
The doubles killed me. I’m a bit guilty of thinking about waiting on galaxy for the PR trap, but in person it’s always an auto double (probably because it’s the right move)
Handsome couple. I know when I beat my girl she may make dinner but I sure won't get dessert! I hope you fared better Justin.
That's amazing that your wife plays at Advanced level. My wife thinks a blot is short for blood clot. What did you eat for dinner?
blot=blood clot... actually good idea....lots of blots last 3 years...
We ll pretend we dont know why.
Can you provide the link where you got the score keeper, please?

Rematch?
What is this stats website called that you are using?
What camera stand are you using over the board?
It’s made by Mate.
whats the bet?)
It was either $300 per point or dinner? I honestly don’t remember :-)
