you dont, i believe the implication is Asura and Chakravartin are the only two that can actually change what happens in the moment. Chakravartin was simply a fool to create someone stronger than himself.
@@Bearded_Badass I like to think it’s also to emphasize both of their struggles in the fight, seeing the way Chakravartin is struggling to complete his inputs or just flat out failing them while Asura just keeps going helps boost the impact of each blow.
@@DumbPurpleBobaCat They only seem to appear when Chakravartin becomes angry and frustrated enough. I think it's meant to ground him and signal to the audience that, despite all his powers and big words, Chakravartin is no more divine and enlightened than Asura. He is just as much of a flawed, violent, bull headed, emotional barbarian.
Honestly, I love the amount of detail in the fight and Asuras movements in general. The way his arm buckles when clashing against the BBEGs. The way Asura is whipping his body around along with each blow, to use both his emotional and physical momentum to just give everything has a little more power. Hell, the way he gets hit, and just says ‘I don’t have time to flinch’, giving the punishment right back without hesitation. Love it.
What sells it to me that this is a _struggle_ is how even when you hit everything right, it's always an exchange of blows from both sides. Blows that are presented as painful for both of them. The increasing desperation on both sides as a fight that started with flying in space throwing star sized attacks at each other degrades into a far more personal bare knuckled brawl, because both of them are simply too exhausted to throw out the big and fancy attacks anymore. The way by the end both are stumbling around, barely able to stand but still determined to win is great. Perhaps the best illustration of the thematic weight of the difference in their convictions is that while Chakravartan is ranting about an abstract, trying to muster the energy to keep fighting, when Asura finally digs for more deep enough, he realizes how simple his motive for the entire story has been. Asura's motive is so simple you really _can't_ deliver a grand speech about it, but even he hasn't really dug to the bottom this entire story until now. Mithra tries to reason with him, but his motive to kill Chakravartan is too simple for that. It is a viscerally simple reason to his actions inherently understood by anyone, and that contrast of good guys with simple motives to antagonists motivated by giant rationalizations ('it was all to choose my heir' for example) is wonderful. Whole story should be studied by would be authors because it is so well done.
@@Sorain1 I'm a would be author and trust me when I say Asura's story had a TERMENDOUS impact on me. So much so that it ended up influencing one of my stories quite a lot, alongside Berserk. I have a lot of story ideas which I'm working on but the one influenced by Asura's Wrath is by far my favorite, being both the biggest in both length and scope. Asura's story may not be the most complex or intelectual one in the world but it's sheer emotional power never fails to affect me. Mere words cannot express my love for this game, it's story and it's hero.
3:00 He was literally asking for that one. Asura had proven time and time again that he can react EXTREMELY quickly in tense situations, and he went for this over the top killmove that would clearly leave him out of it for a sec.
Qte’s in my opinion can’t stand on their own. There has to be intensity and adrenaline, dying light’s final boss was made of qte’s and everyone hated it.
@@ThatChalknot sure if you know or not but there is actual gameplay to the boss in the game, though it mostly consists of moving to the next qte with the burst.
This game needs an updated port so bad. Asuras Wrath would look absolutely incredible with HDR on a 4K tv. Plus a complete edition would help quell those DLC woes that keep people from playing this game.
One of the things this game did super well at is portraying Asura in combat and Asura with his family, both feel like different people and far cry’s from each other. Like when Asura was spending his last moments comforting Mithra, he was completely different and felt like an entirely different person from a few seconds ago.
It's still what he is though. He's not really evil. He's a man of his times. The same could easily be said of Guts as his mindset was very similar to Kratos' during his early years after the eclipse but he was never soulless about his revenge on Griffith. Sure Kratos was extreme but his care for Pandora proved that he still had a heart and soul.
Its pretty much all story with some "gameplay" inbetween, actually the one critic point people had with it: The fact that it was more Anime than game, it is literally split into Episodes!
Not always true. Going to a community college is a different experience. My American History professor put a Rick Roll question in her final. It was so unexpected and funny that I asked her if I could take a picture of it for meme purposes.
The ammount of balls on this man is insane. Normally when a big sphere of death is thrown at you, logically you would find cover, dodge, or find a shield. No, this man legit saw that and said *Imma punch my way through* cuz screw whoever hurt my daughter.

Asura isn't just a father, no. He's a legend. He risked his life to make his daughters life happier and for the greater good, knowing he'd perish with chakravartin. That is beyond a Hero's duty.
No matter how many times I watch this. I never get tired of it. Hits all the right beats and plays like a scene straight from an anime. Beautifully done my friend, beautifully done.
Are we gonna talk about how no one actually knows the scaling of Asura's power? He killed the creator or had to have created everything, which probably means my man's punches could destroy who knows how many planets or solar systems. He seriously even dodges planets that are thrown at him like rocks-

Maybe these two would have a beer together and be friends hell brothers because these two are the wrong guys you do not want to piss off one of them made hell it’s bitch for killing his rabbit The other kills the creator of his universe for making his daughter cry
The Wrath Hero! ASURA!! Quirk: Rage! His quirk allows him to tap into limitless power as long as he is enraged! Increasing his attack power and ability to break the limits of his body!
If I can add to this: it would probably be a mutant quirk due to how he’s constantly angry. However, overexposure to his quirk causes him to enter a berserk state of pure rage. This grants him a skin tight armor of something greater than Steel, at the cost of his rationality and common sense.
@@Gu3ssWhatsN3XT Dude has voiced a lot of character in anime and video games, and does a lot of good work too. But, in my opinion at least, his performance in Asura's Wrath is literally his best so far. Though he was pretty good as Gaara too.
I think asura's wrath wouldnt need a sequel, and even if it had one. I'd prefer it to be a 3d motion anime rather than a game. I had the game and as amazing as the story was and as much as I loved it, it didn't do well as a game as it was marketed to be. Yes it does have action sequences of course, but theres a lot more qte, cut scenes, than actual gameplay.

There’s nothing more dangerous in any world than a pissed off father who loves his daughter enough to give up his life if it means keeping her safe. Angry people with nothing to lose should be classified as lethal weapons.
Badass song: Check
Badass charatcer and best dad ever: Check

Finally, does it actually fit within the game itself? There is no check big enough to be on here that fitting enough!
Asura went beyond and showed that even the creator of the world means nothing to Asura if you made his daughter cry. He will save his daughter by teaching everyone what going beyond his limits really means!

Actally they planned to put asuras wrath as an anime
But it failed :c
Curioso, curioso y más curioso I didn't know that...
You right
Lunar Mage the finished episodes were put in the game as a bonus
doomguy:I AM TOO ANGRY TO DIE!!!
asura:hold my wrath
They would get along well
Especially if Asura knew what happened to daisy somehow
This is what happens if doomguy runs out of anger he makes a loan form asura
For me Asura, Doomguy/slayer and also Kratos you can add the will really get along, also three that go with the to angry to fucking die.
@@AugustoEL Add Guts from Berserk as well, honestly, I would feel sorry for whoever had to fight all of them at the same time.
@@alphazero5249 I haven't read Berserk so I have no idea of to what level of power he gets, that is why I didn't add him, but yeah he could be. I put characters that can fuck up gods.
Its kind of amazing how no matter how high the stakes are or how crazy the powers get, a lot of the best stories still end the final battle with a one on one fist fight, and it's always the coolest fight.
Thats it, this game did a Gurren Lagaan!
You know the boss is overwhelmed When you have to do QuickTime events helping him too
you dont, i believe the implication is Asura and Chakravartin are the only two that can actually change what happens in the moment.
I demand a remake or remaster.
shane blue sky same
At least a "definitive edition" that HAS the DLC
jrpludacrous and has some slightly updated game mechanics for when you actually fight.
shane blue sky yes I agree I want to play this but can’t so I support the idea of a defensive edition
if you have a ps4 and are willing to get a PS Now subscription or get the 7 day trial asura's wrath is on it
Honestly, I love the amount of detail in the fight and Asuras movements in general.
The way chakravartin moves when he wants to punch asura after the big ball throw though, hell yeah
Exactly same here the story of this game and others like it have influenced my own story for this type of stuff
Asura could've taken Chakravartin's offer and killed him.
3:00 He was literally asking for that one. Asura had proven time and time again that he can react EXTREMELY quickly in tense situations, and he went for this over the top killmove that would clearly leave him out of it for a sec.
I mean isn't that almost any fantasy anime fighting moves? Theyre super flashy but in reality theyre very open for counter attacking
Excluding the undodgeable ones like the big lazers and all
I swear to god, no game has ever done qte's as good as Wrath of Asura had.
The Wonderful 101 is very good as well. The last one in that game is godly and is one of the best scenes in gaming history.
God of war 2 and 3
Qte’s in my opinion can’t stand on their own. There has to be intensity and adrenaline, dying light’s final boss was made of qte’s and everyone hated it.
FF16 is here to take up the torch.
Is that clucking skull servent?
AtticusSP the game literally just needs HD textures and it will be a perfect remake

One of the things this game did super well at is portraying Asura in combat and Asura with his family, both feel like different people and far cry’s from each other. Like when Asura was spending his last moments comforting Mithra, he was completely different and felt like an entirely different person from a few seconds ago.

@@salhb737tm2 I dunno. Chakravartin was looking pretty stoppable there at the end.
Asura, Guts, Kratos. These three are EASILY the best anti-heroes in all of fiction. xD
That One GT Guy Anti-hero is pretty strong for Kratos
It's still what he is though. He's not really evil. He's a man of his times. The same could easily be said of Guts as his mindset was very similar to Kratos' during his early years after the eclipse but he was never soulless about his revenge on Griffith. Sure Kratos was extreme but his care for Pandora proved that he still had a heart and soul.
At most I'd put him as an anti-villian, not hero
dude kratos has a lot of mistakes as any other human being, and all the gods cause much more death, famine, monsters, etc in that world...

This is probably the only game where QTA work. And it work beautifully.
(Never played the game.)
The gameplay itself is pretty mediocre, you pretty much play it for everything outside of it (And really, the gameplay makes up only a small portion.)
What do you mean everything outside of it?
Outside of the gameplay itself: the cutscenes/QTAs.
So it's very tory driven?
Its pretty much all story with some "gameplay" inbetween, actually the one critic point people had with it: The fact that it was more Anime than game, it is literally split into Episodes!

Austin Gutierrez how would a sequel for this game work properly
Honestly i just wish that more games like asura's wrath were made

I think asura's wrath wouldnt need a sequel, and even if it had one. I'd prefer it to be a 3d motion anime rather than a game. I had the game and as amazing as the story was and as much as I loved it, it didn't do well as a game as it was marketed to be. Yes it does have action sequences of course, but theres a lot more qte, cut scenes, than actual gameplay.
This ending is basically the sequel.
There was supposed to be a 2nd full fledged game as a sequel, but the first game sold too poorly so they just made a DLC as the ending and 'sequel'.
