Hello! the specs on the Huntsman Mini for the improved linear switches are actually different than the previous one! It comes with a 1.2mm actuation and 48g. This is so much better for typing, and the only reason I actually purchased it.
Could u tell me the pros and cons and your opinion on should I get it

@@mohawk4759now in 2024 it is, they made it denser, and they fixed almost every problem, less rattle, the stabalisers have been fixed, and the rattle has been reduced.
Great review I really liked your presentation. I went with the razer huntsman mini because of the 2 year warranty that it comes with versus the Amazon boards with no warranty. Even the ducky only has 1 year warranty. I know the razer is more expensive than the rest but to me it's worth it because of the warranty period. 🙂
I've used these switches for about a year now, and the combination of their 1mm actuation distance with 45g actuation force means that I have tons of accidental keystrokes. Sometimes even resting my hand on this board activates keys, which is especially annoying when I'm in game, fully concentrating on what's going on in front of me in an intense game and the force from a resting finger accidentally causes me to mispress keys. Another issue with these switches is that they regularly stay actuated after completing a keystroke. This is usually remedied by pressing the key again, but sometimes it takes five or so presses to fix the problem, which is a huge deal when playing fast-paced competitive games. I hope these switches are better now, but they definitely aren't for me.
Then you should probably use the Apex Pro you can choose your actuation point. The 1mm Actuation Point is clearly not for you because you fat finger your keys
use a wrist rest. That way you do not have to rest your palms on the keyboard

For me the purple switches in the huntsman are absolutely perfect. Very fast, light to press and yet they have a very clear tactile feeling, so i never get accidental key presses. Sure it's loud but i actually enjoy the sound of a good tactile switch.

Your passion and honesty shines though in your work. I am also well aware that you are not a hater of Razor because of your positive reviews of their mice. I especially love how much you went out of you way in reviewing the Glorious products without falling for the hype. Like you say, "good product, not companies".
The other day I picked up the Huntsman mini with linear switches. Personally I really love the board. I was looking into getting the optical switches to see how they are and I am not disappointed. I am by no stretch a Razer fan boy, but I will give them credit for trying to improve their products. This is not the same Razor from 5 years ago. I will agree that $130 is a bit high and this board should sit at around $99-$109 easily. For the average person who just wants to walk into Best Buy, pick up a board and go home, this works out well. For the more refined enthusiast, they will go out of their way to look for the myriad of selections out there or just simply build their own board.

i say that if you're planning on getting this keyboard you should get it while its one sale (like me) because otherwhise i feel like it's not worth 120 let alone 130 for the red switches (also yes i am aware that this comment is 9 months old)

The linears feel lightning fast. This is solely based off of their optical design which is why I think they are the fastest keyswitch.
A big pet peeve I have with Razer is that they exclusively make exposed switch design keyboards. A closed case really improves the acoustics of the board. At the end of the day I would've been happier with a Blackwidow Mini for a 100 bucks with their normal switches. Razer Yellows are still my favorite key switches

I have this exact keyboard same linear switches same color and it is 10000% better than the clicky purple switches 💯💯 I personally love this keyboard with my different color keycaps ❤️ runs smooth and well designed and sturdy too can’t go wrong with this keyboard !!

Exactly. Ducky, Drevo, Glorious and Kemove are stuck with Cherry and clones, Razer did something new and kudos for that. The only thing Razer should change ASAP is Synapse and take out all that corporate crap in the software.
he definitely did not say it has the best sound out of other keyboards. he said it's better than the clicky version of only the razer keyboard. these still have the worst sound out of every linear switch, some of the worst stabilizers, and a cheap plastic, light body. but yeah it is pretty fast and good for gaming if you don't care about feeling of the switch and sound.

The reason i still wanna get this is cause here in Norway the apex costs 250$, and the huntsman like 150$. And all this gk/dk, durgod and all these keyboards that are not in stores here gets an additional 50$ price tag cause of shipping and taxes
Just got mine in the mail from the latest batch and it's absolutely phenomenal. Not sure if they made any changes but, I'm in love. I hated on it at first but, finally caved out of curiosity...packed up my Apex Pro and this baby lives on my desk now.

@@yihongng7497 all things taken into account if you truly dont need those extra keys the mini is the better keyboard as long as you like and enjoy linear switches (the reds). The purples actually are pretty bad.. Theres obviously a lot more to it but thats my take. the mini is easy enough to get around with all the shortcuts and such on it so that wasent really an issue but when i play games i use the f1-f4 keys and not having them and trying to rebind for me felt unnatural since ive done so for like 10 years. Keyboard specfic i prefered the minis switches even though the apex pro were buttery smooth also they just felt cheap due to the construction of the board itself being plastic beyond the top plate. The abs caps on the apex are complete shit but aftermarkets fix that aspect. There is so many give and takes on these things but in the end it literally is if you want function keys get the pro tkl if you dont car get the mini. (note i made the right windows key left arrow and right ctrl key right arrow to retain the ability to use arrows when i wanted without using a key combo.
130$ is to much for me bought the GK 61 red switch (loved your review of it ) two weeks ago i know apples and oranges but for - 43$ it's batter value in my opinion
The speed is very noticeable, the response is lightning fast and helps your strafing game significantly with the instant response.
I've got a Huntsman Elite with the Red switches and I decided to mod it to tone down the noise. I took three o-rings and put them on each stabilizer (the plastic clip on the larger keys not the wire) an added dielectric grease in between the clips, and it turned down the total noise by about 50 percent. I personally like the noise that the red switches make, and on a larger board they actually sound nicer because there's more room inside the case for acoustics. While I enjoy the way my board sounds, it took about an hour and is a step I wish I didn't have to do myself.
The elite doesn’t come with red switches tho

I commented on the other video about deciding to go with the Drop Alt. Well I'm back! I actually wasn't a fan of the alt, and decided to give the huntsman mini a try with the linear optical switches. This keyboard is actually now my main and my favorite keyboard for gaming and regular use. I love the switches on this thing and I really like how it has all the FN key buttons on the side. This is great for people like myself who are new to 60%. I have even put some custom keycaps on this board with no issues. I think the clicky switch one is not worth the price, but the red linear switches are well worth it.
Wait till u get a Venus or Mecha mini in your hands, you will think way different.
The Venus has a lot of ping compared to the mini and the mecha chatters a shit ton after a few months of use as well as the Venus. Stick with the huntsman mini until they update the stabs, material of the top plate, weighting, rubber feet and the switch wobble. If that’s all fixed, the price would be ridiculously high but the board would be near perfection.

They all sound cheap for me because of spring ping and over the top hollowness, but the top one sounds best still especially for stabilizers
The ping you hear from the Durgod boards aren't spring ping, it's ping from the aluminum plate. Also, I have one of those Durgod boards, and the ping isn't nearly as noticeable as it is on video.

If that were the case, then there would also be ping for the Razer keyboard. Razer doesn't lube their switches, and they don't ping. From my experience, spring ping is more of a crunchy sound, and plate ping is more of a ting-y sound.
@@silverback_gorilla397 My gateron ink switches ping like hell without lube. I desolder a few kailh jades in my Venus to lube the springs and the ping went away.

It's loud. I'm not a razer fan but the razer mini has a nice sound that is also pretty quiet. It sounds like it would be nice to type on. I just wish they have the TKL version of this kb, cus I can't stand 60%.

Got mine today. I used a ducky one 2 mini before with red switches. Personally I like the razer better. It’s a lot more quiet and I feel like the switches r faster
They are more silent because of dampaner (you're not comparing them with silent red which is not fair) plus they recquire more force to actuate and have less travel distance. I don't see the point here

Yeah, I do prefer the Razer optical switches. And I did lube all the switches and stabs and it's wayyy better after that. If you do get this keyboard you definitely gotta lube at least the stabs

Great honest review brother. Ive been using my keyboard for about 2 weeks now with opto mechanical.
Coming from a GMMK its definitley not as sturdy of a build. All down to personal preference I really love the Opto Mechanical switch.
My next upgrade will be the ducky, but at the moment this keyboard feels great to play games on and type.
A lot of rattle if you pick up the board and swing it side to side.
Yes the ping is there.
BUT. When you're gaming none of this matters. The rattle non existent when used as intended. The ping cannot be heard either with my headset. I really have to pay attention and focus on the ping to hear it without a headset.
To each their own. Overpriced? Yes.
Super clean, synapse RGB is some of the best and no other company can really compare to the customization and the brightness of these lights.
For 90 bucks this would be a steal.

Mr TechNe, one popular game that people play who require a performant keyboard are Osu! players. It's a very popular rhythm game if you haven't checked it out. It really puts a lot of strain on the switches in terms of rapid actuation. So if you need another example for a future video, there's one!
My Durgod Hades with Mx Speeds (thank you for recommending it, you convinced me to get it 🙏) is arriving tomorrow, and I'm keen to compare it with the Huntsman Mini as I've found the Razer to be the best of my keyboards so far just for pure performance.
What bothers me and ultimately led me to getting the Durgod, was the dampening they used in the switches in the Mini. They feel unlike other linears I've used and I don't like the very mushy feeling they have when bottomed out. They also have what feels like less spring than the non-dampened linears from the Huntsman TKL and that makes them feel like they less crisp, and recover slower, even if it's possibly a false impression.
My Huntsman TKL's spacebar stabilizers broke when I tried to change the caps early after getting it, so that was what motivated me to get the Mini (making sure not to fiddle with the caps and make the same mistake twice), and now I'm basically done with Razer keyboards due to the yucky dampened switches and awful profile support (i.e. needing Synapse running for custom profiles).
Hopefully I don't buy another keyboard anytime soon, after the Durgod 🥺

I recently paid the Razer tax for this board just because the switches felt amazing to me. I also tried their TKL with the Razer Optical Reds and it seemed much louder, not as nice as the mini. Bummer for me because TKL is my preferred layout, I am missing the dedicated F-row, end/home, and delete keys. I wonder how Cherry MX silent reds compare to normal Cherry MX Reds because Cherry MX Reds are miles behind the Razer Optical Red in my opinion. Razers are noticeably smoother and feel is just nicer overall.
Agreed the stabs are noisy. That's my only complaint from a feel/sound perspective. I do think it's expensive at $130. Give me a board with linears that feel this smooth, and is quiet with better stabs on the larger keys and I'll bite. My only switch experience is typing on the same board loaded with MX Browns for over 10 years, and two Corsair boards with MX Reds that I use occasionally and really don't think the MX Red is a good switch.

I’ve got this keyboard and honestly I love it but I got it after my glorious gmmk and I agree with the fact that it’s light weight makes it feel cheap but I personally love the switches more than my old keyboard

The "B" cap and Windows key being a different key cap, different font, and brighter than the rest of the board drives me nuts. I am returning it. It is a problem on every single Huntsman Mini. Except the reviewer ones that had the custom space bar and the picture on the product box. Horrible quality control.
I bought it and returnted it after 1 day, shit keyboard and feels cheap, now i have blackwidow and i LOVE it

It really comes to do you want super fast response time? Go with the huntsman mini, but for feel it’s the anne pro or ducky one 2 mini or something else similar to the two. Personally I play games with fast reaction timed events so the razor is meant for my play style

Which 60% keyboard is best for gaming?
@@hannes.1787 Preference is the key. It would be unfair to nominate one single keyboard as the best. If some have heavy fingers and like tactile feedback a heavy tactile switch TKL keyboard might be best FOR THEM. But I'd say light linear switches are more optimal for gaming IN THEORY than say, heavy tactile at least. Brands like Ducky, Leopold, Durgod etc are known for having good keyboard builds. But I'd say a custom keyboard is obviously the best keyboard for anyone, since they can fully design it to suit themselves, not all consumers. So you should focus on getting a good build and finding out what switches are optimal for you, there's more to switches than just a few numbers about actuation and weight.

i have 2 huntsman elites, and i used the purple switches for awhile and the were alright and i liked them, but the second i touched one with red switches i couldnt go back they were that much better in my opinion

Man, I got the razer huntsman mini clicky and the durgod Venus with box jades. No contest in every way. The durgod is a beast! I love the jades with them thick clicks and durgod knows how to make solid boards with the best factory stabs.
Poor build and overpriced. For those money you can get a hotswappable kit, switches and keycaps and build a much better keyboard

Keep up the great review content! I absolutely love my huntsman mini with the linear reds but the only thing I have to compare it to is a generic keyboard that had gateron reds. I have small hands and thin wrists so the less force the better. I'm kind of biased though because all my pc gaming accessories are Razer products. Good warranty as well. Nice to see Razer doing that.

Objectively, not worth the $130 since the One 2 Mini and many "non-mainstream" boards around the price range offer better build quality. Subjectively, however, I think these razer boards just beat out all the other mainstream ones from Steelseries, CoolerMaster, and especially Logitech. I say this mostly due to the usb-c and pbt keycaps, but if the mainstream brands aren't required then yea Ducky, Varmilo, Leopold, etc win out (Speaking of which, Leopolds are something you would probably like to check out)
Yeah I just scooped up my first Leopoldo, very solid. I have been hooked on Varmilo lately. I would put the apex pro/7 against razer boards though, they just need better caps.
Build quality is great and all but chattering is a fat yikes. On all the board you mentioned have been known to chatter. Except for the razer huntsman mini because of its optical switches. Unless you’re getting a Leopold with topre switches, it will chatter. I mainly play games so topre switches would be a horrible idea for me.
The Techne yep absolutely, the apex series has much better build quality than the huntsman line up, same actually goes for the g pro x, if those two companies started using pbt doubleshots instead of lasered abs, razer would just be cancelled lol
