    Ugh just did my first repair with missing pads like this it suuuucked. But learned a lot from this video. And tried different techniques. I ended up only putting pads down for the grounds and the five left traces. And then used tiny wires from the HDMI port to torn traces close to the diodes. Worked great!

  • @kbernier
    @kbernier Рік тому +9

    At 5:11 in your video the 3rd pad from the left looks to connect from both sides. You connected it to the top side only. It looks to be a ground pad and it probably didn't matter on that board as ground probably makes its way around to the other side by a different path. On other boards, that may be the only connection and could cause issues. I really enjoy watching you do these repairs, it goes beyond what I can do.

    I came here a month ago trying fix a gtx 960 that had an error code 43, I ended up never fixing it. But ever since I've been hooked on watching your videos, because of how entertaining and informative they are. You even go beyond and talk about other things like business creation and why not to spend so much on a store front, and how some customers might think your an expensive shop otherwise + more. Thanks for all the advice, entertainment, and care that you putt into your videos. You've even gotten me to buy a solder kit / meter and attempting to fix cheap broken boards, etc from ebay for fun haha. Micro soldering is extremely difficult and I even find myself taking an hour just to repair a single pad haha. I look forward to watching your channel every step of the way.

    • @codm-420-killer7
      @codm-420-killer7 Рік тому

      error 43 can be a software problem uninstall all drivers with a program other than windows itself then install older drivers and work up from there. this it what I do for cards with artifacting or no output on ports. it could also be corrupted gpu bios reflash using a spi flash programmer.

    • @anogi2507
      @anogi2507 Рік тому

      @@codm-420-killer7 I've tried mostly everything with that gpu, vbios update, trying different vbios's, reinstalling drivers, putting it into another system, even attempting to reflow it in a oven haha. I got it unexpectedly in an eBay auction pc parts lot and it worked, sold it to someone and then just decided to go caput refunded n all

    So watching you do this gives me inspiration to do the fixes I need to do. I do watch repair as a hobby. I have a bunch of coils that the wire has failed at the solder joint. The coil wire is .0006” or .016mm in diameter. I need to scrap the wire coating and solder on a jumper to the solder pad. These watches are from the 60s so parts are very hard to find and the watches quite valuable. Thanks for the inspeeation. I’m running a hacko fx100 induction iron with .01” tips and a AM microscope. I think I need to order some flux from you and some lower temp solder that flows nice so I don’t burn the nylon coil form.

    Your work is unique and you do something that very few people can do, that's why your business is successful and people look for you. I understand that sometimes receiving so much damege equipment by its owners can be annoying, but that is part of your business and job.
    People are not perfect and neither are you. It’s not correct that you make fun of your clients in video because thanks to them you have work. In this video maybe you don't say it as a mockery, but if the console were mine and I listened to what you say I would never go back to your business again.
