If the clutch of the alternator pulley is blocked, does it affect the steering system, is there a noise when turning with the engine at low speed? !!

Noise and vibrations on auxiliary belt - yes. Can affect steering, if it's hydraulic power steering.

i have the same car but finding it hard to put the auxiliary belt back on need help as dont want to damage it

How to change tensioner pulley?
Can you tell me please what key is going second(under) pulley.
Unfortunately, I got rid of that Audi, so I won't be able to show you on life example. But I have some manuals - to remove tensioner, you have to unscrew bolt from behind. To remove just a wheel, you can unscrew the 16mm bolt (the one we turn clockwise to decrease tension)
Is the 2.7L same enough for this tutorial? It looks very similar.
+Mic Nor 2.7 is a V6 engine and it will be more hassle to replace the alternator on that one. You'll have to remove intake manifold + lots of other different stuff. Unfortunately I don't have experience with V6 yet, so can't help you much, sorry
what does led p21w have to put? so that there is no error?

I try not to replace conventional bulbs with LED, unless I know what I'm doing.. and I rarely know :)

+rille kangas if ti looks the same, then I would try to remove/install it the same way.. It's only alternator ;)
my multimeter reads 12.7 V on the battery when the engine is on. is this an alternator problem or the battery management module?
+Dragos Cristian My guess - likely alternator. If it would happen to me, and car has no problems, I would drive for some time to see what happens. Alternatively it can be scanned with VCDS to find a fault.

Wiggle it to find space opposite and take it out.
I change a alternator on a 06 Audi A6 and on the new one the pulley is bigger than the old one can somebody help me please I thought the pulleys should be same size when replacing a alternator
They should be same size. Did you speak to people who sold you that alternator?
Yes I did it was at oreilys and they said that was all they had so I ask them about swapping the pulleys out and it was just an argument but thanks for the reply and assuring me that I was right
Hi i have exactly the same car 2006 audi A6 avant 2.0tdi my bet came off and the pulley from the alternator has disappeared, my question is that do i have to buy a new alternator or can i put a pulley on and if i can will ot be safe?
Just new pulley might work, but it needs to be checked. Things like why did the old one come off, does it work as it should with the new one, what condition is alternator and bearings. I can't predict how new pulley will behave. Best thing - is to show it to some experienced mechanic.
WheelsAndMotors i was driving on a road where they removed the top surface thats how a rock got into the engine bay, sheared the belt the pulley from the alternator came off and the tension pulley damaged. It was all okay before everything like belt pulley tensioner and cambelt only a year old. The garage said 250 if they can put a pulley on if not 600
What currency is it 250 and 600? Pounds?

It's a sensor located by blower motor intake.
Also there's risk of breakage if the auxiliary belt runs in the opposite direction when refitted. Before removing, mark direction of auxiliary belt with chalk for re-installation.

marcus fenix Hi Marcus. To drain that fluid - take the lowest possible pipe off, drain it, refill, and keep topping up while turning steering from lock to lock.

Yep, I did cut off some unnecessary stuff, but on the other hand - I spent some time explaining and showing stuff.. So I would say - it can be done within half an hour.. Or hour max - if you know what you doing ;)
Just today my alternator died, battery icon appeared on dash checked battery level and it had one line and it didnt charged. Could it be also my battery?
Big chance that battery died, because alternator wasn't charging and car electrics were running of the battery. What I would do - check voltage with engine running, if it's 14 and more - alternator is working, it it's around 12 alternator is bad. Most common alternators fault - worn out brushes, way cheaper to replace them than whole alternator. If alternator is faulty, I would fix that first and then see what is battery like.
WheelsAndMotors i dunno im just inbetween, first will do what you said to me but lately the battery level dropped quickly when the engine wasnt running and i had something plugged in the sockets in the car like kids tablet or my powerbank. Then after an hour or so i got back in the car it warned me of the low battery level

I think your alternator isn't charging. Battery also maybe bad, but you can find out later. Alternator definitely has a problem and needs to be fixed/replaced. I have a video about brushes unit (voltage regulator) replacement. Check this link:

WheelsAndMotors it might be a tricky question but is it possible to change the brushes only without taking out the whole alternator off? I see thrre is enough room at the back of it

Может знаешь?! Я себе разобрал замок двери водительской... почистил моторчик поставил обратно... все работает. открывает и закрывает. Но возникла другая проблема когда все двери закрываются то этот открывается и наоборот. как не пробовал менять положение в ручную моторчика-замка.. механизма... возвращается в тоже самое. сразу причем. Как это можно исправить не знаешь? клему скидывал не на долго.. одевал... не помогло.
