Embrace off-grid living, find peace in nature, conquer fears. Solo camping fosters growth. Choose real food, prioritize well-being. Enjoy the journey!
I hope you're finding your joy. Sending Love 🌹💖🌹🖖
I wonder if snow shoes would work? It’s a similar problem with snow
Things to do while boondocking: read a good book, play video games, have an old movie marathon, write letters or poetry, or songs if you’re into that.. Do a makeover, cook something new- definitely have a fire, Google fun meals to cook on an open fire. Puzzles or word searches, even coloring books and drawing or painting… things to keep you occupied yet still in the moment would probably be good. I honestly would’ve played in the mud, it’s so good for our skin and you have the water there to make sure it’s all off when you’re done. I’ve heard that mud from the bottom of those springs makes for the perfect mud mask, so you might want to take a small container with you and give it a try when you’re in a place you can shower after.
I don’t like to be alone in the middle of nowhere but I think every once in a while, two- three days at a place like that would be very enjoyable.
Safe travels, Tori. Be blessed.
I forgot to ask what is the name of that gorgeous peaceful nature scene music and what is the name of the composer/ musician or what is the name of the CD ??? I like the last song too where you are riding the bike too!! You not only make great videos, but the music you choose is very beautiful and fitting to the scenes!!!
Looks like a great place to getaway and refresh 😎👍
Certified Organic or Project Verified Non GMO foods will make a world of difference on your health and mind!!! Also unfortunately that so called, "Natural flavors," ingredient found in almost every thing, I've heard affects your memory and moods alot, because I heard it is really the additive MSG which isn't natural at all!!!
Bty, I just love this beautiful peaceful video with the beautiful nature scenes, and matching peaceful music!!! It got me emotional!!! The photography was very good too!!! Thank you for your all your wonderful videos and sharing your feelings!!! I really admire you how you take risks to enjoy life more (with safe precautions at the same time of course), as I need to do the same, instead of living in fear only to exist!! I hope you were able to experienced the total Eclipse on April 8th!! It was a profound experience that Myself and many others will never forget!!!!
☆TORY☆ Absolutely beautiful ! The hot springs were serene😊 and you captured that with excellent filming and editing . Great job ! Please be careful out there ❤
I think getting going on the van more will help your spirits some. Making progress on a project makes me feel better. And as the build progresses, and you get your actual bed in place and things come together where you can have spaces to put things away, your life will be as nice as your surroundings. I think just the ability to organize a little more will help your spirits tremendously. I just finished a shake down run in my vintage trailer. It felt great after two years of work. Keep up the interesting videos.
Love your videos. You might want to invest in an inexpensive pump garden sprayer to use until you get a camping/rv shower.
Really proud of you for getting out of your comfort zone. 👏👏
This break seems to have done you the world of good.
Love the video. 🤗
I enjoy being off grid. Some of the things I do are hike and look for bugs, birds, little animals, big animals, different and unique things in nature. Sit silently and listen to the sounds of nature. I like to bicycle, hike, fish, take pictures, enjoy the sky, clouds, sun, moon, and stars. Whatever there is to see or hear. I can even enjoy reading a good book. I hope that helps you with ideas of things to do.
I’m glad you got out of the city! The hot springs for sun rise looked beautiful! When I’m off grid I like to hike, read, paint, look at plants, watch birds or bugs, I like to look for animal tracks. A fire and star gazing are also awesome 😊
Hi Tory
I would get a cheap camping mat chop it into fridge size squares and stack under the fridge. You can use double sided tape to hold them together but it probably isn’t needed
Thank you for sharing this journey with us. As an avid cyclist and bike tourer, just a safety note (don't worry, I'm not gonna go all helmet-crazy); never wear headphones while riding since you can't hear incoming traffic, and always ride with traffic on the right side of the road, never ever against traffic on the left. If you need music, and we definitely do sometimes, rock the bluetooth speaker instead. Basic safety stuff, but if you don't know, you don't know. Seen too many riders hit and killed ignoring basic safety, so I wanted to pass that along to help you stay safe.
Enjoy the journey Tory! Can't wait to follow the build.
Hey Tory how come it’s taken u so long to do the van build. I remember your previous videos u we’re tackling it .. and now it looks like it’s taking for ever what happen to the eagerness to conquer every obstacle . I hope you get that vitality and energy back .. I just feel so bad 😢 to see you in a bare bones van ..
She's been depressed didn't see friends and it pushed her motivation out the window plus the supplies and expensive I still gotta re do mine
At first I was like WHAT she has never boondocked!? But then it was oh yeah I never have seen her do that. I do a mix of both and even sometimes just go out with a backpack and tarp camp. I have always been big on preparation for where and what you are going to encounter, and even being ready for the unexpected.
Tory, stay safe, and have a blast! Glad you are growing and experiencing new things.
And I’ve learned to watch out what you’re posting about where you’re sleeping in your van, because you can have stalkers following your channel. They may seem like they’re your “fan” but are also following your every move. Just be aware and stay safe. I’m glad you have weapons for protection.
Great little adventure in this one!
Your thoughts about needing more water made me think of an earlier comment you made in the video about rain making the area muddy.
Do you think you could rig something to collect rain water coming off your van into some kind of collapsable bucket? Can't say for sure it would be good for consumption, because who knows what would be washing off the van, but it would have been perfect for rinsing off your feet or washing equipment or the exterior of the van.
Looking forward to seeing more adventures and your build!
ahh the gentle caress of mud between ya toes and the delicate slippy slidy dance as you glide to your destination.. what a feeling!! kia ora mate, youre doing just fine! van camping has got to be vamping. could you use the trax boards to help leveling? check out the planet fitness news lately, n stay safe.
youre skin looks better, you look healthier and happier. im not sure if youre noticing the growth and depth of character youre developing, im liking this new adventurous tory, shes pretty cool. have a great week, you rock!!! ps how could you forget a hair tie? stay awesome!!
So proud of you for taking this step! There are so many beautiful places for you to see. As someone who’s greatly struggled with similar social anxieties it’s so awesome seeing other’s progress :))
Everyone needs a break from the chaos and noise around us. Off-grid is an option that tests what you can live without. Peace, sincerity, diet, and a clear mind will do wonders. I'm happy that you trying and of course, believing you can do this. I would like to commend you for your choice of camera setups and editing. I keep watching to see how you're doing. Be safe.
Great video. Good to see your finding your comfort zone. I like to have a fire and cook when I’m off grid.Video games help too.
Great video! Thanks for taking us along with you! Oh, and great legs as well!
Tory shoots whip cream into her mouth as she says I feel so much better now that I am making better food choices.
Hahaha I noticed that when I edited it & thought it was funny but also… like I usually eat candy & cereal so… Cool whip has 0% fat & only 1g of sugar (I know cause I’m eating some right now while I type this hahaha) 📈🤌🏼 Progress lol 😂 And it’s on fruit so that counts for something? right? I don’t know lol I’m new to this eating healthy thing
@@ToryDeluryCool Whip is basically hydrogenated vegetable oil, and fructose. Both are widely recognized as outright unhealthy and damage your body. Given the choice between that and just gaining a few calories from real whipped cream...Enjoy the whipped cream. A short hike will wipe out the calories.
@@ToryDeluryA goddess walks among us
I ❤️ that you bought chocolate milk and whipped cream…just the necessities! There is something magical about having a hot spring, lake or a pond all to yourself at sunrise or sunset. I’m glad you were able to enjoy it like that 🤗
"What do people do off-grid?"
Ha Ha! Most of the time, we have no idea what we're doing!
I like to drive into the wilderness and setup a tent. I'll usually get up in the pre-dawn hours, shivering to boil water for coffee, and wait for the sunrise. And when the sun breaks over the horizon, it's an absolutely magical time, every time.
After breakfast, I'll put a shovel, lunch, snacks, and water into a backpack and hike a few miles into the back country. You'll most likely find me sitting beside a small stream, listening to the water bubbling along, the wind rustling the leaves, and the birds chirping excitedly all around. And if I'm lucky, I'll spot a few deer or even a bear crossing the meadow in front of me.
So, I guess, for me, off-grid is about being, not doing.
You are very brave stay safe god bless you I was just realeased for the psychiatric hospital for my schizophrenia I was in for 16 days it seemed like for ever but I need it it I love your videos your are worthy my mental health is getting better thank you I appreciate all of the hard work you have done making videos thank I am starting a new life thank you God I am glad to be a live and forwatching your videos thank you you are very beautiful.
I am a former psychiatric patient but have since gone to college, served in the armed forces, been successfully married twice (my first wife passed away from heart disease), and had a career in education. I wish the best for you.
@@francisebbecke2727 thank you for your kindness peace for humanity I have been through a lot thank you I wish you prosperity and tranquility and happiness and joy.👍☮️
Loving your work.
I believe it's pronounced Boouge RV for the fridge not bogey.
Love the video. I’m from the city also and sometimes the quiet does bother me.
Another great video, thank you for sharing. I love to watch you surviving the great outdoor wilderness. Treading through the mud to have the hot spring all to yourself was an excellent decision.
Tory, if you put your fridge on top of a foam square(can find them at Harbor freight, as interlocking squares for floor mat), it will insulate against the heated metal of your floor. As a matter of comfort, you might want to line your whole floor with them. They're easy to clean. Just sweep them off. They will also deaden the road noise nicely.
It's nice to see you getting away from the city and exploring. That's what vanlife is for!!❤
Wow your the beauty in that world beautiful place and so are you take care xxxsteve ❤️
May I suggest replacing the need to "scroll" with video games? A Nintendo Switch runs at about 18 watts, which is honestly insanely efficient. You get the satisfaction of having a screen in your face, but without the drip feed of social media dopamine.
As a solo female who has spent about 3 to 4 months of the year dispersed camping on public lands for many years, what you just did was not off grid, nor was it safe. It looks like you camped right off of a busy highway next to Tecopa Hot Springs. I'm not sure that's legal, and it's definitely way too exposed to be safe. Cars coming by will wake you up constantly, and any dangerous people who drive by will see you. I always drive at least a few miles down dirt roads into BLM land or National Forests and look for camping pullouts that are hidden or sheltered behind rocks and/or trees. That's how you find the isolated spots where you can be alone in nature, build a camp fire, and see absolutely no people. I also like to bicycle, hike, paddle board, kayak, take photos, and look for isolated hot springs on trips like that. You might watch @NikkiDelventhal UA-cam channel for ideas.
She just makes content. She's not actually trying to live vanlife
You look a lot happier in this video. Seems the adventure was good for you. I have been in an unfinished bus for a while myself. In the beginning when I didn't have much built out, it was a bit depressing. It would seem so overwhelming thinking about all the projects that still need to be done. I was city camping and working a full time job. So I didn't get a lot of work done. Getting a fridge was such a game changer, I think I was living in my bus for three months before I got a fridge. I remember that feeling well, thinking how eating better was going to be healthier physically & mentally. Bonus, it was! Keep at it. Every little piece you add and every project you complete will give you that little dopamine boost you need for motivation to keep at it. ✌️🤟
Being off grid is a must to detox. I just spent a weekend off grid in the wilds of Scotland in my stealth camping van. You need a good folding table, to set up your gas cooker outside the van. Cooking off grid, safe in nature, is a must (do not want to cause a fire). Keep making the great video's. Be safe.
Tory, you are too funny. I love watching your videos, keep posting!
I highly recommend a Zero Gravity lawn chair for enjoying the peaceful views and quiet times. You will be super happy with this item.
For a shower you could go with a rechargeable system. Stow it away in a bucket. Use your stove to heat the water.
Subscribe to our Second Amendment and/or get a big scary dog.
Couldn't agree more with the whole "protection" bit. Enough uncertainty to make you want to cover some logical bases when the world can be strange and cruel sometimes.
Bty, you are just as beautiful inside and out as the beautiful nature and peaceful music!!!
I didn't fully appreciate landscapes until I learned a bit about geology, geography, and some cultural history of the places I was visiting. Also, try reading poetry by nature poets like Gary Snyder and many others. In my experience, silence is where you find spirituality. Great videography, too, Tory
I look for the solitude when I go off grid. I may hike or go fishing...see the sights. My off grid shower is a Joolca. If you decide to go this route, get the giant whole outfit, kit whole shebang, WITH the shower tent...you can thank me later. If you fold up an extra blanket and set you fridge on that, it will be more than enough insulation from the floor. ENJOY
Three inches of plain styrofoam under your fridge is all you need. Free scrap from appliance and electronics (ask the manager, they'll gladly give it to you) or bought in a craft store, or in a 4x8 sheet in any big box hardware store as insulation.
Cut to fit then use Elmer's Glue to stick them together.
If your WalMart has pool and beach supplies, two hard foam kickboards might do the job also.
When I click the link in the description for your Etsy store I receive error, " Uh oh!
Sorry, the page you were looking for was not found." Just wanted to let you know.
Hmm, thanks for letting me know so I can look into it!
Leaving Las Vegas, huh? Sounds like Sheryl Crow
Thank you for taking us on this journey to the hot springs. Those sunrise moments were really special. It was great to see you happy again after that last video. That E-bike is another has become quite handy. Have a fabulous day Tory 😃 That knocking sound really had me worried a second.
Looks peaceful there. Enjoy the alone time. I lol with you thanks for brightening my evening. Safe travels
I got Libby on my phone and now listen to books borrowed from the library when outside cell signal. It’s free!
The plan with your refrigerator keeping cool at night is a simple solution. All you have to do is take four 2x4’s and they went together for a little box and then set your refrigerator on top of them and that should hold your refrigerator off the floor high enough to wear the heat from your floor wouldn’t affect it
Exactly what I was going to suggest for her as well. 😊
"Quality Food"
Proceeds to lick whip cream 😂😂
The knock*
Me: Poor thing 🥺
Yes, waking up for the adventures of the things that you WANT to do early in the morning is so true!
Congrats for going to nature and boondocking. For me this is the reason I bought van and started to converting it
The 360 camera for more hands-free shots, is a great addition! Thanks
Yay, Tory! Glad your feeling refreshed and reenergized!
This trend of pretty girls doing van life...😅
Hey Tory Delory
I've been feeling so inspired by your channel that I just recently came across in my surch to gain knowledge so to increase my possibility of success. Your story is a powerful reminder that we can overcome challenges and create the life we want. I'm especially drawn to your journey where I also find my self in Las Vegas - where it's so bold and adventurous.
Where the extreme heat don't make it easy, right? I've been trying to work through some things from my past, and it's really helped me to see that I'm not alone. I'm also determined to pursue my own dreams, just las you have. In fact, I have already lived the underground life," "it was a fun experience this time I wish to travel the country," "start my own business"for a longa time. It's something my grandmother also dreamed of, and I want to make it happen for both of us.
I find your advice and experiences so valuable, and I'm so grateful for your honesty about the ups and downs of this lifestyle. You're a real inspiration!
Keep sharing your journey, Tory Delory you're making a huge difference. I'm rooting for you and for myself!
Best, Raymond Estrada
WOW that is a GREAT deal on that fridge and with the discount code even better! I bought one. Thank you, Tory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As enchantingly beautiful as a video gets
Such a gorgeous spot
Yay to more comforts like the fridge and more water 💦
Loved the filming / editing/ subject
Glad to hear you're getting your diet sorted -- might also think about taking a good quality multi-vitamin. Better yet, get AG-1 to sponsor you!
Cheers!...from North Vancouver
Feed your body, feed your mind, and feed your spirit. Also, get a least 30 mins in the sun every day to boost your mood.
Your biome in your gut is like a second brain. You need fiber, pre-biotics and probiotics to keep things balanced.Body, Mind and Soul.
What is that garter on your left thigh? A place to keep your dagger? You'd make a great pirate. Look into going to Tampa's Gasparilla Festival next year.
Brilliant as always 💚 Beautiful view 3 day purge is a great start! Was it dark enough to see the stars? How hot was the spring? Looked so peaceful Silents is healthy lol welcome to my world 🌎🤟
Tory my dear, as a guy who basically lived off grid for 12 years my main suggestion is to get a mobile StarLink system. Elon has enough satellites up now that you can go almost anywhere and have good service. No more searching for internet, imagine that! 😁👍 As always, BIG HUGS from Tennessee!
I like how you're talking about healthy eating while squirting whipped cream on your fruit haha. All good tho, we all deserve treat somtimes. Also, awesome to see you out in nature. I LOVE your tourist-y videos, but this kinda stuff is my fav part of van/road life content!
I was hoping for a video on the progress of your van build. I hope you can carry on soon as you'll feel more comfortable and settled. After your last video, I thought you got your motivation back, you deserve to live better.
Love it. Beautiful job. That was, that was ... dang, it was, yea, poignant. TY. Appreciate your hard work.
Tory! i'm the same way with the quietness, something about the eeriness, who knows follow your inner intuition if it's time to move on from the spot onto another beautiful spot so be it. Thanks for
sharing pretty sure you'll like your next adventures into the different boon-docking scenarios you'll be fitting right in when you realize it's just an adjustment from the norm.
I just love watching your videos. You are so great at telling a story, and your videography and editing is so fun. I’m working towards possibly starting van life myself, as my daughter lives far away and is getting ready to have my 1st grandchild. Your videos give me inspiration and determination that I can do this lifestyle, without the videos though lol, I’m a terrible photographer/videographer.
Hi Tory, You should come here to MO. for a visit. I can help you in your van buildout, do some jetski camping, and shoot content. I gottcha covered girl. Give me a shout. 🤗❤
Things to do off grid... Get lost in a really good fantasy novel. JR Tolkien is a great option. I am a student of geo politics and current events globally are truthfully frightening. This video was as much of a retreat for me as it was for you. Many thanks! ❤🎉
No helmet, wearing headphones while you ride your bike. Seriously. And you say you’re concerned about your safety?
I bought a female friend of mine some good quality (saber) pepper spray. Works on both animals and humans, it can offer a little peace of mind. Add some blueberries to that cereal...super healthy.
You should consider making a trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway area of North Carolina. It is absolutely gorgeous! And if you research it some . You will find many interesting things to do and see . If you are not familiar with this area ? You will see just why I mentioned it to you . Stay with it and enjoy .
just put a slab of Styrofoam under the fridge //PROBLEM SOLVED
I wanted to move on April 1 but it didn’t happen. I’m been on the road now four days staying in city country a little bit of both stayed and a Cracker Barrel that was next to the road. Won’t do that one again. I’m on my way to signature solar in Texas to pick up my air conditioner, if I got that I can stay anywhere. I have two solar panels that I have to put on before I get there with a bunch of aluminum. I’ll get it all done. It just amazes me how much fun this really is used to go to Panera every day now I’m actually out there living the dream, I’ve been spending a couple of hours every day on my build out of the trailer I’m in no hurry mostly because I’m only good for about two hours with the energy. I had a stroke a few years ago ever since then I just don’t have much left, but I give it my best. Every day I find a sleep more, two hours out is better than two hours where I was. I hope you have the best day ever.
Whipped cream is real food? :D Put the fridge on a think piece of scrap foam insulation if you can get one. For downtime things to do: read, draw, photography, sit, breathe.
Hot springs are breeding grounds for bacteria, last thing I want is a yeast infection, and a transman cant completely leave biology behind, Ill take a hot bath instead. Out doors activity perfect for self improvement, so its doing a lot of reading, and developing your bush skills. And the biggest part is learning to become stable with only your own company. most people lose their minds IF they are not developing their minds.
I initially wondered what you were thinking wading through all that mud, haha. But it paid off with some truly beautiful shots there at the springs. That was some great thinking outside of the box.
Another potential hack that could simplify things is to get one of those 7 gallon blue jugs that has the twist spigot for spare water, and you won't always be so worried you're about to run out of wash water.
Thanks for the video and keep up the great content Tory!
Great video! Enjoy watching you here in AZ. I’m curious what you do for work? Thanks.
I'm a type "A" personality and also have a hard time just sitting still. Lately in my van/life and sailboat cruising I'm embracing doing absolutely nothing! Hard to do at first but once you get the hang of it I thing your in for a treat.
And if that doesn’t work, try filling the cavity in the space underneath the refrigerator with fiberglass insulation and that should help insulate the heat from the refrigerator so it stays cool
Put your frig on 2x2 like in a u shape with insulation between the deck and frige. As you build you can then use it as a base for the frig in the final build it to reduce the heat coming off your deck.
Heck Yeah Girl, you really make the best of things. You really do seem to have a sort of super power about that. I think the sooner you get your van home sorted, the sooner you will be able to get back to being the girl we knew before. You are fine, you are just putting a lot on yourself by not having ... you need an air bed!
I love the magical cat wizard towel hanging on the back doors! Cool. Aloha from Hawaii.
Anyone know the name of this place and where it is? I saw the sign but couldn't quite make out the name and I don't think she mentioned it other than to say its in California. Looks like a place I'd like to visit this summer.
Have you ever thought about getting a dog? Even though mine is small and not particularly scary I still feel safer with him as he would 100% bark and probably bite at any intruder. Plus obviously dogs are fun and help with loneliness.
Thanks for another video, I love follow your life adventures. Ron/Sweden
I've been out there many times and you did a really good job with this video!! Bravo!
If you have a yoga mat, that would be good under the fridge for insulation from the heated floor. You can also save some fridge space by going with shelf stable UHT milk which lasts longer and doesn't require refrigeration until after you open it.
You should probably get a radio in case you get stuck you can call for help off-grid solo is no bueno if you get stuck it's like 28 bucks
I just bought a pull camper, but my dream has always been to get another van for traveling and camping.
Thanks for sharing the journey Tory! Vanlife is great cause it lets you live in the city for no rent but then you can also take your house out into nature to recharge like this, time to take some notes from Trent about offgrid van living lol
If you have those doubts sometimes, just know from the outside looking in, you can make it, easily.
Oh, another fun discussion. Does "bouge" rhyme with "rouge" (not rogue)?
Beautifully photograped, really nice job on the video!
For the fridge just get some Styrofoam and put it under it. It's insulation that would raise it off the floor and keep the heat off the fridge
You are strong willed. I think it’s great how you travel and brave good job.
What is the name of this place? My gf and I would love to check it out she wants to experience hot springs.
Magical hot springs footage of a magically beautiful lady :)
been off grid for 2 years. i play video games but i have 2200 watts of solar and big battery setup
Hey beautiful, are you under the impression that living in such a way is impressive?
I'm surprised you haven't insulated the walls yet, or at least the ceiling.
