Neil doesn't make music, he makes a feeling. That is one of the best guitar solos ever. I have to stop everything just to listen to it, can feel it in my gut.
Neil is a super guitar player . He is the best of the best . Have seen him in concert many times . You can see in his face how much he feels his .music . No one can sing , write songs or play guitar like Neil . He is very talented and has shared his gift to all of you . He has a beautiful Soul . We love you Neil .❤❤❤❤
@Karmakatt6 yup got hooked on Everybody Knows This is Nowhere but Ragged Glory is fantastic which Noone listens to....especially the top 40 garbage wimp requesters that NEVER listen to his ROCK
I breathe music! Neil Young is one of my favorite musicians! Who says he plays guitar poorly, doesn't have a musician ear! He plays guitar and he plays a lot! Many graces for you Mr Neil Young! Much respect! From Portugal!
I want to wish my youngest brother a very happy birthday today publicly in honor of him coming to my apartment one chilly October night in 1978 and literally dragging me out to see the rust never sleeps show. Thank you little brother. And thank you to the poster.
Same for me, I still think it would be the record i would pick if someone from outer space told me: what is this thing you people from earth call rock?
The Ragged Glory tour! With Social Distortion and Sonic Youth opening. I was front row center stage in Boston and my ears rang for two days after. Glorious rock and roll.
Third row center stage, Denver. 03/19/1991. Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth who opened for Neil & RG did an extended solo, came off the stage and jumped into the guy’s chair right in front of me on the floor(no gen admin), propped up one leg on the back of the chair and wailed like I’d never seen anyone wail before, and just inches from my face! Never forget him, them, or how awesome Neil Young and his bros were playing only the electric guitars & such. We were always used to hearing his acoustic music in Colorado and this was a rare treat! ROCK & ROLL!!!!
Honest to pete, you could file this portion under "jazz" and you wouldn't be wrong. All in all, a lovely rendition of one of my favorite Neil + Crazy Horse tunes...
This is peak Crazy Horse. He's fully digested punk, he's channeling Coltrane and Hendrix, he's finally in shape enough to rock this hard, and he's not quite old yet.
So very reminiscent of Live Rust 78/79. Robert Hilburn of the LA Times stated: "there will be lines at the ear doctor for weeks to come," after the Live Rust tour at The LA Forum.
Esta version tiene a mi humilde enteneder el mejor solo de rock and roll en vivo jamás tocado. best solo ever played. Keep on rocking padrino. Desde el sur de américa,, mis respetos a uno de los tipos más brillantes tras un guitarra...
Nice post, thanks! Believe it or not, at least in my mind, Crazy Horse is an underrated band. A lot of people were stuck on early Neil and I can see why, but this is a resurgence for him and he did it with Crazy Horse don't forget. FL US June 21
2,000 of the 2,990 views of this video as of the time of me writing this, must be mine! :) I remember when this live album came out, I bought it... And I have never grown tired of it! Thanks for uploading this, with this quality!!
So much said about how adept Young is and how tight the band was on this tour. Agreed. On another note: The message of this song is prophetic don't you think?
Escucho sonar punteos y ninguno de los dos los está tocando, entonces de donde salen? I hear tapping sounds and neither of them are playing them, so where do they come from?

I agree Sharon, so many wonderful beautiful songs 🙏😌
Weld is one of the fattest, loudest live albums ever. It's amazing!!!
I LOVE IT!!!!!
As far as studio albums, Ragged Glory got me hooked onto Electric Neil, Weld and Rust Never Sleeps.. changed my passion for music.
@@Karmakatt6 Rust Never Sleeps is probably my favourite live DVD ever. Alongside The Song Remains The Same.
Not as good as Ragged Glory where this came out on
@Karmakatt6 yup got hooked on Everybody Knows This is Nowhere but Ragged Glory is fantastic which Noone listens to....especially the top 40 garbage wimp requesters that NEVER listen to his ROCK
If manhood ceases to exist, may we be remembered by this.
Tomorrow is a long long time, when you’re a memory….trying to find peace of mind ☮️

Always love the way Neil just feels the music the way he plays and moves
Neil's body movements are out of time with the music, which makes him even more amazing.
I want to wish my youngest brother a very happy birthday today publicly in honor of him coming to my apartment one chilly October night in 1978 and literally dragging me out to see the rust never sleeps show.
Thank you little brother.
And thank you to the poster.
The Weld album is one of my favorite live albums ever. Cound´t stop listening it in the nineties. I was a kid. Still am when I hear it
Same for me, I still think it would be the record i would pick if someone from outer space told me: what is this thing you people from earth call rock?

This has got to be one of the greatest duo’s to have ever been ! Neil young and Crazy H Damn !!!!
Damn the band is tight during this show...surprising nobody.
The Ragged Glory tour! With Social Distortion and Sonic Youth opening. I was front row center stage in Boston and my ears rang for two days after. Glorious rock and roll.
What a lineup
I too caught Ragged Glory tour, and have seen him 10+ times. LOUD, is the only way!
4:55 How can you not love this man?
Valeu
He shills for Big Pharm and his voice sounds like cats fornicating.

5:56 through 7:45 favorite thing that Neil (or anybody) has ever recorded.

It’s all there isn’t it? All those years on the road. All that knowledge, slammed out and laid bare.
When the Octavider kicks in, it kicks off
@@timreedyno he s not channeling them at all
My mind just got blown! 😱
It really is an amazing live track.
The cinematography is brilliant.
The definitive live performance - Neil is going offff!!!! :-)

Thanks for the post. I was the first 10 years ago to make a post of the studio-version because I thought it belongs on UA-cam.
So very reminiscent of Live Rust 78/79. Robert Hilburn of the LA Times stated: "there will be lines at the ear doctor for weeks to come," after the Live Rust tour at The LA Forum.
WELD is a far superior LIVE album to the weak LIVE RUST album.
WELD is strong and solid.

Glad I saw CH live. Ya kinda had to be there to experience the onslaught of sound.
My favorite guitarist!…far ahead!!
6.20 like going crazy, squeezes the notes out of its guitar, fabulous, see his face wow

Yes Joseph The Horse are underrated and should be officially inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame. In my mind they already are.
@@sundial7586 Agreed Sir. Amen!
Damn Neil Young can rock. Jus sayin.
Watched Neil in SNL with my Grandmother before she died. Her comment was, “my he sure does hop around a lot.” Damn straight Grandma!
Saw this show at the Convention Center in Phila PA, I was only 31 then, what an awesome show and great album !
words cannot express how much i love this
Die " Weld " ...ist eine Welt ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️

He is a major talent and true legend, great musician,
songwriter, arranger and performer..one of the truly
best creative musical talents..thanks
The album this is from, Ragged Glory, is so good. A real flat-out guitar fest. And Weld, the live album is insanely maxed-out guitar extravaganza.
great performance

Good guitar exercise
Hail hail the king
Heard it FIRST at bottom of Grand Canyon: Ghost Ranch: breakfast cook was blasting it. I thought: WTF: how lucky am I!
Has anyone else sparked one up in the middle of this song when it really starts to rock. No? OK, then never mind.
Yep

With or without, it’s pretty HIGH!!
Yep. Right now as a matter of fact. Rock on!
Before, during and after
Tasty jam.
