Worst mishaps were twice with yhe same ink: Noodler’s Heart of Darkness and let me tell you this one stains! First was when I opened the gigantic bottle, it was filled to the brink and I topple it.. while I was at work! I was quick enough to pick it so I didn’t lose that much ink but my desk and most of what was on it got stained. Second time, I was preparing an ink sample and as the eye dropper exited the mouth of the bottle I started shaking wildly and splattered most of my desk at home and what was surrounding it…

Diamine Pick Me Up was an invent ink, later released in a big bottle Iroshizuku ink bottle caps are fragile. I've had several crack in transit.

Sorry to hear about your ink. One time I was filling a pen from a brand new sample vial, and tipped it too far at an angle (I wasn’t paying attention) and dumped most of the sample onto a paper towel. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Oy. But that’s not too bad, just annoying. I can laugh about how dumb that was now.

I was all set to share my worst tale of woe, which happened in rhe last week, when you said "no damage to pens." Honestly, nothing compares to that. But I did once spill a bottle of ink that also stained the open side of a nice Hobonichi notebook, ruining the entire notebook. Pilot Iroshizuzu ink bottle caps are notorious for being flimsy, so I'm not surprised it cracked.

I wouldn’t have thought that the Iroshizuku ink cap was weak enough to break that way. Sorry you lost some of your favorite ink! I hope it didn’t stain your floor. My ink disaster: Once when my mother was visiting I unknowingly dripped a little ink on a chair and she sat on it and stained her pants. I have Kyo No Oto Kokeiro, a wonderful green ink. You slipped an extra “o” into that brand’s name.

How does the sm do with smoothness? I have a medium and like it but don't like that I have to press down to get it to write. Would you recommend one in broad or sm?

I've seen a few pen social media accounts share Lochby posts lately and I was officially influenced enough by this video to buy a Quattro pouch today. I've been waiting to find a great case with a couple slots so I don't have to bring my Esterbrook 20 pen binder with me everywhere, and I think the Lochby Quattro will be perfect for that.

The Lochby Venture is amazing, but a couple of times I've unzipped the wrong side and any unfastened items have fallen out. Maybe the zippers should be color-coded? May I should just be more careful? Don't know. But otherwise, I love it. The Quattro too.

I have so many pen cases too ...but for everyday I love the informality of the Quatro. Just toss it in my backpack & go!

I agree, the Venture is cool as is. It would be cooler yet with a worthy strap. That's cool the Quattro will fit in the split side of the Venture. I found Lochby's Pocket Journal will fit, too. I may start carrying a Quattro - a world class adventurer's pen case - and my Pocket Journal that way. It appears Lochby is bringing back some of the Bond Travel gear, like their 13 inch messenger bag. Count me as quite interested.

Ive been eyeing and planning to buy this photoprinter for almost a year, but in amazon us and amazon uk.. said it's in 110-120v...however when i read q &a section most customers who are in uk,who bought this printer in amazon uk, said they've directly plugged it in their homes.. (note: uk has 230v power)....Dell USA, said it supports 120-230v 50-60hz, and the Epson info of their product particularly this printer saying 110v on paper is an error. quite confuse if we can really use this in 220v 50-60hz, our country had 220v..if can someone enlighten me.. thanks in advance...

I suspect I have an eBay Frankenstein pen too but although the cap (pilot) fits snugly it does not post as snugly as it should! It has a beautiful manifold nib and it writes well so I am trying not to be too disappointed. I am new to this and may have paid over the odds … your pen looks beautiful. Enjoy!

I recommend Monteverde Smoke Noir. It’s a darker gray but still a gray that is less harsh than black. It has some interesting partial water resistance. Very well-behaved. For a waterproof transparent dark gray, I recommend Noodler’s Lexington Gray. Unlike some of the “bulletproof” inks, it is well-behaved in pens and on paper. It’s good for both drawing and writing and retains its water resistance when diluted. (Note for people trying a Noodler’s ink for the first time: he fills the bottles to the very top. Be careful when opening them or you will have a mess,)

I've got two of their pen cases and a couple of journals. All well made. Best, they look like what an adventurer would have in his knapsack but don't look out of place in a boardroom. The blue or black colors are probably best for an office look. Handsome stuff.

I really like this pen case, but BEWARE. It discolors your light colored pens. The internal yellow fabric totally stained my beautiful white pen and it won’t come off 😭 It ruined my special edition rose gold TWSBI with the white body, and Lochby didn’t do anything but shrug their shoulders about it. I have photos up about it on my Instagram for anyone that wants to see the damage first hand. They did me dirty on an expensive (for me) pen. The case is awesome but, for me, a company is only worth their cents in customer service.

I don’t know what you are talking about these left handers. It’s extremely fast drying ink. Regarding putting it in expensive pens, were these pens hindered or what? Nothing unusual.

Fun video. Thanks. I really like this ink. In truth, it can be dangerous for unprepared adults as well. After a few lessons, I learned the tricks whenever the pen will be involved in inking, cleaning or nib changing. I wear gloves whenever I will be involved in those operations and put paper towels under my work area. I also have a few paper towels close by - just in case. ;) Another think I learned, and as you pointed out, if you're going to use Baystate Blue on a regular basis, dedicate a pen and converter to it so you won't care about the staining. For pen cleaning, I use small cups filled with water which are dumped into a larger cup during the cleaning process. That gets taken outside to empty. (I have a septic tank, so I don't pour the ink down the drain.) Do not use the sinks in your house. Stains are not easily removed from them. (Yea, that's one of those "lessons" I mentioned in paragraph one. 😁

Great unboxing! I personally use the Lochby pocket journal in brown. The earth tone looks amazing and the yellow honeycomb interior is stunning. I typically load it up with two note pads,a Parker jotter and a mechanical pencil, and a couple of seldomly used work keys. It fits nicely in a pocket or a bag. You should definitely try it. I know that I’d like to try more Lochby products. If you don’t mind my asking, where on the island are you from? I look forward to the full review and checking out more of your content. When I tried this ink I was surprised as well that the color leaned more towards pink/ light dried blood. I haven't tried it yet with a nib that can lay a thicker layer of ink - maybe that will show the red more.

Is the pen worth the price? Or should I stick to my twsbi eco’s? I was thinking about getting 823 in a medium nib.
