Petrolicious is Moving...

- After more than 10 years of independently promoting car passion, Petrolicious is proud to announce that it is now part of the duPont Registry Group (DRG).
By merging with the DRG, Petrolicious is joining a range of other household names in the luxury and collector car market. Other than duPont Registry, the original and still the best place to buy and sell - or just drool over - collector cars, we will be alongside Sotheby's Motorsport Auctions, duPont Registry Insurance, Canossa Events and several other illustrious automotive businesses.
We are looking forward to bringing you on the journey as we map out the next 10 years in Petrolicious history with DRG.

Drive Tastefully® - Авто та транспорт
Petrolicious was ahead of it's time with the quality content they were creating. Why they abruptly stopped never made sense to me. Hopefully DuPont does not destroy the brand with this acquisition.
I'm hoping, too, brother.
It suddenly stopped because it was sold to someone. JUST before it was sold, I managed to buy the membership for life. I got a few months out of that, then radio silence. I hope that the new owners do something meaningful with it, and also that they somehow honour those of us who helped the old Petrolicious out financially.
It suddenly stopped because the owner unwisely expressed his opinion on a certain subject and basically had the brand he’d worked so hard to build damaged forever. He was naive in the extreme to publicly state his opinion but the backlash was way out of proportion in my opinion.
It abruptly stopped because the original founder/owner said same racist crap. He was essentially forced to sell it, and the new owners apparently didn't know what to do with it. I wasted money on a lifetime founder membership just before all this happened. Would be nice if the new owners could rectify this in some way.
The so-called racist crap was that BLM was a scam and this was absolutely right.
Please guys, bring back the "Drive Tastefully" issues, they were so good
I second that. I unsub after they got away from the story telling and people telling why the car was so special to them specifically
What is this shaky camera Fast and Furious filming? The trailer showed nothing of what the old Petrolicious was. We fell in love with it because it had soul.
Real cars, real owners, REAL good❗️
miss the old petrolicious, not this shell of themselves
Used to be Xcar
True.
So true. I hope it's not totally dead.
I miss the Drive Tastefully issues, so good :(
@@Che1seabluesdrogba11 Xcar became Carfection and that got killed off.
Damn, I sure miss the glory days of Petrolicious videos. I hope this merger brings many more amazing stories
I joined Petrolicious as a founding member years ago - cost me hundreds of pounds. I was promised access to exclusive content, events and magazines. Soon after, the main guy left - then nothing. Tried to write to get my money back. Nothing. I guess they’ve taken everyone’s money and banked it to show that the company has profit so they can merge/sell. Something that was once great turned into a great rip off. No one’s ever going to put their hand in their own pocket and trust them again. It’s a name that has soured. Particularly as there’s so much great content around now since they disappeared.
You made a bad purchase 4.5 years ago and you’re still salty about it?
The founder effectively had to panic sell the company over some bad tweets. It was sold to a former top gear producers company and now it’s being sold again. That founding member money is long gone. DuPont is essentially an angel investor at this point. They’ve effectively had no cash flow for years.
I did the same thing, and I'm still pissed about it. I made an investment in what I thought was something good for the automotive community and really just lost my money.
Funnily enough I received a member’s email from them yesterday stating that as part of the Petrolicious relaunch, what my Membership will now include. This, after years of silence!!!!
So I can get ‘50% off a 12-month subscription to DuPont registry magazine’. I was promised free Petrolicious magazine for life.
‘Waived listing fee on an initial Sotheby's Motorsport consignment’ - WTF - and only on initial consignment!
‘Privileged access to unique buying and selling opportunities on Sotheby’s Motorsport’ - this is just a selling opportunity.
I think this just adds insult to injury as they’ve taken my data for extra marketing opportunities.
Sorry scudinferno...that IS some good info, but fail to see why someone shouldn't be upset and wary when someone claimed several hundred pounds from them. It wasn't their fault, and falls squarely on the shoulders of those who did it, regardless of any excuses about what occurred. I'd be wary and not real keen to invest again either.
@@CastleGraphics - I'll never spend money with Petrolicious until they make it right. The folks who bought it from the previous owner didn't do anything, and the new owners, DuPont Registry, probably won't either. These kind of issues become the property of whomever buys the company and it doesn't speak well of them when they ignore the folks who financially supported their brand.
This is an old short from the original Petrolicious before it was taken over.
I just hope whoever has kick-started it again does so in the spirit of the original.
Intresting cars and owner stories, backed up with amazing cinematography.
What's this move mean? Haven't seen content from you guys on here in over a year.
I thought Petrolicious was gone. Now they're back? Hmm...looks like a disappointment is coming up. Its not as pure.
I've missed Petrolicious. I remember being hooked when the 240Z video came out all those years ago.
I go back and watch that regularly. This video here seems to have been put together by a Hollywood crew more interested in fake sound and graphics than communicating the real feel of a vehicle via the passion of the owner. I hope the 240Z video stays online.
That 240Z video was also what brought me to the channel
As long as there's not a pay wall... I'll follow
Ah yes...reaping the day-to-day benefits of capitalism yet wanting everything for free 👌
@@sports2hedz542 nah, they've just been so inconsistent that I'm not going to pay to find out if it's good 🤷♂️
I hope Petrolicious comes back in a big way. You know how it is with remakes...
288 GTO = Quite possibly the best looking car in the history of anything
One of my favorite chanels, telling amazingly cinematic automotive stories. Hopefully you guys keep your DNA through this merger.
Sure glad I bought the founder membership, that really paid off.
😂
Same here, it was very disappointing....
If it's the same principle as Hagerty with a brand behind them financing the videos, this could work. We'll have to wait and see how it goes I guess...
Keep making film guys
petrolicious. you guys always inspired us. hoping for your success. and also, hoping us loyal fans who were first here, are kept in the process. Godspeed, team.
Great video!! Less music only engine sound. Regards from Europe Barcelona Spain
Man how this channel has fallen. Used to be my favorite on the platform. Unsubscribing.
Correct, I loved Petrolicious
"CALL THE NATIONAL GUARD, THIS IS A MATTER THAT DESERVES ABSOLUTE PRIORITY!"
I did not know Petrolicious existed anymore. And looking at these hysteric effects, cuts and angles i know why.
That was some pretty amazing shots, but what was even more amazing, the sound design. Stellar!
Would we still get cinematics?
If I’m
Not
Mistaken the previous petrolicious ceo made some comment and people basically cancelled him and he resigned so the channel has been basically inactive since and it looks like it’s for good now sadly.
Sadly he was right at the time look at the state of this country now completely insane… I just hope this channel brings back the beautiful quality of filming with gorgeous cars I wish them the best of luck
@@sandyvalentin3072 Can you guys explain me a bit about thsi whole thing? And what kind of insanity is now happening in the country?
Cancelled, eh?
Right? Hardly... Afshin is an idiot @@sandyvalentin3072
@@sandyvalentin3072 no he wasn't. The state of the country (assuming you mean America) is principally being ruined by white racists who think voting for Trump a third time is a good idea.
something to compete with Hagerty finally? can't wait!
Love your guys content. It has inspired me to make my own. Love it.
I miss Petrolicious, bring it back duPont
The artwork is incredible
Congratulations and i love the GTO
I really missed these petrolicious videos
Following the Cammisa/Hagerty route.. solid play.. hopefully the content is as good as the older stuff..
Just remember what happened to motor trend when they went the premium pay to watch route
Yeah roadkill really pissed off a lot of loyal fans when they broke the promise of never leaving UA-cam and free content
Yes. Sadly, it was the beginning of the end for them, a final blaze of glory, that is now being followed by the guttering out of the flame.
@@christophernoto Technically the DRIVE network was the first to do subscription service..... For better or worse they were ahead of their time.
Yes, they exponentially increased their income. Motor Trend's UA-cam channel has grossed roughly $3.2 million dollars over the course of 18 years whereas Motor Trend On Demand grosses roughly $130 million per month. Comically their UA-cam channel makes about $10k per month off people basically tuning in to complain. Regarding @jebediahgentry7029 comment that they broke their promise, they actually didn't. Roadkill is still posted on UA-cam for viewers to watch for free. You just have to pay for MOTD if you want to see FULL episodes.
Roadkill was the best show on UA-cam.
They threw it all away
Bring back the old Petrolicious!
Petrolicious is the reason this channel exists
what a come back!!!😁🇿🇦🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Petrolicious is alive?? Groovy!
Super video! Especially the compact cassette! Who knows what kind of wristwatch is at 0:19?
Bathys 100 Fathom
With that large date window, looks like the Bathys Hawaii model.
This production makes me very optimistic!!!!!! PLEASE BE AWESOME
Personally ni would have thought Hagerty would make for a better partner. But, I'm still excited to see what comes.
Hopefully they get back to basics with the channel. The drive tastefully series was the very essence of the channels success. Even if we get 6 episodes a year, thats better than the wasteland of the last 4 years.
The most difficult choice a man can make in his life, if you have the money and opportunity, will it be a F40 or a 288GTO, I think in the end I would pick the 288
Drive tastefully into the sunset.
The GTO was ahead of his time, nice movie 🔝🔝😎🤩
It sounds great!
Time moves on.
This 288 is awsome ❤❤❤
Came to the comments to reminisce on the old Petrolicious. Was not disappointed in being disappointed together at what it's become!
More videos please!
Congratulations!
Amazing iconic car
Anybody else notice the drivers gloves changed at 0:56?
The Ferrari 275 GTB NART spider is still my favorite
More like a farewell movie.
No problem. Plenty of competition...
I really enjoyed the videos you use to make - even this one on the 308 gto which came out what? 6-7 years ago? Or when you did stories or rare cars like a teen girl owning a first gen M5. Gone are those days. This sounds alot like trying to get people to pay to watch ad's for lower quality content.
288 GTO
The bar is high here, if it sucks we'll know and not show, pretty simple🤔
Hope for the best and fear for worse.
Nice!
Me siento como cuando esperaba los nuevos episofios de Don't hug me im scared.
Now that is the way to drive a Ferrari!
So what's that mean for us?
Come back 🙏🏼
Video was like watching an earthquake...another one bites the dust...
The 288 GTO is my favorite Ferrari of all time, but this video does not do it justice. If this is the future style of Petrolicious, I don't think it will retain many of the original fans.
Yesssss🎉
i paid for founding membership and got nothing - i dont trust petrolicious
Same here... I had big expectation from them
I’ve been watching them since 2014 and still not a million subs? 😢
interesting.
Àll the best
Single Digit Gang Gang Gang.
Let’s go
It was good.
Eccoliiii
have a 944 clubsport, 1 of 17, if u want to give a try
After that guy left that owned it it all went down hill
Those nice fancy leather driving gloves magically turned into "Mechanix" at the 0:56 mark... Editing blooper or marketing via subliminal message? 😂
Let's hope the videos will be back... the rest I don't care much
The original founder has to come back.
Beware lots of buzzer around here….. 😂
Please make more films
Sure hope they don’t start shipping C-8 with UA-cam videos 😊
another one bytes the dust
Drive Tastefully, ha? Used to be… Now sadly only some Need for Speed style intro, with shaky camera work and annoying music… Not much left of the original Petrolicious…
Hooters Hooters Yum Yum Yum. Hooters Hooters On A Girl Thats Dumb. Champange Wishes And Caviar Dreams Gents
Unfortunately they royally screwed over creators and we all grew tired of rich dudes fawning over their newly purchased classic.
I so f* hate these F&F sounds of shifting. It is so embarrassing / weird / lame.
The P in Petrolicious used to stand out, used to be an Italic serif script!!!!
Was classy elegant and knew it was sophisticated! Every video had its own specific font and typeface!
it was Gran Turismo in video form!!! It was about the soul and the details and the long panning lingering shots of headlights and gear knobs!
Now even the graphic design for the channel is cheap and boring reverting to non italic san serif font!? Which is probably for casuals like Forza!!
OG Petrolicious knew its audience like GT it was car porn!!!
This is whatever Forza is!! phoned in and content made to chase what others are doing, boardroom meetinged to death!!
bummer
When are you going to start making videos properly again? Nobody remembers 2020 anymore and we miss having good quality classic car forward content.
The Great Monopolization of great content ( Must monetize ) !!
please content in 4K so it will be a new car porn
AND?????
This feels like a Top Gear video intro 🔥
Jump cuts and fake shifting noises aren't Petrolicious. Not a great start, DuPont.
DU PONT... do better... do not make fans upset by messing up something people loved
Must have run out of money, time to scam people again?
U came back from the dead just after ester. R U the sone of god?
Love that car...
I was such a fan. This, the above, isn't Petrolicious. Please return to being authentic, telling genuine passion stories of owners and cars. Love you guys, but this video was saddening.
only the director thinks that was cool - a lot of work for nothing
Edit and delete the tape scene. One does not put the radio on in a sports car.
