- Flashmob Haka at Trafalgar Square in London - November 18th 2012 - 130pm. Organised by Sky Sports Rugby and Ngati Ranana for the coming rugby match England vs. New Zealand. GO THE ALLBLACKS!!!
I would have loved to witness this. The kiwis are such an impressive representation of macho man. A fine specimen of the male species. And we owe them so much for their contributions to two world wars. Cheers kiwis, proud to have you on board. Dave, from Nottingham, uk.

You've spelled Aotearoa correct, well done and much love from Western Spring's, Pt Chev- Auckland City 1046 New Zealand -
It's a traditional war dance from Maori culture. In this case it was being used to challenge the English in the coming rugby match vs. New Zealand.

I loved the little guy next to the front row..holding his own with the adult males. the "Haka" is very interesting to observe and I would love to see it in person. To feel the ground shake with their foot stomps, the air alive with their emotions.
I am a Native American and this still stirs my blood.
Celtic, Italian, and Romani hybrid here and I love the haka. I may not be Maori, but I respect and honor their culture. And understand the haka is sacred to them. It gets my blood pumping whenever I do it.
Good. Thats what It’s suppose to do. Get you pumped up so much you could go and kill an army of british invaders 😂
i'm a pom and i think the all blacks are the greatest players in the world. and i think rugby fans are good natured unlike soccer fans. my daughter is going to a rugby match just so she can see the all blacks do the haka

Muchas gracias amigo -
Looove it sooo much...rich in passion for culture ;)
The song "We are the world" is playing in the background HAHAHAHAHHAHA....was a contrast. One calls for peace, the other for war !!!!!
Its ok you dont understand. but maybe before you speak next time about a haka maybe you learn that there are different haka's an this haka does not call for war.
The Haka was practiced before a war between tribes ... So it does call for war. In this case though it calls for some friendly competition.
OP is kind of right, the words are ka mate, which roughly means die. So yeah, it alludes to war. But in the context it's used it's a war of teams/nations in a game.
Do you know the next words? It’s ‘Ka Ora’ which means to live. Ka Mate was a haka written by a great Maori Chief, Te Rauparaha, when he was being chased down by the British invaders. This haka is about him not giving into death, but by living to see another sun.
Posting from perth. Born and raised in Kapiti Coast just north of Wellington, Ngati Toa is very big where Im from. This haka gave me the chills, mean as my brothers and sisters of Aotearoa. Fuck that haters. Not that it matters, but Im non maori and EVERY time I see a haka performed I will jump in there and give it my all. Big ups to the ppl on this vid... Nz hard!
Love it!
what's right is right indeed
Kamate Haka

luv it
proud to be my nationality :')
New Zealand have the Maori Haka.... England have Morris Men with ribbons and bells on the hats !!!
Without Great Britain you lot would still all be building huts made out of shit to live in

So this makes front pages in New Zealand, but a small section online in the UK?
Pommies...
+Grayson Leversha Yeah, how weird they aren't obsessed with a tiny island nation on the other side of the planet that does not effect them at all!
Mate, dont take it so harsh, was just my opinion.
Grayson Leversha that Tiny island nation? could be New Zealand or the UK lol
Hell yes I seen someone in the Haka crowd wearing an Oakland Raiders #20 Darren McFadden jersey!!! (American football team jersey)

proud to be kiwi
wow tonight is the Kiwis vs the Poms GO THE NZERS
Roll on November!!! Aroo!!!
I don't understand why people think Haka is exclusively performed by men. There are haka's which are entirely performed by woman. In most cases woman are there for support, but sometimes they fully participate as much as the men. The woman in this haka participated in support, their dance was not entirely the same.
Awesome
かっこよすぎ🤩
まさか日本人がいるとは笑
all day brothers...all day....
Yea. He was wicked!
That was wicked
good
Go Kiwi. Wish I had known about this!
No one will believe me but that's my uncle
God Bless NewZealand we in the end days.
O love Haka
Would have been funny if a bunch of Morris dancers came out and excepted the challenge
...это всё трава)) её много очень много))
Fucken love that love from Scotland lads
On average there is a haka performed every 37 seconds in New Zealand. A haka used to be something special but nowdays they find any old reason to do one. Cuzzy Steven has arrived at the airport....let´s do a haka. They opened up a new library at school.....let´s do a haka. Auntie Moana just made her best banana cake ever.....let´s do a haka.
WHY IS THERE MUSIC IN THE BACKGROUND???
its also performed by moari men and women of the moari culture and just so you know queen elizabeth may own new zealand but she took it by force took it away from them thats why the moari teach their children and families the warrior chant
kefe haka
Queen Elizabeth didn't take it, Victoria did :)
Im confused what are they doing
That lions or tigers at the back of them it's look familiar to me I think it's in the movie 🎥 called the museum or somthing
Like that nvm like if you agreed do you?
Seems like the sort of scene you'd see in a Batman Film. Only the villian breaks out of the dancers and kills everybody. no?
loved it
Viewed a few comments in here saying that women shouldn't be doing things like this, blah blah blah about femininity and what not. Kiwi women are just as strong and fierce as men in Maori culture.
Google the RWC 2011 opening Haka. Performed by Te Matarae I Orehu showcasing women's ability to hold their own. In Maori history the women are just as fierce as men, why shouldn't they be able to stand by their men?
How so?
epic
maneroo manoo
Call the queen thoose crazy New Zelanders are doing it again
the struggle of being a light skinned halfcast and always loving your culture but being looked at like and outsider halfcast soon turns to outcast
The little boy on the right
This is crazy
haka is performed by the men and women of the moari culture and nation its in their blood by generation to generation
Wow
VERY MASCULIN / BRILLIANT !!!!
It's a common misconception that Haka is exclusively performed by men. There are haka's which are entirely performed by woman. In this case, when the woman were participating, they did not perform the same actions as the men.
I prefer the HARLEM SHAKE!
What the Haka!
akward moment when you go in the crowd to fit in and you only the macaroni dance.
daaaaaaaaam this shit is some next level shit all these funny white folks like to join in this haka at least they tryed
that isnt the point they come from nz and they are halfway across the world from their home country they were really brave
Does it matter if he is maori or not the all blacks are doing it and some of them are maori so It doesnt Matter what if your European or Maori You can still call New Zealand Home
i believe the score was 38-21..........this is awkward now
All Blacks!!!!!!
Ccchhhaaahhooo!!!
Women are not supposed to do the guys bit of haka for they have there own bit of the haka but Ka Pai
Khya Marr depends what part of New Zealand your from. Each tribe is different
Rewi Boynton oh yeah ay
I don't think any of these women are from New Zealand tbh
This was done in association with Ngati Ranana, and also announced on the Kiwi's in London forum, so you can rest assured, there were plenty of Kiwis. I was one of them.
Rebecca Clarke how's the Waitangi over there?
Ka mate in English means something like this " will I die will I die will I live will I live" from one of our maori defenders or whatever
"It is death, it is death, it is life, it is life!"
Made by Te Rauparaha 🤙
... from which hole did they crawl out - ;-) . 'SHIVERING' ...
You're mothers teke
