Well I've used Temu a fair bit and as for those garbage tools that were defective or broken or missing pieces, they would all be fully refunded either to the financial institution you used to purchase them , or the fastest way is to have the return credited to your Temu account. Yes it takes two weeks approximately for the shipping but lots of times amazon takes the full ten days to ship. If your Temu parcel arrives after the scheduled date your account is credited $5. Honestly I really have no complaints because when you receive junk they reimburse you fairly quickly and hassle free.
@@FlynndoggWoodwork I have bought a lot from Temu. If ever I have a problem with something, Temu will replace it rapidly, often times telling me to just keep the broken one or throw it away. Not always, just occasionally. The thing about Temu for the hobbies, many of their tools at low cost are all they need. A few of the tools I have gotten from them is something I only require a few times a year at best. Why pay 100 dollars for it when the $20 dollar tool will fill the job a long time for me.
When buying off Temu, read the description very very carefully and then examine the pictures for the product. I've noticed they often put two products in the same picture giving the impression that you are buying both when in fact it is only one of those items that is being offered and the other is a separate (but often essential) item. Evaluate each offer very carefully, because, indeed, the advertising can and often is misleading.
What an excellent point AncoralmparoPiper. I actually noticed that last night. I was thinking about doing a follow up video and when I was seeing products with the same picture, you had to "read the fine print" to see what you were actually getting. One of the items was a clamp for what I was interested in even though they had a picture of the product I wanted. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I can also add, you should look at reviews that provides pictures... You probably get a good idea of both the packaging and the product. Sometimes what they actually deliver is the one on picture 9 in the description. Most often they aren't trying to cheat you... They just suck at providing the relevant information in a good precise way.
@@frontiervirtcharter It's a common practice grouping multiple similar items under one list. It saves listing cost, also makes your products appear cheaper in search result. Amazon does that too.
Been a purchaser from Temu for some time. Never had any issues as reactions to delivery issues were immediate. Quality is satisfactory and most are knock offs . Need to ensure you read all descriptions as there are cheap plastic v actual metal products. Delivery, usually within 1-2 weeks , Melbourne Australia..
Thanks for sharing Beddy! I've heard from others that the Australian experience seems to be better. I imagine there is better logistics there. Thanks for watching!
I agree. I have also been a Temu buyer for a while now. I have had only one disappointment. Amazon delivery times have got longer, so I'm not too worried about Temu.
I've purchased LOTS of stuff from them and most of it is on par with what can be bought off the shelf in brick and motor stores, but you have to be vigilant about what you are buying.
I think you could have easily drilled out the metal collars for that pocket hole jig and used it if you had a little patience. Then they would work perfectly. I suspect the holes were undersized because of a slight conflict between old english and metric trill sizes. No big deal.
Unfortunately I don’t think that is the case. The drill bit that came with this pocket hole jig was completely ruined. And I wasn’t going to ruin another bit on this item. It is not engineered well at all. The collars could be glued in, but they are not the right size.
@@FlynndoggWoodwork : I stand corrected. They must have used hardened collars, but the wrong size, I was hoping they might have used unhardened stuff which could be drilled out.
@@garywheeler7039 Yeah, it was a real disappointment, I honestly which they would make the collars that you could screw in, I think that would have solved the problem! Thanks again for watching and commenting! :)
I have that same kreg pocket hole jig, but mine came with a dust port (and it allows room for to still use the kreg clamp). The dust port is absolutely amazing and there is virtually no clean up when doing pocket holes. Regarding the router bits, my assumption would be they will be fine, just not as long lasting as higher end bits. So, for those rare bits you only use occasionally a cheap set is fine, but if you have a bit you use all the time, it's probably better to spend some extra money and get a good one. I have a few Chinese knock off tools and the one's I got seem to be fine. I picked up a rail square for my track saw and it is dead on 90 deg and was waaaay cheaper than the TSO ones. I also got a drill guide that is very good quality and again a lot cheaper than the rockler one or other high end ones. I think it's a hit or miss thing. The higher end chinese knock offs are a great deal...if they aren't a lemon.
Great point wesandell! Another user had made a great suggestion to read the comments on the temu website and they usually give you a better feel for whether something is junk or not. I hear you on the Kreg Jig. I don't know whey mine didn't come with the dust collection port. I heard nothing but good things about it. I got it so long ago and I'm sure at the time I didn't think that a dust collection port was necessary, but that quickly changed once I began to use it regularly! Thank you so much for sharing your experience, always great to hear! And thanks for watching!
@@jameskirk3 I just read a article on that, and it sounds like they have very few items in that price range as they actually have to go through customs if the total price tag of the order goes above $800. It was pretty interesting, but I agree with you if you are spending that kind of money you should expect quality!
Getting lost in the mail? More like delayed going through Customs. Any delays are justified by the prices, IF the item is a good quality item, otherwise it is delayed disappointment. Great video!
Temu uses slave labor (Uyghurs) to build it's library of items and then ships the items along side bulk orders of things from Alibaba and parts going to other manufacturing so it can skip the import tariffs at the US port. That's why shipping takes so long -- it's sitting in a cargo container on a ship.
Thanks for the video. I got the same T-square and threw mine out also. It was junk. But I love my pencil. I use it all the time. As for the shipping, I've never gotten my stuff in less than 2 weeks, but twice they gave me a $5 credit. They're good like that.
Thank you so much for sharing Michael, that's great to hear. Sounds like we had similar experience. Really appreciate you watching and commenting. Thanks again!
It's refreshing to see a UA-camr like yourself comment back on a comment. A lot of them don't, especially when I'm asking a question. @@FlynndoggWoodwork
The solid red aluminium ones are really good but it’s more of a t square you can get long ones and also any of the other red aluminium tools so far I’ve bought are pretty good
Not sure if writing one line, drilling the smallest hole possible with a step bit, and turning one nut 1/8th of a turn with a wrench is a fair test, especially of Chinese quality
I have ordered a couple times off of Temu and noticed that shipping does take longer and u can’t track it. I received a product that was defective and told Temu about my problem and without hesitation refunded my $ back. So w the savings that I saw I’ll probably continue to order from them if I’m not in any hurry to receive the product. Great video.
One of the nice things (I think) is that you don't need to return stuff you're not satisfied with. It may not be 'as advertised', but even if it's not great, maybe you can still get some use out of it...
Good tube! My only question is why didn't you know all the router bit were 1/4 drive? was there not a description? Not sticking up for Temu, i used them, but won't anymore mainly because of the shipping!
Great question! Yes, that is correct. I even went back and read through the description and all it said was "Standard" I believe. Probably should have know that standard was 1/4''! Thanks for watching casual257!
Amazon tends to be more expensive, but if I do not like it or it is defective (with Prime) I can send it back and do not have to fight with the seller like with AliExpress.
100% agree! Very rarely does amazon put up a fuss at all. Really important to me. You get the money back as soon as you ship it, and they send you emails through the whole process. Thanks so much for watching Kaunas888!
Oh good! I'm glad you have been having success! It's been kind of a crap shoot for me. I've purchased one other time from them, and got two things that worked and two things that didn't. In fact I just threw away a hammer yesterday that I got from there (the head fell off!). Thanks so much for watching Michelbeck!
it is all returnable if you have the package that it came in. sometimes on small items they just say keep it and give you a refund. Also, if the package arrives late, you get a $5 credit.
I have bought dozens of router bits. I have been happy with every one. As for your square, mine came in perfect condition and after tightening the screws it works great.
What a great idea! 🍻 you’re using 7/8” deep unistrut, for that extra torque or wider pieces, they make 1-5/8” deep unistrut as well, although you may need to find a specialized dealer for that. Thanks for the tips ✊🏽
I bought a bunch of phillips head bits and bit holders, a pencil, some hand tools and I have mo complaints with any of them. The only problem I've have so far is some dill bits that have broken on first try. I will be buying other stuff and see what happens. If you hit track order you can see where your order is and I haven't had any trouble sending back anything.
Thank you so much for sharing Kreacher, love to hear everyone's experience with temu. I've been eying some drill bits on there too. Thank you so much as I will probably look else where now. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
@@FlynndoggWoodwork I think the best purchase so far was the 13in tool bag. I bought similar bag from the same manufacturer for 5 times the price on Amazon.
Temu is a portal with different suppliers. A lot of the products are identical to the cheap stuff you buy from a branded manufacturer locally. There are plenty of cheap products you buy which are crap, the difference is here you are basically buying direct from the manufacturer, so it's cheaper/ Were I buying something expensive, it would be worth researching but most of the stuff works to some degree. Read the ads carefully and check the options, as you might only be buying some part of a product instead of the whole thing. Delivery was fast also. I think we need to remember your stuff is probably being handled by some poorly paid worker who is rushing to get the order out, which is why the boxes are mangled occasionally.
I’ve got the massca pocket hole jig that Temu copied and it’s great no plastic all aluminum and sturdy as hell I mounted it to some plywood that can be moved around and hung up when you’re done 👍
@@FlynndoggWoodwork Temu don't make or copy anything. Temu is just an aggregator, just like Amazon, but based in China/Singapore/Hong-Kong, and with offices in Dublin...
The pocket hole jig and the undersized guides. Wouldn't that be easily sorted just by running a drill through it a few times - the drill would soon enlarge the hole enough that it wouldn't bind. Sees an easy fix for a toll that is otherwise so good! Also, I understand your concerns about the possible quality issues with stuff from Temu - but please add the links to the items you found. Add all the caveats you like, but at least give us the chance to buy the same products you bought - there are a LOT of pocket hole jigs and sharpening guides out there, and you seem to have found some good ones (despite the issues you found with them)
Great points on both. The undersized drill guides completely ruined the bits, which was unfortunate. And they had to be reglued into place, was afraid to use some of my personal bits on the system as I didn't want to ruin any more bits. I tried to initially leave the Temu links but the problem with Temu, is their product lineup changes so much and you can't get the same tools. I spent way to much time trying to find the exact items I showed on the video, and I either couldn't find them or they were differentt products. Great points on both and I probably should have explained better. Thanks for watching Adamc!
The only things that belong it the trash are the wrench (which wasn't) and the T-square. I'm curious, were the angle gauge and honing guide sold together in a kit or separately? Either way it's bit unfair to rate the system as as junk because the parts came separately. It's a well made tool, and works as it should. It's probably made in the same factory as your $150 affiliate linked version at a fraction of the cost. "A high likelihood something would get lost in the mail," why exactly? Have you ever had something lost in international mail? Granted the shipping industry everywhere does lose items, but it's rare. Especially among developed countries. Had it not arrived Temu would have sent you another if you'd have taken the time to inform them of the issue. As a matter of fact they have been known to grant compensatory credit for items that arrive even 1 day later than the due date. The Enjoywood pocket hole jig is an excellent tool. Did it occur to you that the bit was the problem? Does it seem reasonable that a piece of equipment with such exacting tolerances and obviously high fit and finish would simply fail to drill a pocket hole? Why would you not even try another bit then contact Enjoywood or Temu about replacing the it? Even if it wasn't the bit, and something like the guide bushings, contact them about the problem. Manufacturers of everything have lemons slip through QA from time to time. Give them a chance to make things right, before throwing a well regarded tool into a trash can.
Well to answer some of your questions, yes, I have had multiple things get lost in the mail on international orders and US orders, including high dollar items such as a solar panel which had a value of $400. I do a lot of online shopping and I have 3-4 packages a year get "lost in the mail". So maybe my experience is not normal, but it happens quite frequently. The Enjoywood pocket hole jig came with the drill bit, so if they can't do quality control to check to see if the bit can fit in their system, than that is a major problem. If I would have paid money for these items, I would have tried to return them, but the website didn't even show the same items I ordered when I tried to look up the tool after I discovered the problem. For the honing guide system, I had completed the video prior to receiving the entire tool. That is why I added that clip at a later time. It was a week difference in the time I got the angle guide and the honing guide, so I was a little confused. I hope your experience is better but for me, I'm sticking with buying items on more reputable websites at this time.
@@RaistlinVideos Well I got it two weeks after the first part, and had no way to track it. I wasn't going to recommend a tool that was unable to be tracked and had no communication that it was coming. Thanks for watching!
@@Tommy.461 Well, I did try the Kreg bit after that, and had the same results. It would be nice if you could replace the bushings, but unfortunately you can't and they were destroyed when I inserted the first bit.
You said items can't be tracked, I've bought quite a lot of items from Temu and every item was tracked and i could see exactly where in the world my package was and an estimated day of arrival.
Hi, enjoyed your honest review on the products you received from Temu. Everybody in the US seems to have the same problem with Temu packaging. You all seem to receive damaged goods from Temu due to the packaging. I have bought a lot of stuff from Temu and none of the stuff that I have bought has arrived with the packaging beaten up like what yours appear to be. Maybe our delivery service takes a bit better care with goods entrusted to them than what yours does.
thanks so much for watching Terry and commenting. I'm wondering if our customs area, gives it a little more rough treatment. I don't buy a bunch from overseas, but I'm guessing that is part of it. I just recorded a second video on Temu that I'm editing right now, and i had many of the same issues.
I've never had an issue with Temu and buy from them monthly and have saved thousands of dollars on products that cost 3 to 4 times as much had I sourced them locally and I'll probably buy the sharpening tool and the pocket hole jig can you send me the links to the one's you bought please
The links are in the description matolittleewells to amazon, when I tried to find the ones I bought again on Temu, they simply weren't there. Thank you for sharing your experience with them, sounds like a lot of people have different experiences. Thanks for watchign!
I purchased the same pocket hole jig (mine is blue), used it several times and so far no problems. Temu has an equally liberal return policy as Amazon. A $26 item I purchased did not work on arrival. They immediately send me another one. I didn't even have to return the broken item.
Great to know Kurtwn! Thanks for sharing. I wish I had your luck with the pocket hole jig. I was really excited about it until that bit issue. Thanks for watching!
Why haven't you gaved the temu & amazon alternative links? It would be nice to give also the temu links at least for good things, not only the amazon. Also, to know for what bad things to what to avoid... Overall, good idea for the products you show that what is good and what not. But give all the links to have a good comparison. Cheers!
Great question, the problem was I couldn’t find the exact same product on temu again. They seem to only have the items available when they are in stock from a particular lot and then the tool disappears and shows up with a different link. Thanks so much for watching!
Np. Thanks for answering. That's another good thing to know about them. Unlisting products means they do only some amount and then stop. i suppose if the product do well they might bring it back... who knows. Cheers!@@FlynndoggWoodwork
I enjoyed the video, however I'm disappointed that he didn't link the items he purchased on Temu. Your entitled to your opinion as to the quality, but show me the courtesy of allowing me to make the decision as to whether I want to purchase something. I was really interested in the sharpening fixture and honing guide. I just purchased some use chisels off FB Marketplace and I would like to sharpen them, but I don't have the budget to purchase the $150 honing system from amazon. It would be helpful to have a link to the one he purchased since at least I have an idea of how good it is and how well it works.

The main reason for any openings in packaging is caused by customs the way they open boxes and parcel post bags is they cut them or sometimes rip them open then they will re-tape the package with packing tape hence the reason for the way packages look when you receive them

@@FlynndoggWoodwork Actually, no. After watching your video I thought I'd go look at them for the first time. I wound up buying a heap of stuff, some for sure will be junk but, a lot was stuff they couldn't get too wrong so for the prices, I should do OK. I did notice a lot were about to run out of stock so maybe they don't keep constant supplies of most, or anything and it's pot luck whatever they happen to have at any given time. I looked for one of those small routers and while they didn't have the one I saw, they did have a couple of different ones and, one was even a brushless one, supposedly with variable speed. Looking at the pic where you can see the so called speed dial, it looks more like a slide type on/off switch with a number stamped on it. I looked hard as I could and couldn't see any hint of brush holders so that may be true. They were up around the $60 mark though and a lot of prices were higher than I was expecting from everything I've heard so, maybe the "gold rush" is over and they're starting to concentrate on slightly better quality but, raising prices too. Either way, I snapped up a pile of what I think they can't go too far wrong on.

I’ve been ordering from Temu for over a year now, and almost everything I have received has been the exact same quality as what I have ordered from Amazon. Granted, I have bought A LOT of silicone molds compared to the number of tools. I did buy 4 of the shelf hinges, and they do seem very sturdy. The purchase that I’ve been the most impressed with - both quality and price - is a set of 4 black metal table legs for around $22. I had looked at the same type of table legs at Lowe’s, but they were $10 each. I took a chance with Temu, and what I received was EXACTLY the same thing I saw at Lowe’s. The only difference was the ones from Temu also came with little plastic protective caps to put on the bottoms. Now, I have received a few crappy things too, and I just submitted a refund request. Their packaging methods are what has caused most of the issues for me. I can’t get a good resin casting from a mold that has a permanent crease from being folded and crammed into a bag. 🤦🏽♀️ Also, their shipping seems to have gotten slightly faster over the last month or so. My mail carrier and FedEx showed up for deliveries at the same time not long ago, and they were joking about the massive volume of Temu packages they deliver. Whoops! 😂 Anyway, thanks for making this video. I subbed and look forward to watching more of your content.
Oh nice! Thank you so much for sharing this beckie! Those are some great idea of items to get from Temu! Now you have me wanting to look at some of those items. Thanks so much for sharing and watching!
I have used Temu for many items, yes some were unsuitable and they always gave a full credit without returning the utem. Delivery times usually 8 to ten days with usually 3 days in Australian customs.
I totally agree with you. I assume you are talking about the router bits. They work ok, after a few months use. I definitely default to my main bits when I rout something, but I do reach for these bits when I don't have the one I need. Thanks so much for watching!
Nice video. I have made quite a few orders from Temu. You are right about the time of delivery. Fortunately they have a place in Sweden to make the shipping from. That saves us in Denmark a hell of a lot of money in VAT- Import taxes, handling fees and the list is without ending. I have tried to order some wooden chips that goes between the neck and the body on a guitar or bass. It is very simple chips of wood that was priced to 5 $ in the USA. When I got them I had to pay an extra 250 $ in cost, handling fees and taxes, so I am done buying in America. I can't understand why the Americans don't make the same arrangement. It would save us a huge amount of money and give the companies much more sale. About the quality I have the same experience as you. Some things are just crap but I mostly buy screws, nuts, bolts, router and drilling equipment, ball bearings and that stuff is just as good as from our local stores. They have gone down in quality too as they have been turned into "supermarkets" with the same goods in stock in stead of specialized shops. I am looking forward to your next video. Cheers, JohnnyH-DK
I love hearing from viewers from other countries. So interesting to hear your perspective from buying tools in Denmark. I think you have the right idea, sticking with things like screws nuts and bolts, etc. as you really can't go wrong with those. Thanks so much for watching and commenting Johnny! I really appreciate it!
If you need it that much you buy a good quality one. But I’ve found it nice to have the variety for one off projects. And this looks like a great way to get a quick look at what it’s going to look like Just my opinion. But you are correct they are probably not production quality bitch, but I’m not a production shop and the variety would be nice.

Take that T-square out of the TRASH and remove the straight edge and us it and put the other part back in the TRASH. Might be a good straight edge, maybe.
You and I think so much alike! I actually tried that! Oh nice, that is good to know. Temu gave me those items for free and gave me very little information on their policies, so that's why I didn't really cover them. Thanks for sharing and watchign Jim!
The honing guide is actually very good. Sturdy, well built and accurate. The only downside is you can’t sharpen 1/8” chisels. I think when you use it, it will become your go to guide for sharpening…. Much easier than the Veritas.
That's great to know Brian, it felt like it was very well made. I really like the fact that those wheels are so far apart, seems like it will be a chinese clap in the end. I was just so surprised when I first got it and only got the one piece. Thanks so much for sharing and thanks for watching Brian!
Chinese factories are notorious for selling products that they were contracted to manufacture by the companies that originally designed them. Like that pocket hole jig. They used to sell off QA rejects domestically but I suspect that aggregators like Temu are selling some of these. Patents are very hard to get in China (unless you're the presidents daughter) and very difficult and expensive to enforce. I have gotten some great deals om Temu, but I try to avoid obvious infringements. Also some security pros have cautioned me about installing their app on my phone.
I’ve taken a chance on a couple of Temu purchases. These items were both relatively inexpensive so I was prepared to write off the cost. The first one was a router lift and plate for £16.00 ($20.00) which was very well made and works perfectly. The second was a £4.00 ($5.00) “Powerful” LED flashlight which was quite lightweight and not very powerful at all. So I guess that, if the price is tempting enough to take the risk, it’s worth the gamble.
That's awesome to hear Colinwilde! Sounds like you picked a couple of real winners there. That's a great price on that router lift and plate! I'm jealous! Thanks so much for sharing and letting everyone know about these two choices!
@@FlynndoggWoodwork Two things about the router lift: 1. It fits standard trim routers. 2. It comes with a hex head crank for raising and lowering but I just use it for fine adjustment. For faster movement I use a rechargeable screwdriver with a hex bit.
I have purchased from TEMU and the value of everything purchased has exceeded the cost. The packaging is not very good, but a short text or email or phone call has credited my account almost immediately. They have 1/2" shank router bits that are a great value. They also have not asked for the return of the couple of items that were damaged. (Shop vac filters) So a little tape and a dab of hot glue got me free filters. Their photographers are masters of making items look bigger so check dimensions. Good video. Thanks Rob
Hi Flynndogg - thanks for the video, but I do need to disagree with some of your reviews - the shipping boxes and packaging, yes, it can improve, but considering they do come from the other side of the world, a box will also get crushed, so I think the plastic sort of half-ass-way makes %15 sense. I have ordered three times now, and every time they have come within 5 - 10 days - no two weeks or three ... I do really like the way they track it too, they tell you exactly where the package is - in today's world of the internet and scannings, that is an easy thing to accomplish. The prices are good for a lot of products, and for the ones that miss-advertise, they do give you a refund right away - so I have no issues trying something, and if it breaks or whatever, they have a good process to refund you - I also understand that a lot of products advertised by US companies are actually built in China and a cheaper version of it is agreed to be made and sold by China in the deal - I really do not want to EVER pay $18 for a fkg PENCIL...it matters not what it does unless it serves me a readhead woman - 25 years old with 35-22-40 measurements 5' 5" would be fine.
Cheep Chinese router bits seem to last. I bought a set of 50 from the Homier truck 20 years ago, and they still work. Most never left the rack, but one I used to make over 40 feet of Brazilian Cherry molding, and that one still works. It's good to have a lot of bits so maybe you can match up to existing contours. Even the bearing held up. I have several high quality bits and each one cost more than that whole set.
Awesome! Thanks so much for sharing good to know! I've used those bits a couple of times. Some I've had more success with than others, but the basic ones seem to work. I appreciate you watching and sharing!
Another UA-camr said their return policy is excellent and if you get a store credit, it is instant. I've received two orders and only a couple of cheap things, (tape and CA glue) were junk. Watch a lot of these reviews and you will get a sense of what is good and what isn't.
Well, I agree with you, you can't know the long term reliability of the bit, but this is one of of those things that I'm literally going to use maybe once every couple of years. Probably should have tested it more! Thanks for watching Mr Nofilter!
The honing guides bearing wheels are farther apart than necessary. Makes it difficult to use on a narrow sharpening substrate. Weird design choice. On a 2 3/8 smoothing plane blade it’ll be extra frustrating. Oh you mentioned in a few seconds later. Haha well done.
Great comment FearsomeWarrior, I'm actually in the barn right now, and you made me think. Those wheels will run off my Diamond stones if I'm doing larger plane blades. Works well for chisels, but plane blades are going to be an issue, unless I am doing my block plane. Great catch and great comment!
Well 2 reasons. !) I couldn't even find the same products when I went to try and leave links, and 2) I wasn't impressed with the quality, so I didn't want to lead someone to a bad experience. Thanks for watching.
Yep I’ve got some screwed up stuff on Temu due to the lousy packaging. It usually comes in a plastic bag just every thing you order just gets stuffed in the bag.
Looks like that pocket hole jig only needs guides slightly redrilled. I would keep it. Also Amazon can loose your package and act like nothing happened hoping customer won't notice. Nobody's perfect. Good video overall, 1.25x works great😊
Thanks for the feedback krashan! I've had pretty good luck with amazon. Never had them question something when it got lost in transit. I appreciate you watching!
@@bulldogboy100 good to know. Sounds like they have some inconsistencies in their manufacture. I was so excited about it until the actual use of it. Thank you so much for sharing and watching!
It seems a lot like the Harbor Freight equation, how many times am I going to need/use a tool plus how likely am I to lose the tool, verses cost. But the cheaper tools seem like a value. Thanks for the Saturday video, enjoy your weekend.
Thanks so much Pat! I would rate Harbor Frieght tools a little higher on the tools scale, just because you know you can always return it. That is my main problem with Temu, its kind of like the way the US used to be in the 20's and 30's before there were any consumer protection. There is no recourse if something is complete junk! Thanks so much for watching as always Pat!
Hi Brian...I would not even try that wrench as it could easily ruin the nuts/bolts and if you didn't have a vise grip type tool to hand in order to remedy the situation then you would be screwed....better in my view to use a small inexpensive adjustable spanner as would be my preference if I didn't have a correct sized spanner to hand. I am disappointed at the pocket hole jig...so nearly a perfect tool. I have a solidly built Trend Pocket Jig Pro (same as Masca) and love it, especially for the dust extraction and support rods. That Chinese version looks fantastic and appears to have an even better depth adjustment jig...such a pity they didn't pay just a little more attention to detail with the fit of the drill bit to the guides...shows enormous potential though.. A
I totally agree with you on both points. In fact on those lag screws if you look closely, it was marring up the screws pretty badly so that's why I migrated over to a normal nut and bolt. An its so funny you mention that Trend Pocket Jig. I've been really impressed with that Masca. I'm toying with the idea of getting that since I will be making so much shop furniture after the renovation. Nothing wrong with the Kreg, I just like new toys and heard great things about it. I also was thinking about checking out that Kreg Forman, but I'm not sure I want something that big, although it does look really nice! Thanks so much as always for watchign and sharing!
All orders I've made in New South Wales Australia take 4-5 business days. with over 150 purchases I can't say I'm not happy with anything quality wise. I will agree with packaging issues however.
Oh that's awesome! Sounds like they get to Australia much faster. I just ordered some more items from them for an upcoming video and had a little bit of a faster experience with 9 days delivery, so getting better I guess! Thanks so much for watching!
Temu have an on shore warehouse in Australia so all orders are delivered on shore so there is no waiting for the items to come from international delivery from China 👍😊
Don't forget using items in real world events. Because that pencil, how does the lead hold up of you drop it once or twice? The wrench works as well as your fingers. The step bits were used on the thinnest sheet metal I have ever seen. Try using it on a exterior door for a peep hole or a pass through on your fire wall of your car. Somewhere you would use in real life.
Yessir, it is definitely a crap shoot. I would say I get good stuff about 50% of the time. So sometimes it's worth rolling the dice! Thanks so much for watching Steve, really appreciate it!
I'm getting ready to do a second video on Temu. Just purchased a bunch of new items from them and judging from the packaging (I haven't opened it yet). It's going to be a mess as well! :( THansk so much for watching litahsr!
That is great to know Pat! Doesn't surprise me. When I tried to find the same pencil to post a link, i couldn't even find it again (at least the same one I got). That's another reason why I chose not to leave any temu links in my description. I could not find the exact same things I had ordered just a month ago! Thanks for sharing your experience and thanks for watching!
Honing guide: tried it. Looked great, couldn’t get a decent grip on most chisels (didn’t try plane irons). It’s a complete knock-off of a Woodpeckers honing guide, which I haven’t tried - maybe it doesn’t hold tools securely either. My verdict: total waste of $.
I know, I completely agree, it is a complete knock off of the woodpeckers honing guide. There is one I've tried since then made by Goingmake that seems to do a pretty decent job. That is the one I use now. thanks for watching John!
I found that one on amazon for around $40. seems like a good contraption. Thanks for the tip, and I'm enjoying your videos. Subscribed.@@FlynndoggWoodwork
Weird. I left a comment, but it looks like it was taken down. Excellent review as always. Yours and other Temu reviews indicate that the quality of Temu products is either hit or miss. I avoid buying from them because of the articles I've read that state that some Temu products have been created using forced labor. I posted a link to an article, but that may have been what caused UA-cam to remove my comment. Regardless, keep up the great work, Bryan!
Oh wierd! I bet that article is what caused UA-cam to remove your comment. Yeah, I agree with you 100% I think I'm sticking with good old amazon from here on out. It's just to unpredictable and if there is any truth to what your saying, even more reason to stick to amazon! Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching as always Ted!
Nice job. I believe you gave a very credible presentation. That said, I personally use a variety of cheap tools. It's a matter of risk assessment. I buy quality when I need real accuracy and dependability, but for everyday stuff that gets knocked around a lot I go for Walmart number two or similar from Harbor Freight. I am more then pleased with my Delta contractor table saw and Milwaukee wireless drill and equally happy with my Harbor Freight band saw and planer.
That's a great way to do it hrbricker! I think you have a plan that a lot of us should follow. For those more critical tools, spend a little extra money. For those one offs it's worth rolling the dice. THanks so much for commenting and watching!
if you run the drill through the pockethole jig a couple of times it will loosen up and work, at least it did for the other person on UA-cam I saw review it
Well, I did try that. The hole actually came out of the jig though and I guess I could glue it back in, but it was so hard to get the whole off the bit, It basically destroyed the bit. I actually had to use clamps and a vice to get one the holes off the bit! Thank you so much for watching mrnegativity! :)
Thanks for reviewing these products. It really helps me feel confident about buying the good tools that you've tried out. However, I think your summary is a bit inaccurate. You found one genuine piece of crap, the T-Square. The pocket hole jig, I couldn't tell whether the drill bit was too big for the guide, or whether the sleeve was loose in the jig. A bit of super glue solves the latter. And I'd definitely buy the sharpening guide. But your summary sounded like at least half of the stuff was crap, which is inaccurate. Also, I've ordered several things from Temu, and they generally arrive in about 7-10 day, which is pretty good, considering Amazon takes 3-5 day to deliver to the boonies of Maine. I wouldn't order stuff from Temu if I needed it right away. Are these things actually shipped direct from China, or is there a shortcut to Maine? I haven't tried to return anything, so I can't speak to their return policies. Thanks Again!
Thank you so much for sharing Jim! I like to hear everyone's experiences with Temu. Yeah, unfortunately that pocket hole jig, ruined the drill bit by completely scrapping the sharp edges off. And the collar on the jig, could be glued back in, but, I am hesitant to use it with any other drill bits as I don't want to ruin any of my other Kreg ones. Thanks so much for watchign!
Yeah variable quality, so thank you for taking the risk for us. I got the same pencil from Aliexpress for about five Aussie bucks, and the local hardware sells almost identical ones for $20AUD so that was a good deal, also got a rig for a Dremel that turns it into an tiny palm router that's also extremely good off Temu, then next thing I got a head lamp and it was a no claps thing.
That's awesome! Thank you so much for sharing some of the successful items you have gotten. Love hearing items that might be a good option to get from this website. Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching and commenting!
lol sounds like a great reason to never ever shop there
Aliexpress sellers pull the same trick..

@@FlynndoggWoodwork Maybe the collars were a metric size, did you try a suitable metric drill bit?
The stuff that costs $100+ isn't trash.
You know that never crossed my mind about customs. Good point! Thanks so much for sharing and watching Mr Johnnyboyrebel!

I would have tried another bit. Put a little locktite on the bushing and reinstalled it.
LOL. Dude is like "Tool is well made. Parts shipped separately. It's crap!"
@@RaistlinVideos Well I got it two weeks after the first part, and had no way to track it. I wasn't going to recommend a tool that was unable to be tracked and had no communication that it was coming. Thanks for watching!

Delivery and hand gesturing is super distracting.
@@justinoff1 Thanks for your feedback and thanks for watching!
Unlisting products means they do only some amount and then stop. i suppose if the product do well they might bring it back... who knows.

Thanks so much Fr.Z I had every intention of leaving links to all of the products I purchased, but the biggest problem was, I couldn't find them again. The good news is, I know they are available on banggood. Might want to check those out. Thanks so much for commenting and watching!
@@FlynndoggWoodwork I'm glad you took my comments in the spirit of which they were intended. Looking back at it now, it appears to me that I came across more harshly than I intended. As for not finding the products afterward, I can certainly understand not being able to find the products again, I've run into that myself several times on many different sites. Thanks for letting me know. Yours and another video peeked my curiosity, so I went ahead a purchased two things off Temu for the first time last week. I don't think I'll make a habit of it though, I just don't like not knowing what the quality of the product is. I bought some silicon brushes, so I'm not real worried about items like that, but I just not a gambler. I have purchased many product from Temu and some i needed to return with no problem because of the product arrived damaged or I was not satisfied with the product. Temu except my request for a refund and gave a choice to keep the product and they will credited my account or throw the product away and they will still credit my account equal to the refund amount. I think for the four times i asked for a refund out of many, many items that is not to bad.
However, I must thank you for an Excellent video and service. Your video was very informative. Bless You.
Thank you so much weekendwarrior! thank you so much for sharing your experience with temu! I think it does have it's spot in purchasing some items for sure. You really can't beat the prices and for items that are simple, you just can't beat them. Thanks again and bless you as well! :)

Just looking through your back catalog of videos, have you ever made anything you’ve recorded?
My last two videos were project videos. You must not have looked that closely!
I call it winning the Temu lottery when I get something good. Truthfully that happens way more than not. Occasionally I get trash but for the most part some good finds
Yeah, it's a tough call. I'm about 60% winners and 40% trash at this point. I actually just recorded another video on Temu this week and 3/5 were good and two junk! Thanks so much for watching Scott!
I will look for the video. Ironically I just ordered a third leg square like the one you referenced in one of your videos this week. Post office misdelivered it though so I need to reorder. BTW their replacement policy is excellent. Last time the post office mis delivered a package they gave me an instant refund, no questions asked
@@scottandrews9519 Good to know. It's funny you mentioned that, they mis-delivered all of my items I ordered for my latest video (not released yet). When I went online to see what why it was delivered them to my neighbor, they had actually changed the deliver address to them which was strange because I don't even know my neighbors address!
The main reason for any openings in packaging is caused by customs the way they open boxes and parcel post bags is they cut them or sometimes rip them open then they will re-tape the package with packing tape hence the reason for the way packages look when you receive them
Gotcha, thanks!
Thanks for your reviews. I’ll try some of these tools.

How can you determine the actual quality of the router bits by 30 seconds of use? Even the poorest quality router bit will seemingly perform right out of the box. Please let us know how long the bits last with some regular use before rating them.
Oh I hear you, my goal with this channel is to be transparent and if I encounter any problems after regular use of a product I plan on sharing it. Thanks for watching!

I totally agree John! Worth checking out if you need that one off tool, etc. I'm actually the most excited about that honing guide set-up now that I have all the pieces (other than the router bits). What happened to the promised links to the decent tools from Temu?
Well, that is a great question. When I went to go find the same tools, I could not find those exact tools on Temu's website again (I don't know if some of them sold out, or if they sell so many of the same types of tools that when they sell out of something, they just pull the item off). Since I had such a blah... experience with Temu I left amazon links instead. However you may have better luck if you search for them on Temu's website...
@@lorditsprobingtime6668 First of all love your username! Sounds like you picked up some great items. It's kind of fun going through their website and taking a gamble on things. You experienced the same thing I did with finding items I wanted. Lots of items are only on there for a short period of time. I suspect they have a lot of buyers who have limited stock. But I guess it doesn't matter if you are able to get it while in stock. Thanks so much for your comment!

I haven't got any of the stuff I ordered but, even if a quarter is any good, I'll have done OK. I've been wasting money on Amazon and Ali Express buying nick nacky, hopefully useful junk for ages, it is addictive lol.
Are you sure that the enjoy wood pocket screw jig did not have differing sized holes for different sized dowels, and that there were other drills of different sizes in the package. I have seen a number of videos about the 😮enjoy wood pocket hole jig and the were mainly positive.
Great question Norman. Yes, I used the bit that came with the tool and I tried it out on all holes and had the same issue. I may have just gotten a bad unit, but hopefully they have fixed that problem! Thanks for watching!

Appreciate it!!! Started looking at Temu tools for a starter set for grandson. How about warranty? Is anything garanteed? If so, how good is the warranty?
Those are all great questions. I've heard that they have a free return policy, The warranties I have not heard too much on. Or at least too much positive on. They are basically a 3rd party selling for manufacturers.

Take that T-square out of the TRASH and remove the straight edge and us it and put the other part back in the TRASH. Might be a good straight edge, maybe.
You and I think so much alike! I actually tried that! I took the straight edge out and then carefully tried to bend it back straight, but the problem was when I was tapping it flat, it actually ended up having little buckles in it, so I couldn't even get it straight! At the end, you said that you would stick with Amazon because you could return items. Did you know Temu actually has a better return policy than Amazon?
All great points ruraloregon, thank you so much for sharing and thanks for watching!
@@FlynndoggWoodwork
Two things about the router lift:
1. It fits standard trim routers.
2. It comes with a hex head crank for raising and lowering but I just use it for fine adjustment. For faster movement I use a rechargeable screwdriver with a hex bit.
@@colinwilde7178 Oh nice! Kind of nice to have a lift for a trim router! Thank you so much for sharing!
Thanks for sharing your experience wizardmaster! Really appreciate it, and thanks for watching!

Thanks so much Pat! I would rate Harbor Frieght tools a little higher on the tools scale, just because you know you can always return it. @@FlynndoggWoodwork Temu do have a return policy...
@@paullalekna5478 Yep, that is correct!

I'm getting ready to do a second video on Temu. Just purchased a bunch of new items from them and judging from the packaging (I haven't opened it yet). It's going to be a mess as well! :( THansk so much for watching litahsr!
Your lucky on the pencil, I ordered two and did not get the colored refills with either, only black leads.
You might not have selected the right (But not always easy to spot) option switch button
Taymoo or Teemoo?
Great question. Potato, poetato! :). Thanks for watching!
I appreciate your honest and straight forward style.
Thanks so much Michaelthyfault and thanks for watching!
Thank you for saving me the money. Personally I'll stick to Rivers and the Lakes that Im used to.
Signs signs, everywhere theres signs! Now I've got that song in my head! I loved teslas remake. Thanks so much for watchign cwb8047!
How did you get these products for free?
They sent them to me since I have this youtube channel. They are sending a lot of free items to people with youtube channels right now.
Router bits, 1 cut does not give a fair assessment.
I 100% agree with you, these will be backup router bits for sure. Thanks so much for watching James
Loved it 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much David! I appreciate you watching! :)
Then you would have got your money back on the hdlamp if you had asked!
Very interesting I am a big temu customer and like yourself I find good with the bad
Yep, it's a mixed bag it seems. Some good things you can get for a steel and others, are total junk. Thanjks so much for watchign John!
