Fun fact: you CAN get a full auto sub machine gun from a gun shop as they are not illegal in this country and never have been. You just need to pay a 200 dollar tax stamp and pass an even more stringent background check
The first two resident evil movies are a great summary of entertainment in the early 2000s; nostalgic to everyone growing up in that time but completely flawed, and now that we're older we KNOW it was bad but we still kinda love it lol
This movie is a guilty pleasure for me and yeah I'm fully aware of the movie's flaws and no I can't defend it other than this movie introducing me to one of my all time favorite metal bands. Killswitch Engaged with one of their best songs End of A Heartache that played on the credits of the movie! Yeah I wished Spotify and UA-cam were a thing back then because...I hated majority of everything on the damn radio as a kid. But even Nemesis having a human side wasn't the first time. Fun fact: the Manuaha (China's comic) version of re3 gave Nemesis a human past and fought G-Virus William Birkin.
That's a performance into itself that you made the movie much more appealing that I ever remembered it to be. You almost made me want to watch it again. I also didn't remember how dirty the journalist was done in the school, they really never were her friends. Anyway that was a wonderfully entertaining review, thank you so much !
It's not even like she deserved it either. It was just a grim reminder that there had been children in this zombie Outbreak, and they probably died terrified and in agony, but then back to the fun as if that fact doesn't loom over us.
And this starts the trend of the resident evil movies either making the villains the worst type of heroes they can possibly be or the dumbest villains that you ever known. Like the thing that always hurt my soul was the fact that they made the Ashford founder a sympathetic dad. Hell even making Jill's hair black so she won't take the focus off of Mila 😫
Always a guilty pleasure of mine. I just wish we got a longer sequence of the police and swat teams holding the center of town before they got overrun.
More accurate to the game seeing the police, Swat, and UBCS battling the zombie hordes only to get overrun. Completely cut from the awful 2020 game remake. Lame...
11:02 my thought on the zombies coming up from the ground of the graveyard, is that the ACTUAL zombie apocalypse was really happening at the exact same time as the T-virus outbreak perhaps? how else could these corpses who have been dead for years if not centuries break out of the airtight covens, 6 feet under ground to attack? also in these movies- umbrella doesnt follow their own continuity from film to film and doing things that either contradicts OR changes what they WERE tryin to do from the last movie. in the end, Umbrella's own enemy in these films is Umbrella themselves- watched Porteous' review of these, now cant wait for Decker's take! keep up awesome job
I think this was my favourite between the first two movies. Zombie action fun and a direct continuation from the previous film. Way more consistent than the following sequels. Nothing felt planned out about them, especially in regards to the cliffhanger endings which didn't have much bearing on the next installments. And I do wish that they didn't make Alice so super-perfect. The first film had her be a competent survivor, which worked, and here is kind of the start of "Alice is the ultimate badass". It takes away from the other characters and I feel does Mila Jovavich a disservice too - she is cool and can be badass, but it means nothing because she's the only one allowed to be badass.
Honestly these two movie are the only ones I can stand, for very different reasons. The first was great as a stand-alone zombie movie, and this one is great for how much it got right (though that because at the time, every other video game movie sucked. Now we've seen the animated movies and the sonic and mario movies, so we know it could of been better) Plus I think most Resi fans agree that the heart of Resident Evil is Racoon City. It's where most of the spinoffs are set, and where my favourite games are set (Resident Evil 2, 3, 2 remake, and Outbreak) so it was nice to see the city in a movie, even if it was kind of a shitty copy of the city.
This was the franchise that taught me about “cherry picking” and deciding to deal with what I thought was feasible for my interests. Because the first two were always my favorite growing up as a kid, now seeing them as lesser character adaptations but solid game to film productions. Understanding the atmosphere of Resident Evil but losing character adaptation in the casting with Milla. Extinction was where I started to draw the line, even back then. Because it started to really lose adaptability with the Earth drying up (???), as the wasteland was never apart of RE’s aesthetic. While Afterlife was where the atmosphere and ambience was completely abandoned to cater to action. The first two films had brilliantly used the settings to ground the characters in the story, while the later just seemed to become literal backdrops. Retribution became unbearable overtime, even though it tried to recapture the old aesthetic and invent newer scenarios with the testing facility. The characters like Ada, Leon, Wesker, and Barry just felt like caricatures of themselves compared to Alice carrying them all along. And Last Chapter? Even with the return to Raccoon City and Umbrella’s juicy presence. The world was so bogged down with nonsense, and awful editing. It’s actually unwatchable beyond UA-cam.
6:47 Which as reviewer Deusdeacon in his review pointed out makes zero sense. Umbrella has all the soldiers, all the resources and the Anti-Virus yet one single bite is all it takes for them to turn tail and run. Pretty pathetic.
This movie was ok, like the first it was passable, though by bringing in characters and making them in name only characters and having them take s backseat to Andersons OC self insert wife was a tough pill to swallow. But this movie is also the last one to have any kind of subtly or be grounded in reality in anyway. From this point going further Alice is essentially that kid on the playground who gives themselves every power you can think of and says “nu uh that didn’t work” when they got hit by something.
Yup, after this Alice ruins the franchise, I mean I like the homage they pay to certain points but it's all done so bad, except for 3 when Alice does claires drop shot, you see why Alice ruins this franchise even without the bs powers she gets lol
@@wednesdaygeckok.7899 still I remember Phelan porteous spending almost a decade reviewing these and outright hating them elvis the alien at least acknowledged the first 3 as decent films of varying genres. @@wednesdaygeckok.7899 Honestly I get enjoying these two alone. Every movie after this one, retcons the ending of the previous movie to such a point that it becomes infuriating. Like this one kind of excuses it with the book (that nobody has read or heard of) explaining that the lil girl was killed and Alice escaped control, (though that's important shit they shouldn't of skipped in the movie) but it gets ridiculous after this movie. [RE: Extinction Ending] Alice gets a shit ton of clones, and her psychic powers are OP [RE: Afterlife Intro] All Alice's clones are dead, and she lost all her psychic powers within the first 5 minutes. RE: Afterlife Ending] Alice, Chris, Claire, and K-mart have a safe zone, and plan to bring survivors to Arcadia to survive [RE: Retribution Intro] Chris, and K-mart are never seen again, Claire disappears till the end of the next movie. Alice is captured and made to star in the Dawn of the Dead remake. [RE: Retribution Ending] Alice gets her psychic powers back, and teams up with Re5 Jill Valentine, Ada Wong, Albert Wesker, and Leon S. motherfucking Kennedy, to save the world. It's gonna be epic. [RE: The Last Chapter starts] Alice doesn't have her powers now, Leon, Jill and Ada are never mentioned again, (the movie doesn't even care enough to say if they died or not, Alice just forgets they ever existed) the epic fight is over, and the mother of all retcons trigger happy movies is about to begin.

I see comedian Lewis Black reading another one of my rants a day after posting 3 themes of a character from the video game Bio Freaks (a year later after a he read one of my rants shortly after posting 3 other character themes from the same exact game), which was a rant about chicken tenders not being sold by certain fast food chains, to ordering chicken strips from Popeyes via DoorDash, and while wearing my Dr Pepper t-shirt with a long red sleeve shirt underneath due to being inside since it's too hot out, I see Decker Shado also wearing a Dr Pepper t-shirt. talk about coincidenception!
Jill's actress doing everything in her power to mimic the animations and tone from the game down to actually playing it and studying it for this Raccoon City fire of a movie is something of a travesty. Always felt bad for her putting that much effort while almost everything else felt phoned in.
This movie solidified that I would not enjoy this franchise The first movie was disappointing to me because it had very little to do with the game, at the time it was my favorite franchise and the remake of the original was my favorite game of all time This one I thought could steer it in the right direction since it was going to start taking elements from the games, but instead of doing them justice I thought it did them a great disservice The actress who plays Jill Valentine was good and that's about the only thing I like about this film, otherwise it's just even more ridiculous over the top action centered around Alice. Nemesis being some kind of Terminator who ends up having a heart and a conscious at the end just made me leave the movie theater mad as hell, I've never seen any of the others past this one
@@Chelaxim Yeah I didn't specify either that I didn't dislike the first film, I just found it disappointing and kind of bizarre. 21:05 Can someone explain the "past tense" thing? I remembered everything...? Is that it? "I remember everything" makes it a fact. I'm learning English, if someone could explain it, please.
i for one hate that they bothered to insert character from the games just for name recognition while changing the overal game story so much Jill wasn't Jill anymore, just a hardboiled cop fleeing to the city limits, i mean you easily replace the names of Jill, Carlos and the rest of the game character and nothing changes in the overall story if you wanna go your own way with an established franchise you can work in some nods to the games like some shots were literally shot for shot remakes of ingame cgi sequences but dragging in randomly some game characters just for brand recognition while completely retcon their ingame history is imo the wrong way to speak to the fans (not to mention even though i liked that shots recreating the RE code veronica sequence regarding the hellicopter and stuff but replacing Claire in there for Alice still is wrong) also knowing that ingame wesker had superhuman capabilities due to his own injection with the t-stuff it makes some sense in universe that alice gained some powers but as the movie series goes on the overall story of the movies makes less and less sense since the movies rely heavily on some events have to have taken place while others are simply reconned because alice had to be the star int he story ... so yeah i am still pissed of the RE movie franchise and the decision the makers did, cool visuals aside thewhole stuff feels like a bad fever dream fanfic scenario minus the fan, its more a cashgrab off of a game series

Right person, doing the review justice. Only wish there were a couple more films, as this, and his review of the first film have been a fun ride. And the perfect distraction for my 2nd night of some pretty bad phantom limb.
Fun fact: you CAN get a full auto sub machine gun from a gun shop as they are not illegal in this country and never have been. You just need to pay a 200 dollar tax stamp and pass an even more stringent background check
16:55 is so much funnier after watching the 3rd movie and LJ literally keeps a bite concealed while with a group 😂😂
Which gets Carlos killed after LJ turns.
2:01 The funniest thing about all the intros is Alice saying she'll take down Umbrella then they end with her still not having done that.
"... In the sequel."
The first two resident evil movies are a great summary of entertainment in the early 2000s; nostalgic to everyone growing up in that time but completely flawed, and now that we're older we KNOW it was bad but we still kinda love it lol
0:21 Nice to see Decker take his dogo to the beach.
Someone on the beach where Decker is recording.
"I wonder why Werid AL is screaming at his camera"
That's a performance into itself that you made the movie much more appealing that I ever remembered it to be. You almost made me want to watch it again. I also didn't remember how dirty the journalist was done in the school, they really never were her friends. Anyway that was a wonderfully entertaining review, thank you so much !
Kinda miss you doing these videos sitting on your couch.
Mila has never before or since looked this gorgeous.
The reporter being eaten alive by the children was probably the most horrifying part of the movie, to me.
Lame...
Do you work out Decker? Because you looked more bulky in that beach clip. If so, keep it up, man. You're looking great.
IM SURE YOU KNOW WE ALL NEEDED SOME SHADO THIS EVE. thanks for all you do sir
Literally the closest film to relate to the games out of the series
Since STARS is cribbed from GI Joe, they can use Nemesis from Transformers. Nobody would have thought Star Trek.
Now we've seen the animated movies and the sonic and mario movies, so we know it could of been better)
Plus I think most Resi fans agree that the heart of Resident Evil is Racoon City.
Yup, after this Alice ruins the franchise, I mean I like the homage they pay to certain points but it's all done so bad, except for 3 when Alice does claires drop shot, you see why Alice ruins this franchise even without the bs powers she gets lol
frankly im glad you're being more fair to this series of films than most people tend to be
Let's wait until he gets to the next one before we think that lol
People either like the first 2, none of them, or all of them from my experience
@@wednesdaygeckok.7899 still I remember Phelan porteous spending almost a decade reviewing these and outright hating them elvis the alien at least acknowledged the first 3 as decent films of varying genres. And the rest as off the walls so bad they're good especially since 3 really screwed the continuity and setting up big time
@@wednesdaygeckok.7899 Honestly I get enjoying these two alone.
[RE: Extinction Ending]
Alice gets a shit ton of clones, and her psychic powers are OP
[RE: Afterlife Intro]
All Alice's clones are dead, and she lost all her psychic powers within the first 5 minutes.
RE: Afterlife Ending]
Alice, Chris, Claire, and K-mart have a safe zone, and plan to bring survivors to Arcadia to survive
[RE: Retribution Intro]
Chris, and K-mart are never seen again, Claire disappears till the end of the next movie. Alice is captured and made to star in the Dawn of the Dead remake.
[RE: Retribution Ending]
Alice gets her psychic powers back, and teams up with Re5 Jill Valentine, Ada Wong, Albert Wesker, and Leon S. motherfucking Kennedy, to save the world. It's gonna be epic.
[RE: The Last Chapter starts]
Alice doesn't have her powers now, Leon, Jill and Ada are never mentioned again, (the movie doesn't even care enough to say if they died or not, Alice just forgets they ever existed) the epic fight is over, and the mother of all retcons trigger happy movies is about to begin.
@@Trojianmaru Jill gets psychic powers. lmao
I'd rather see that movie.
@@EternalStorm796 😅 thanks for pointing that out, clearly I was thinking of the movie I would much rather of seen. Though she did get T-virus powers that made her super strong, super agile, and super blonde.
I get really nostalgic when I look back at my time being an extra in this flick when they filmed everything in T.O.
13:03 wow mila is just free nipping it
awwww good doggy. Glad to see she's out and enjoying the beach
So awesome really you and boots to reboots need more people to see you
these videos are a riot
Dear Sir Shadow.
Your Wastelands have a funny acoustic 😄
I like to think a supernatural zombie apocalypse was just overlapping the T virus zombie outbreak
Yeah, like it was supposed to happen in a few years, but then this outbreak happened first, and the necromancer was like, "Shit, go! Go! Go! They are stealing our thunder!"
Boo Decker your beach bod is putting me to shame. Guess i have no excuses left now.
Great review as always. Thanks for the fun
Thank god yt actually notified me this time. Good job Decker!
Always a good day when you post … fav and only movie reviewer.. keep it up ..
This movie had so much potential to be a legit RE movie if only they actually stuck to the game lure
man this has been one crazy day. I see comedian Lewis Black reading another one of my rants a day after posting 3 themes of a character from the video game Bio Freaks (a year later after a he read one of my rants shortly after posting 3 other character themes from the same exact game), which was a rant about chicken tenders not being sold by certain fast food chains, to ordering chicken strips from Popeyes via DoorDash, and while wearing my Dr Pepper t-shirt with a long red sleeve shirt underneath due to being inside since it's too hot out, I see Decker Shado also wearing a Dr Pepper t-shirt. talk about coincidenception!
oh heck yes, keep 'em coming!!
Just gotta say....looking real good brother! Good on you!
Jill's actress doing everything in her power to mimic the animations and tone from the game down to actually playing it and studying it for this Raccoon City fire of a movie is something of a travesty. Always felt bad for her putting that much effort while almost everything else felt phoned in.
This movie solidified that I would not enjoy this franchise
The first movie was disappointing to me because it had very little to do with the game, at the time it was my favorite franchise and the remake of the original was my favorite game of all time
This one I thought could steer it in the right direction since it was going to start taking elements from the games, but instead of doing them justice I thought it did them a great disservice
The actress who plays Jill Valentine was good and that's about the only thing I like about this film, otherwise it's just even more ridiculous over the top action centered around Alice. Nemesis being some kind of Terminator who ends up having a heart and a conscious at the end just made me leave the movie theater mad as hell, I've never seen any of the others past this one
The first movie proved that being faithful doesn't make something less good. It isn't a good movie but it's the best in the series.
@@Chelaxim Yeah I didn't specify either that I didn't dislike the first film, I just found it disappointing and kind of bizarre. It's actually this video series where I first learned that it's just because the film was not written as a Resident Evil film to begin with lol
It's okay for what it is, it just makes sense that the Resident Evil title was tacked onto it
I owned it and I watched it a fair few times because I was hungry for anything Resident Evil, but that's why this film really let me down
I still can't figure out how you are below 200k subscribers. Easily one of the top ten reviewers in UA-cam history.
Always a pleasure to see an upload from Decker Shado. I can't wait until it's just the norm for movie reviews on UA-cam.
He decided to feed the dogs...
You got me Decker. Had me laughing hard enough that my service dog woke up, and walked over the check on me.
Thank you for making a bad night better. Bad phantom limb, pain and itch all day.
Great landscape you got there Decker 😎 hope you have a good summer !
I was lucky enough to see the nemesis costume on display at the London IMAX theatre
Really enjoying the Summer of Mila Jovovich. I was wondering if you were gonna review Monster Hunter and/or Joan of Arc?
Your dedication and editing skills make me so proud to be subscribed to your wonderful, awesome channel
Absolutely loving these series of videos great content for the children 👌👌
You're the only content creator like this that I 100% always enjoy. You just never miss man. Plus that hair......
Mika Jokavich really lost it in two years. She looked so good in the first movie and turned into the Mila Jokavich in every single movie since then.
Can we just address Decker looking in solid shape in that intro. the hair flailing in the wind. God DAYUMMM sir.
Your videos don't come out fast enough Q.Q.
Love you always excited to watch one of your videos. The reason Cain could have given to Dr. Ashford was that "I needed to test The Nemesis program and saw that you were leading Alice to a location so they can also send Nemsis there too" it's not much and it would have explaind why he would have let him keep telling alice and the gang where to go. Plot holes man :/
Been following you for a while now. Just wanted to say thanks for your quality content.
Hey man, haven’t watched your vids for a little and I’m binging to catch up. Just gotta say that you look great man!
Enjoyed this review Deck! Keep ‘em coming sir!
I heard The Meg 2 is coming out soon, Decker and his explanations of sharksploitation movies has me giddy, hopefully he’ll tackle that when it’s out- I mean he was standing on a beach 😂
19:05 she is Mila Jovovich/Alice. You could bisect her. Drop one half into a volcano. Punt the other half into a black hole. And she would still be able to regrow her body and kill you before you have a chance to turn around
I'm not a huge fan of the movies but i'll watch Decker review anything. Keep it up man!
A good review and a very valuable lesson about friendship at the end as well!
Woooo RE Apocalypse: This was my fav version of Resident Evil film adaptation as it was an interesting interpretation of RE 3 as it was pretty cool how Nemsis was created and portrayed till RE3 remake explained his true creation process. Thanks again Shado Decker for going over my fav film series 😁
10:48 hahahahahaa!! That caught me off guard!
Your videos get better and better, Decker! Your reviews are always spot on, but you know exactly where to put in the "Like & Subscribe" appeal and how to make it seamless. Nice work!
Love your content. Stay well. Your reviews are always a great binge to distract from depression/anxiety.
Decker, your reviews are great. I love the comedy you bring to the reviews. I hope many good things come your way!
I wanted to wait till you review all of them before watching but couldn’t resist. I grew up loving the first one, I’m actually a fan of the film franchise more than the video games. Which is a take that would get me lynched by the game fanbase. My favourites are 3 then 2 then 1, the rest after 3 are duds so I rank them all equally bad. But he first 3 are G O L D E N.
The summer of what? I can never understand what he says cuz of the voice modifications
lol the dog running along with Decker is so cute
Hilarious review Decker, your videos always entertain.
*nods* Lookin' pretty jacked there Mamoa!!
I don’t know if it’s a fair trade but not having the end text, at least we have a new way of introducing a call of action in each video. Cheers Decker
Keep these up Decker!
the buoldimg she runs down is in Toronto Ontario, pretty sure it is City Jall.
AND THEY MUST RUN one of my favorite Decker quotes
Just love this channel and the resident evil franchise ❤
Commenting for the algorithm 🤘keep it up brother
Great video as usual, Decker!
Stay weird
Stay awesome.
Much love, bro
21:05 Can someone explain the "past tense" thing? I remembered everything...? Is that it? "I remember everything" makes it a fact. I'm learning English, if someone could explain it, please.
I’m always surprised they always are able to print out papers about an apocalypse. Wen said apocalypse is legit happening out side the door.
Hey hey now, that’s the power of the press! Never miss a chance to print a good story.
Then X Men Apocalypse said, hoid my beer.
Hope you guys had fun in the beach.
How much do i have to pay for you to review of Death Valley: Revenge of Bloody Bill or Jolly Roger: Massacre At Cutter's Cove
Another great video
Oh, come on! Look at Nemesis, look at that beautiful, heart warming smile. What else could he be than a genuinely good guy. 🙂
i for one hate that they bothered to insert character from the games just for name recognition while changing the overal game story so much Jill wasn't Jill anymore, just a hardboiled cop fleeing to the city limits, i mean you easily replace the names of Jill, Carlos and the rest of the game character and nothing changes in the overall story
if you wanna go your own way with an established franchise you can work in some nods to the games like some shots were literally shot for shot remakes of ingame cgi sequences but dragging in randomly some game characters just for brand recognition while completely retcon their ingame history is imo the wrong way to speak to the fans (not to mention even though i liked that shots recreating the RE code veronica sequence regarding the hellicopter and stuff but replacing Claire in there for Alice still is wrong)
also knowing that ingame wesker had superhuman capabilities due to his own injection with the t-stuff it makes some sense in universe that alice gained some powers but as the movie series goes on the overall story of the movies makes less and less sense since the movies rely heavily on some events have to have taken place while others are simply reconned because alice had to be the star int he story ... so yeah i am still pissed of the RE movie franchise and the decision the makers did, cool visuals aside thewhole stuff feels like a bad fever dream fanfic scenario minus the fan, its more a cashgrab off of a game series
Not just good hair, but that is a beach body many would envy. Concerning the movie, this was one with at least a string of memorable scenes and effects.
“Hey Payton Couldn’t Help But Notice That Limp.. 🔫” 😂😂😂
Noticed the CN tower when the car gets hit.
And last time Alice's recap will make sense or match up with the movie(s) it is recapping. Unironically it is also the first recap in the series. Things get messy real quick after that.
@Decker Shado Hey there sweet. So I'm REALLY big on voices so I could be wrong to me the man that gave Alice the T virus sounded like the little girls father but It shows the British man in the flashback . . So are we sure the girls FATHER didnt give Alice the virus in secret!?! 😱🧐
