Actually Sailor also makes the Pro Gear Slim Mini, which is shorter and fatter than the Pro Gear Slim. To me Sailor's nibs seem very precise, as well as pleasant in use, and have turned me into a Sailor Boi.
I've not come across the Pro Gear Mini and I wonder if they are available in my region. The Sailor nib is very precise indeed, and I love the scroll work and quality. I know so many Sailor fans!
A Pro Gear (classic) is one of my grail pens right now but I’m prioritizing the Custom 823 bc I already have a Pro Gear Mini. I bought it second hand for a great price and fell in love with the nib. I went to Wonder Pens and held the other models and I found the regular Pro Gear fit my hand better than the Slim. Someday…..
I like my Pro Gear and I like small pens. I really love Pilot more though. A custom 823 amber is probably my next grail pen purchase. Not sure what nib yet but I'm leaning towards a broad also. I'm also tempted something by with a music nib.
I also enjoy the feedback of sailor pens a lot. I have a Slim Vega with a gorgeous blue resin with speckles and a lovely PG mini with a muted light pink resin. I do like the grip of the mini more, it’s a bit fatter.
I have six gold nibbed Sailors, and (ah! The sacrilege!) am in the process of getting them all smoothed by a nib meister, as I don’t like the nibs how they come out of the factory. Three of them are Pro Gear Slim Minis, which are my favourite of the six, and two are 1911Ls. My hands like the 1911L, but my heart likes the PGSMinis. Smoothed. So they write like butter.
I've not had any nibs worked on by a nib meister, and I'm afraid I'd go overboard and start getting all sorts of interesting grinds. Sailor has come up with some stunning colours for their pens.
Since you enjoy drawing, may I suggest. The Sailor Fude de Mannen? It can give you a number of different nib sizes in one nib and really make a drawing quite lively. I prefer the 40 degree angle myself but there is also a 55 degree angle as well. It’s quite affordable, uses cartridges but does accept the Sailor converter. And it’s a Sailor so eminently reliable.
That is a good suggestion. I tried one that a friend owned, and it was a great sketching pen. They are on order at my local bookstore/pen shop, and I'll pick one up when they arrive!
i watched the whole video and when you said i just like pens and the hobby i subbed that was so kind of you to share your experience , now i do have a question , i do not use my pens posted i mean at all , would this one be that uncomfortable to use unposted ?
It's a lovely pen and a great writer. There are some amazing colours that seem to be released only in Japan or certain markets. I had other options but was really attracted to the white.
I have the 1911s, the torpedo shape equivalent of yours, in fine nib too. It writes like a dream, but I had to find the way how to write with it: not with pressure on the paper like all other fountain pens, you have to let it write on its own weight. Yes they are very expensive, I don't think I'll buy a full size one. For the same price I can get something with more to offer. Thanks for the review.
It's a pen that I had to find the right ink for, and Diamine Oxford Blue really made me like it more. It has a hard fine nib and is like a needle. If I ever get another Sailor I might try a medium nib.

I've grown to like feedback a lot, and there are some very attractive Sailor resins being made!

I don't have large hands but I find it a bit too small unposted. Thanks for the sub.
This is next on my list but I’m waiting for a color that is maybe a bit more vibrant

@@PEIPenGuy it’s a pretty color white. Compliments the yellow gold nicely. I really love the bi color nib on the Lucky Charm color (not mini)

Sailor fountain pens are good but for the price I prefer TWSBI more or Pilot fountain pens.
I'm a big fan of both TWSBI and Pilot!
