One thing I DO like about this movie is that the general populace doesn't have goldfish memory like they do in most other series that try the "hero is now evil" thing. When the news goes, "Robocop is now evil!" pretty much everyone's response is, "Do you think we're stupid?"
21:36 that has to be the most unbelievable part of the movie. Cyborg humans running around is one thing but a news reporter actually having a conscience and not being able to repeat the lies fed to them is just unbelievable
I liked the core idea of the story, uprooting people from their homes and the part where the cops join the fight. If only the execution was better and samurai bots weren't wasted, Rip Torn's over the top energy was toned down (should have made Johnson the CEO), and maybe play up Bill Dauterive double crossing the gang.
If you want to see this story better executed, you should read "Robocop: The Last Stand" by Frank Miller which was actually the original script re-adapted into a comic book. The story was much more darker. The Rehab-Team were originally in Miller's Robocop 2 script, and had a stronger presence in that story than Miller's Robocop 3 script. But the hand gun was also a chain gun rather than an all-in-one machine gun, flamethrower, rocket launcher. The jetpack was also in Miller's script as well and there are many characters that had their roles switched around in the movie. Dr. Lazarus is Lacesse in the comic, and is more like the child, Nikko from the movie, but wasn't a 12-year-old girl but was much older and a badass in a leather jacket and is more of a emotional wreck. She would've had an emotional connection with Alex Murphy, is extremely intelligent and is the one assisting and repairing him throughout and I believed she reprogrammed herself as a hologram. Also, during the finale where the cops are at war with the Rehab-Team, they bring in RoboCain as their weapon along with Ed-209 side-by-side.
+Decker Shado One small error. The four 90-minute episodes were a mini-series that was closer to the movies. The actual TV show had one season and 22 episodes. In fact, one of the episodes had a They Live feel and featured the late Roddy Piper.
A bit o trivia for you. The Robocop suit in this movie is the same one that was designed for Peter Weller for the first two movies, they didn't make a new suit for the new actor for budget reasons, it was not designed for anyone else to wear except Weller and it caused Robert John Burke so much pain to movie in the suit that the "cool martial arts scenes" planned for Robocop 3 couldn't be filmed. This is also the reason why Robocop wasn't in much of his own movie.
Man, I have all the nostalgia for RoboCop 3. This used to be my favourite film as a kid, I just remember loving seeing RoboCop drive off the car park and shooting the roof off. This film will always have a special place in my heart.
How the hell would the rebels "take" ED-209? It wouldn't fit into the van and they couldn't disassemble it. Just have the girl walk it to their hideout? Until the first OCP goon with a Cobra gun, sure.

Maybe even she saw the sheer futility of at least some of this movie...or most of it! It's nowheres near the worst movie I've ever seen, though...and I think that people might be a little kinder towards this movie. However:It was, indeed, a flop at the Box Office, so.... there's that. In my opinion, though... it's still kind of fun to watch, so I'll personally give it a 2.5 out of 5.
*I still love all of the Robocop movies, including the remake, because there still hella cool to watch.* Also RoboCain is my favorite villian in the series.
boddicker gotta be my fav. "visiting" someone at their house, telling them bitches to leave, shooting the homeowner in the kneecaps multiple times to insert a CD in the homeowners home cinema system that reveals a deadly message from his college, to only leave a timed grenade on the the table is the fuckest-uppest-sadisdic move in all of movie history tbh.
@@HellBrYnger the message part is good. But I think the scene in the Tomas Jane punisher movie where a guy has one arm crushed under debris and the punisher ties his other arm up with a grenade so when he eventually drops his arm KABOOM
Can't describe this feeling I have. It's like that feeling you get when it goes from storming rain to sunshine in minutes and then you see someone you haven't seen in a long time.
The idea behind the film was interesting, the "old man" replaced by a corporate cook sucker, the japanese technological industry (Kanemitsu Corporation) creating the first fully human-ish AI in mass production. The battle for "Motor City" with the civilian population against the Rehavs and Street Gangs, all of this while the Police Department is trapped in between of two major wars. But then... the Nation of the PG-13's attacked... and not even the Avatar could have saved us...
In the second film Robocop took a direct hit from a 20mm cannon, fell from a building, got caught in a natural gas explosion, and got tossed around by the big villain robot, and was perfectly fine. In this movie he gets taken down by a grenade launcher. What happened to the nearly unstoppable, tank on two legs Robocop from the first two film?
Downgrade people downgrade, hes a obsolete model we don't need to give him top repair , that could explain it since robocop was kinda a pain in theyre asses
Fun fact: This movie was planned to come out in 1993, Sega of America released the game that time, then it took another 2 years for the movie to come out.
Oh god... Those four "Prime Directive" films... I was originally excited when I found out they existed. "More Robocop? Yes!". I didn't realise they'd make the third film look like the first.
The movie that has the most inner conflict doesn’t captilize on it. So Orion hires agent Zed and on the otherwise we have Amanda Waller and the future Medical Examiner. And Mr Jimmy James betrays them all. I’m eating my words now. I thought it was good but it’s poorly done. Next time: Batman’s turn!
Doesn’t Robocop record everything he sees? So he recorded Lewis being murdered by OCP...and bragging about it. I think this wouldn’t go over well with the precinct.
Because of Orion going bust, I played the Amiga/PC game way before we got the chance to see the film. I think even the makers of the game had only the loose plot and a few stills. As such it is a really atmospheric and quite intense FPS/Driving//Beat-em-up/Flight sim. Maybe the first FPS I can remember ever seeing.
Good review as always you think you can do from dusk till dawn? The movie not the tv series Also I haven’t seen your videos for a while now so i didn’t know you were getting married congratulations man. I hope you live happy together forever.
Fun fact. The director of Robocop 3, Fred Dekker, is also the writer of The Predator. Shane Black also makes a cameo as one of the police officers in Robocop 3.
I've never liked this one I think I've watched it 3 or 4 times where the first two I've seen more times than I want to count. Another great review Decker thank you as always man.
If you ask me, 2 and 3 felt like they're nothing but fanfics; just written by two entirely different writers. The Robocop franchise is one of the very few times I'm with the "The first one's great, but the sequels suck!" group.
so right! the pg 13, the lack of a powerful enemy, the little girl, the whole pack of resistance characters.... this is what it took to take this movie down to the sewer. there were some good elements to this movie, but it had no chance against such bad decisions. at least, Lazarus looked pretty good though, hey, that s something positive! good show!!!
well at least they brought back the Robo Cop theme. I feel like the sequel could of been a 4/5 if it had that signature music. And Decker LOVE your reviews..but not giving the original Robocop a 5/5 IS CRIMINAL!!! LOL
I think the fall of this franchise can be summed up in two letters one number. PG13. The first two movies were R. It’s like having a PG version of the terminator.
While I prefer R rated Terminator, the first 3 arent really gory, and have some cursing in them, if they were released today, they most likely would be PG13. Robocop should never have been rated PG13
I do hope you got your fiancee that ice cream. That does sound good. 😉😂 And saw in the credits you mentioned the RoboCop cartoon, was also a live action series too. Dad had a few episodes of that on video tape. And let me close in saying, at least he didn't picture that kid too after his ex wife, that would have gone on a whole new level of creepy. Anyways, thank you, Decker. Loved these reviews.
I never understood how shooting the vehicles isn't defying an ocp officer, shouldn't the dude be like hey shoot her and burn this neighorhood to its foundations and robo couldn't answer anything but a yes sir without glitching out like windows 8
I only remembered bits from this movie, I watched it a few times I think, about 20 years ago and I was still a kid. I decided to watch it again after seeing the first two. I didn't particularly liked it. It got entertaining after we FINALLY see Robocop, but I feel it dragged whenever he wasn't in a scene. I still am bummed that Peter Weller didn't reprise his role, but after seeing this crap I don't blame him. Even though Lewis' death was dumb, it still took me by surprise, I didn't even remember she died, so I actually teared up, but that's because I'm an oversensitive fool, I still think it was all pretty stupid. I figured Nancy Allen wanted to get out of the movie so that's why they killed her character off, and it turns out I was right! (at least according to a comment). Even though I didn't think the second movie was good, at least it was closer to the essence of the original. I know the first one isn't perfect and it is oozing with that good ole 80's cheese, but it had something to say and it was well executed. The other two were clearly cash grabs, just like it happened to The Matrix. Totally awesome first movie, mediocre-at-best-sequels.
I actually like this one more than 2. Police chief was inspiring to me as a kid and when Robocop jetpacks over the battle to the theme music I rewound it over and over. Even as a kid though I noticed the same critics you listed.
This movie has the feel of a made for TV movie. The tone of the original is completely gone. The second didn't really have the intelligent satire. But it retained the tone with the ridiculous levels of violence.
I know it's got problems; But the town partnering up with the police that have honor and stand down when Omni Consumer Products have forced them to evict innocent people. I have a guilty pleasure with this film.
I had been waiting for this review since you did the original. 3 sucks but at least it gave us RoboCop giving chase to the villain in a pimpmobile. That's worth something in my book.
Oh. My. God. I can't believe it never occurred to me until you pointed it out. Can you imagine if the rebels had kept the E.D. 209? And had Robo-Cop?! Robo and E.D. take on android ninjas in the ULTIMATE buddy cop flick!!
Fun Fact: This Movie was directed and written by the same guy who co-wrote The Predator (2018), Fred Dekker. Yeah, no wonder that The Predator (2018) sucked so hard!
Really? Now I know why I couldn't even get past the first 20 minutes (I'm talking about The Predator 2018), and I hadn't seen the original yet. I only watched RC3 because it's freaking Robocop, but I wanted to stop watching within the first ten minutes. Yikes.
Can we all agree the Japanese robot face when smiling and when putting his jaw back in place was terrifying as fuck?! XD Also, this wasn't that bad of a movie but I dont support the PG-13 rating

*I still love all of the Robocop movies, including the remake, because there still hella cool to watch.*
Also RoboCain is my favorite villian in the series.
Agreed🤗👍🏻
boddicker gotta be my fav.
@@HellBrYnger agreed. We all love to hate him
@@HellBrYnger the message part is good. But I think the scene in the Tomas Jane punisher movie where a guy has one arm crushed under debris and the punisher ties his other arm up with a grenade so when he eventually drops his arm KABOOM
@@brytonup1551which itself is a homage to Mad Max when he leaves Johnny the Boy to hack through his ankle/chain in the cuffs before the car explodes
But then... the Nation of the PG-13's attacked... and not even the Avatar could have saved us...
oh no
Ahhhh. those, *cook suckers* .
Not to mention it took only two or three out of shape middle aged men to carry him.
Downgrade people downgrade, hes a obsolete model we don't need to give him top repair , that could explain it since robocop was kinda a pain in theyre asses
The Final Line of the move: "Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto"
Fun fact: This movie was planned to come out in 1993, Sega of America released the game that time, then it took another 2 years for the movie to come out.
Yes, I remember seeing the Robocop video game at Blockbuster as a kid, and there still was no Robocop 3 movie!
Oddly enough, Robocop 3 was the movie that introduced me to the franchise. Loved it ever since.
25:13 that reminds me of...
*EVIL* *RYAN* *HIGA*
15:37 I find something about this part really unsettling. Most horror films don't make me as uncomfortable as this.
Remember when RoboCop was a satirical take on action movies and corporate culture
Time shows... ff7 remake is even faster than Delta City... 🤣
19:30 The lengths that some men will go to over a stapler.
So what is next? The two animated series? The Live action 1994 series? The Sci FY Channel films? The remake?
Oh god... Those four "Prime Directive" films... I was originally excited when I found out they existed. "More Robocop? Yes!". I didn't realise they'd make the third film look like the first.
@@Banedracul1 they feel like RoboCop 3's son's. Goofy, cheesy and over the top with reality far from grasp
And now on to the... awful, awful remake where Murphy was overacting so hard, it made Shao Khan's acting in MK Annihilation look subtle.
No, Shao Khan's actor is still worse
Your soul is mine !!!
I really want to see Decker review the Scream franchise
Idk if the engagement happened recently but congratulations!
Dude yes, saved my year. What began as a bad year has been saved. Thanks for doing what you love and making thousands laugh and be entertained.
Wondered how long before you go around to this. you weren't wrong about Cybercember going well passed December.
If Decker managed to stick to his initial planned schedule it wouldn't be a proper Decker Shado themed season or month:)
Ive often wondered what CCH Pounders actual name is... Thanks Decker.
"Hilaria" She could have been a comedienne!
18:25 Come on, that was a perfect time to bring back the Dancing Michael Myers considering UA-cam took down your video of Halloween 6.
Let's face it, we've all fast forwarded to the jetpack scene. Still so damn awesome! :)
I love the fact, that Decker have beter triger discipline with ASG, than mos movie characters :)
22:13 that guy trying to put on a helmet when he has a 12 inch mowhawk wtf lol
At 16:10 I really was expecting the Doctor Who theme to kick in.
Man robocop 3 was my the first robocop film I saw then I saw the first one then the second one
Can you Review Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom?
@The Ex UA-camXL personally I like JP3 more than any other JP movies spino first hybrid
I just wanna hear Blue say "Cwiss Pwatt" again.
@The Ex UA-camXL No it's really not
@The Ex UA-camXL I wanted to like it. And just like Last Jedi I walked out hating it.
@schwoogie78 top that one
Good review as always you think you can do from dusk till dawn? The movie not the tv series
Also I haven’t seen your videos for a while now so i didn’t know you were getting married congratulations man. I hope you live happy together forever.
Fun fact. The director of Robocop 3, Fred Dekker, is also the writer of The Predator. Shane Black also makes a cameo as one of the police officers in Robocop 3.
Happy new year Decker.Good to see you alive and well in 2019.
I've never liked this one I think I've watched it 3 or 4 times where the first two I've seen more times than I want to count. Another great review Decker thank you as always man.
Something I noticed: Robocop 2 and 3 appear to use different parts/halves of Frank Miller's Robocop 2 script.
Only Decker can cheer me up after Ex problems.
If you ask me, 2 and 3 felt like they're nothing but fanfics; just written by two entirely different writers. The Robocop franchise is one of the very few times I'm with the "The first one's great, but the sequels suck!" group.
I 100% agree. Even if the second one had potential and some good ideas, there was no need for sequels, just like The Matrix.
Naked, Sexy and driving on the left side of the road. Sounds like a Japanese Nissan ad in 1994. lol
I always gonna have a soft spot for this movie because it's the first I saw at the movies
Damn it decker, it's 2:08am here. Ah what the heck I'm on vacation. Time to watch.
so right!
the pg 13, the lack of a powerful enemy, the little girl, the whole pack of resistance characters....
this is what it took to take this movie down to the sewer.
there were some good elements to this movie, but it had no chance against such bad decisions.
at least, Lazarus looked pretty good though, hey, that s something positive!
good show!!!
I feel so lost without having a bunch of comments to read.
well at least they brought back the Robo Cop theme.
It’s like having a PG version of the terminator.
what crazy person would ever make a pg13 terminator?
So Salvation and Genisys
While I prefer R rated Terminator, the first 3 arent really gory, and have some cursing in them, if they were released today, they most likely would be PG13. Robocop should never have been rated PG13
thank you brother! love your reviews
22:12 you 'll notice the guy who looks like he walked out of a Blink 182 video.
Rip Torn's mustache is diabolical
Did anyone else notice that Otomo-san sounds kinda like automaton?
I want this guy to never change
So we'll see Delta City this year? :D
1:10. Always reminded me of how the first episode of Power Rangers Time Force opened.
So, one more Robocop left. How much longer before we get to see you review Critters XD
Mentions of a Cyberbog Ninja and no Metal Gear reference? Shame.
This ones not really a cyborg
Another great video Decker! Highly enjoyed your trilogy review!
Obviously, this movie was just to sell toys. A PG-13 rating helps even more with that.
"An evil Ryan Higa" lmao 😂. Keep up the awesome reviews. Review The Pest or Cool World!
Although that scene where the guy robs a diner full of cops is legit funny
Growing up i always thought whoopi was in this movie
So weird seeing Jill Hennessy in something other than early 90s Law and Order after binging on that earlier this year. Cheers!
What, no "Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto" ?
I still think he dropped the ball not using "Bitches, leave." as the stinger line in the Robocop review...
I had been waiting for this review since you did the original. 3 sucks but at least it gave us RoboCop giving chase to the villain in a pimpmobile. That's worth something in my book.
1:37 - Ohhhh, we all hope so, Decker, we all hope so.
Oh. My. God. I can't believe it never occurred to me until you pointed it out. Can you imagine if the rebels had kept the E.D. 209? And had Robo-Cop?! Robo and E.D. take on android ninjas in the ULTIMATE buddy cop flick!!
Robo could ride him like Battle Cat!
@@Mike28625 Yeah!
16:19 Ok now it’s turning into Michael Jackson’s Black Or White music video.
I've been looking forward to this one since I saw your Robocop 1 review.
Yikes.
Funny fact this movie haves two actors who played in the movie dodgeball
I like how you are wearing an aperature shirt while talking about a robocop movie.
Would you consider doing Dark Dungeons by Zombie Orpheus?
Can we all agree the Japanese robot face when smiling and when putting his jaw back in place was terrifying as fuck?! XD
Also, this wasn't that bad of a movie but I dont support the PG-13 rating
yes
it reminded me of
FREDDY KRUEGER
smirking
Thought this was blocked by mgm?
At 11:47, it looks like The Clock Tower from Back to the Future, LOL.
