So far I actually like this dynamic more than Dream and Tommy, two evil people interacting and getting into each other’s head since they are both smart people is going to be so interesting. And we get to learn more about Dreams and Sams thoughts they are definitely two of my favorite characters since they are so interesting. But I definitely think Sam will be the one to break first since Dream is good at manipulating and Sams already desperate for Dream to stay and talk with him.
Smart is a strong word for the former warden. C!Sam is already in a bad place, and it has only been a day. He literally has to write down that he is not stupid.
Everything we’ve seen in Sam’s character indicates he’s not dumb. He’s not necessarily politically intelligent like dream, but he’s cold and logical as well as extremely talented with redstone. He’s able to justify each of his motives to other people, from dream to bbh and antfrost. Even tho we hate him for it, it’s pretty obvious that when bbh and ant confront him that he’s consistently out-arguing them even while defending a seemingly indefensible case. His only major tactical mistake was using ranboo as a hostage, but even then he had a coherent reason, and anyway by then he was so stooped in paranoia his mental fortitude was degrading. Sam is a very skilled, rational, and smart character, just not skilled at manipulation like dream., so the two intellects have a great vibe together (also could destroy the universe on the same side).

I think this is an example of dream trying to learn how Sam's mind works and what Sam thinks of his clearly wrong actions and I also think this is dream trying to justify his actions by saying "a wrong for the right reason is justifiable" 11:07 he keeps asking "right..?" as in asking for justification that what he is doing is wrong but is also right because he has his "reasons"
Man Dream is literally just playing the same card he did with Tommy. Literally, Sam in the prison is just Tommy in exile to Dream. Dream is doing the “I’m your only friend and nobody cares” again, just like before. Unlike Tommy though, and least Sam can stand his ground a bit better it seems.

I feel like dream is trying to get sam to admit that he is a bad person, and then be like "look you're a bad person, i'm a bad person, no one likes you anymore, but i like you, so why not team up against everyone?"
I think it's hard for Dream to want him as an ally after what he did and after he admits he wanted to kill him, Dream probably wants to break him inside to get information from him
I genuinely love how C!Dream goes back and forth from saying 'I don't think you're a bad person' and 'Yeah you're pretty evil' Like, it fits so well with his gaslighting, just like his first visit when he told C!Sam he didn't have any food but when he got called out on it he changed it to 'I don't have YOUR food'
Well that's just wrong entirely. Dream would have. His whole plan in the first place before being put in the prison was to take the things that people felt attachment to as a means to control them. He would have. He even was planning to keep Tubbo down in that vault just to keep Tommy in check. Dream's character in the whole SMP is a hypocrite.

The fact that Sam failed to mention that ranboo was tubbo’s husband, and that Michael was their child actually made me mad. Like bro I would love to see dreams reaction to that fact. Dream already knows Micheal was ranboos child but he dosent know that he was also tubbo’s child.
The reason I enjoy and love Dream's character so much is that the guy has self respect, he does bad things and doesn't try to justify or excuse himself, he respects himself and who he is the way he is, and doesn't need validation from anyone, the only thing I don't like about him is what he did to Tommy, since I believe that was his most impulsive and emotional-leaded moment. And that's the same reason why despite not liking Tommy's character that much, I respect him, because even when he seems scared and insecure I know that he still has respect for himself and will stand up to those who hurt him, sometimes on his own even. It also explains why I don't like nor respect characters like Sam's or Quackity's. Because they're impulsive volatile cowards with too much pride and no self love that can't grasp a hold on their lives unless they are helped by others or hurt the helpless, they believe they are strong for hurting Techno and Dream when both of them were in no condition to fight, and look were that got them
Exactly this. And this is why I miss Quackity's old character so much. He was just a goofball who didn't care what anyone thought. He'd take off his clothes during a dramatic moment because he wanted to, screw everyone else. Now he's just a coward who talks a big game while hurting someone who can't fight back. But the second that guy can fight back Quackity's freaking out over how he's going to protect himself from the storm that's rightfully headed his way. I miss the brave Quackity.

Well... I'd say that Sam believing that he's a good person after doing all of that makes him stupid... It actually makes Dream worse though, because he KNOWS the things he does is evil, yet continues to do it. It makes him a better villain though (as a character).

From what I see, they will unite together. A lot of months ago, Dream leaked something with both Sam and himself in full netherite armor inside of the courtyard of the prison. It also seems like Dream is trying to manipulate Sam, like he did with Tommy to make him think they they're friends.
