I've read for a year to two the wood continues drying out and framing can settle with no foundation problems. Some small cracks can develop just from that. And "Plus thermal and seismic moving". I've just started researching Drywall repairs and it is an expertise. Thank You to all you commenters with that expertise.......
I’ve only ever used fiber tape and never mud before I stick the stuff. Has a very slight adhesive. I tape my entire room then go mud crazy after. Never have any cracks, and you don’t really need to hold the fiber in place on the tape coat either 🤙🏼
@@dattienle37 Yes sir. Bagged mud is a bit more difficult to use, but worth it for a stronger tape coat imo. Honestly I barely use premix bucket mud, takes way too long to dry, and even longer when winter rolls in! Both have benefits though, just depends on the application.
@@dattienle37 You don't need to use hot mud for FF. That's a HUGE advantage for DIYers or beginners. FF is the ultimate for patches and repairs because it's stronger and more crack resistant than conventional methods.
@@Phantoma3 it’s 76% stronger than paper tape after the second coat of mud is applied. Because the weave is porous. This allows the mud to become part of the tape for a stronger bond. It’s also makes it more resistant to cracking and excellent for patches. We do use paper tape when drywalling homes.
As many cracks we're in that house you would think that was in North Texas USA......but fibafuse is the best.....I use it in slot of scenarios and it never let's me down.....it just takes a certain touch when using it in internals with a mid knife
Thanks Bryce yeah the glue would make it better again I imagine. Yeah the holes make sense to me allows it to mesh and link on both sides. Thanks for watching Pal please subscribe
Im hoping thats not a support wall. They single studded that opening. Now you know why the drywall cracked right there. And up under. I dont think metal mesh will hold for too long in that situation. Thats the framers fault.
Yes I also do wear gloves now because of the splinters. So I can confirm that you should wear gloves because you do get splinters between the fingers which doesn't hurt it's just annoying.
Don't blame the finisher or the all purpose compound. Blame the hangers! If you had to put that many screws in to secure everything it's definitely their fault!
I don't care what tape or mud you use it's all settling and should not be covered under one year...... but doesn't mean we don't fix it for free The way of the trade Bid it higher lol
You waste a lot of material You might as kind of dry you need to have a little bit more weather My opinion 35 years dry Waller repair man and finish service
yes, that is perfect use on corner, because paper is less,so when u 1st coat neary hide the paper, when u second coat apply a thin coat so easy to hide all the fibafuse。do u use instragram?
use tapepro 3 inch glazer and all purpose easy flow flush your first coat, than rough sand, after 3inch tapepro plastic anglehead with same all purpose easy flow,u can try, that come perfect corner in my opinionis Gary holt Master teach me。
you have to be pretty careful not to tear it though. I like FF but I prefer paper for internals. I don't think the AP is the problem, looks more like dry tapes. When you use the automatic taper with AP its pretty wet mud, so it sucks in, I don't think it will pull off like that. A bigger concern when using the long setting setting compounds like 90 in warm weather is that it drys out before it sets.
Hi...no it's a 45 minute compound with salt in it. I don't use 90 minute compound. I find the longer time compounds take to set the weaker they are... Not sure if that's true.. just my opinion
@@jerseyjim9092 What makes it stronger is that it’s made from woven Fiberglass so your mud envelopes all sides of the FF which when dry it makes it stronger. It also has a tighter weave than the old fiberglass mesh tape which makes it more resistant to cracking. It reminds me of the fiberglass they use to make casts when you break an arm. Fiberglass is used because it’s a incredibly strong material. 💪🏽
Fibafuse is absolutely awesome
Yeah mate, I love it. Never have to worry about bubbles again. Thanks for watching.
Those cracks had nothing to do with the tape. Thats settling from bad foundation. As you can see from the drywall spliting diagonally
Right you are bud ..watching buddy trying to screw where there is no wood was painfullt funny though ..obviously not a tradesman

Yeah it's good gear the fibafuse.
I've never used it in internals yet. It can break pretty easy when wet.
Thanks for sharing Kenny
I like to mix in some glue with the mud for critical areas like this. I like your idea of making holes for the mud to key in. Great vid.

Yeah man totally agree with you. Your method sounds ideal too.
Gud job just make sure your paper tape is long enough in the corner ,keep up the gud work junior plenty of this work always around

Yeah that's a great point my friend
People have said something about wearing gloves because of fiberglass splinters? Have you had a problem with this??
Yes I also do wear gloves now because of the splinters.

MFD Mike I get lots of splinters and burns running it in the bazooka with no gloves lol gloves help big time lol
Yeah I always wear gloves now too
Always use gloves and do not rub your fingertips on the wall until after the wall is primed and dried
If all else fails I found this out working with fiberglass, use this in the shower. Works great.

No, cornice cement.

Cornice cement fo life

Get a drywall tray, and some 5 min. Mud

Hey stranger, how are you keeping?
I never heard which was stronger
Shit, thanks for posting lol that's the reason I came to this video

Why are you not teaching proper handling of fibafuse its fiberglass long sleeves gloves glasses
Bullshit. You would never get anything done.
Well I didn't read that on the label. I didn't know it was harmful. Perhaps that was the part in another language
Only if you ate it and choked on it.
But it also didn't say do not eat... Lol.
No seriously I don't remember reading on the label any hazards using the product
Don't forget your tampon too
Looks like only problem in this house was poorly done footing because so much movement.
Yeah. Thats exactly it. Happens a lot around here
