    Brilliant! Thank you for this. We have two!
    Ol' Bluey is our Miele Solution H.E.P.A. S5280, and is still going strong after over 15 years! Now fixed after the cord reel snagged after being pulled out a little too harshly, and cut the cable just before the connectors. Yep, I too had a moment with the spring. Comical.
    Canary is our Miele C2 Complete, dumped on a building site and wombled by my kids. Covered in crud, I've stripped it down to find plaster dust everywhere, including inside the motor. I've stripped it down and the armature is fine, carbons have lots of length left, but the bearings are bone-dry.
    I'll make it work!

    We watched your video over and over until we got it just right. So happy when it suddenly all fell into place. Thank you so much. 😀

      Awesome, glad it helped! That's 60% of the battle with them, lining everything up just so so it call clips into place!

    Thanks Sam. I love when you messed up on the springs and didnt edit it out. This happened me and was a nightmare to fix. I eventually fixed my cable reel and cleaned it up. its good for another few years hopefully. Keep up the good videos mate👍

    I feel happy for that vacuum, honestly though you must make peoples days.

    Thanks mate! Saved me £100 on a new cord reel. I did struggle a bit to take the reel/spring assembly apart (and no footage on your video), but managed it in the end. My issue was the exact same as the one on your specimen - cheers.

    Thanks. Do you know how to test the motor? I see 4 contacts but i do not know how to check for either continuity or to power it. Thanks

    Probably one of my favourite style Miele vacuums. Is this the same cleaner that knackered them 2 black S5210’s that was on your channel a while back?

    I found it easier to assemble the reel and wind the cord onto it before attaching the spring and inserting it back in the assembly.

    Great videos! When you are faced with a blackened commutator like in this video do you clean it up at all like sand the carbon off of it? I'm faced with a similar one on my very dusty and very dirty 12 year old Cat & Dog 2200W. I'm giving it a good clean, re-greasing the bearings and wondering whether to do anything to the commutator before putting it back together. It was still working before disassembly but had a strong burning smell. Thanks

      0000 wire wool then make sure there's no shards around works well I find! You don't want to take any material off, just buff the carbon deposits off!

    For the life of me I can not open the fan it's screwed so tight

    • @beko1987
      @beko1987  2 роки тому +1

      They can be sometimes. I get the impact driver out if it's too bad. Doesn't help that the fan has to come off to do anything, unlike other motors where you can take the back off and hold the armature to undo the fan nut

    • @Crimsontears95
      @Crimsontears95 2 роки тому

      @Beko1987 I have an impact driver and even that is struggling I'm using cloth to hold the fan but I can't hold it tight enough for the drill to work and not just spin

    • @beko1987
      @beko1987  2 роки тому

      You spinning it anti clockwise? It's a reverse thread. Might help, if not then it's a massive pain when they seize. Zero places to grip anything as you'll bend the fan easily. Cloth over the fan is a must too, had many deep horrible cuts from that

    • @Crimsontears95
      @Crimsontears95 2 роки тому

      @Beko1987 I am spinning it anti clockwise should I spin it clock wise ?

    Hi Mr Beko1987, can you please get yourself a new rug to work on, as the current one is really off-putting.

      Hi! Already done! See the back mat video. That's been changed since then too! But don't worry, ye olde rug hasn't gone far, got one more job for it! (it is in the garden atm though)
