I tell myself when I go to the store, I cannot buy everything that I think is cute. Then I remind myself that I will ALWAYS find something cute, so move on. That helps me to control my spending.😂
One thing I do in stores is take photo of something I know I’m gonna buy but don’t need. If I’m still thinking about it after I get home or the next day then I go back and get it. Sometimes looking at the photo is enough. Also excessive shopping is often an emotional fix or response to something else. It could be a way of feeling in control. Maybe something in our lives or backgrounds that we’ve accepted as the norm but in reality is not at all healthy. Also remember that social media is constantly (and deliberately) showing you how lame you are in you regular day-to-day life
CeCe, just admit that you’re a shopaholic!! 🙂 Do you tell yourself No OR do you justify your shopping b/c you have the funds but lack discipline?? (Necessities excluded) Complete 1-2 household small tasks when there’s a little bit of down time at work (WFH). It can be laundry, meal prepping, stripping the beds, vacuuming, etc. Great video!
You are doing good on this low buy. Are you surprising yourself? Amazon, eating out and skincare is my kryptonite, but I'm doing much better this year.
Congratulations on your success. 👏🏾👏🏾 is there a void that you could be trying to fill? I get a reading from my Angels when I do this, “Boredom and discontentment”.
Hey CC, I definitely can relate. With this no buy/ low buy I have been doing well with only purchasing what I Need and not want. It’s been a struggle 🤦🏾♀️😂 but I’ve done very well this far. My triggers are similar to what you mention. When I think about (for example) money that I have spent over the years on makeup; I’m not an influencer nor am I a MUA so I don’t need 50 million foundations 👀😅 the only face I’m making up is my own and I don’t get sent free products or do reviews and ect so Why do I feel the need to have or try out so many foundations Bahaaaa Girl I was a mess.
I really enjoyed this video. Don't be to hard on yourself CeCe. Last year I was forced into a no/low buy year and this year I just decided to keep it up. I realize I was just buying just because I could and eneded up with stuff that I wouldn't use. For me I grew up not having a lot and not being able to afford a lot of things and now that I can I felt as if I should buy whatever I wanted. I'm at the point in my life that I'm over wasteful spending but I'm still going to live and enjoy the fruits of my labor.
Decluttering every once in awhile helps me with low buy because Decluttering reminds me of all the money I've wastes on stuff I shouldn't have bought to begin with. Eating out is harder for me though because there isn't that reminder.
WOW listening to this really hit home with me big time. Especially when you said if it cost more then it must be good so I need it. I have always been that way and as I have gotten older I realize it’s not true at all.
I look forward to seeing the closet declutter videos. I need to declutter my closets. I've also been guilty of buying items, specially clothes, that I knew would not work. The rule that helps me is if I find anything that I don't like about the clothing item when I try it on then I'm not buying it or I'm sending it back immediately. If I keep the item I usually don't wear it much and I feel like I wasted my money.
Same. I was just watching a video yesterday related to style. The lady's name is Hannah Poston. She talks about personal style but she also has a video where she discusses the formula she uses to match her wardrobe to her current lifestyle.
Proud of you Cece! Low buys are unattainable. Low buys are more realistic. I immediately saw the damage I could do on Amazon and restricted myself immediately. I wish I would have done the same with Sephora and makeup purchases in general but , I’ve been doing so so good. My weakness is self care: makeup, skin care, body care, hair care perfum. I am disciplined in all other areas. My triggers are I was so discipline in my early 20’s now that I have what need. I want what I want. Great convo Cece
I've been on the journey to define my personal style over the last year, so I jumped down the Kibbe Body type rabbit hole. Now that I know my body type and color stories it is so much easier for me to see a clothing item and know it's going to work. There are things I see that I love but now I know why it's not going to work. Also knowing all of your measurements inseam, hip, waist, bust etc. are so helpful when you need to shop for something online. Knowing your triggers is good stuff!

Taking the picture is a good way of doing it. I have the now syndrome that I need to get rid of!

I am! I know it! That's the first step lol!
You are doing good on this low buy. Are you surprising yourself?
Amazon, eating out and skincare is my kryptonite, but I'm doing much better this year.
Thanks! And I am surprised at how well I'm doing this month! I feel like I can really keep this up.
Congratulations on your success. 👏🏾👏🏾 is there a void that you could be trying to fill? I get a reading from my Angels when I do this, “Boredom and discontentment”.
I've thought about that. I don't think so...just boredom I guess. I've been like this for as long as I can remember.
I try to have a balance between treating myself but not overbuying. Been feeling buyers remorse way more though ha. Great vid

It's so hard to limit yourself when you've been doing it for years. I have the hardest time so I get it!!

You said it!! Buying because I can. That's what I do. I'm trying to reprogram my mind away from that.
Decluttering every once in awhile helps me with low buy because Decluttering reminds me of all the money I've wastes on stuff I shouldn't have bought to begin with. Eating out is harder for me though because there isn't that reminder.
OMG! Same! Decluttering makes me sick to my stomach with all of the money I've wasted
So relatable ….we got this 💪
YYEEESSS!!! Let's go! I was hoping it wasn't too much talking lol.

Not true at all!!! I really feel like this is a game of reprogramming the way we grew up to think.
I'm on Low buy year, by force... It's been really real. I commend you for you discipline.
Thanks!! And no matter the reason you are on yours, just know you'll come out better on the other side!
Unsubscribing from the emails definitely lessened my shopping
That also seems to be helping me!!
I definitely can relate. I have done better with food deliver services but it's like I need a package from Amazon to come at least4 times a week lol
Amazon will get you every time!

They are coming! I need to really find my style. That's my issue, I don't have a personal style and I buy pieces all over the place. 😭
Same. I was just watching a video yesterday related to style. The lady's name is Hannah Poston. She talks about personal style but she also has a video where she discusses the formula she uses to match her wardrobe to her current lifestyle.
My other issue is buying things just because it’s on sale or a good deal
That!!! Gets me every time!
Wow.. 60 is a lot. Do you only shop there😂❤
No lol. But it’s just so convenient 😭😭

See I was the opposite in my 20's and I just never stopped. I have to get it together over here lol.
