I’ve been doing this for about a year after I got back into shaving after growing a beard. My problem before when loading from the tub and using a variety of brushes was overloading. Occasionally I’d get too much soap in the brush and then get impatient lathering and not get enough water incorporated. Plus, I agree with you that bowl lathering is easier on my face - get the right lather without over scrubbing.
If you experience large bubbles and lather which dissipates too fast, what does this indicate? I usually scoop 1/4 teaspoon from the tub, and spread soap on bottom of bowl “thinly and evenly” . After soaking brush, squeeze out all water, then add from a 10 ml syringe 3 ml of water, swirl soap for a minute or two, add 3 ml more water, repeat, then add final 4 ml water. Should I splay brush in bowl or on face? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated
Great video, very I formative, thanks for recommending this. Being new it's good to see how different people do things. I have the Proraso cup with the handle. I got a badger brush with my kit, and just received a synthetic brush today along with the king C Gillette razor. My kit was from Gentlemen Jon unsure the the razor.
That's awesome. Cups are a little small for my but some people really like them. I like the King C Gillette a lot. Got a few videos on that razor as well
To all viewers out there. Making lather from a shaving soap or cream is a fun part of shaving. It is not art nor science. It's just soap and water guys😁 Experiment with different brushes, creams and water quantities and you'll get there. No need to watch a tutorial on how to create a lather. It's just funny!
Do you always recommend a bowl to build lather even if face lather? With a stirling soap, I just load in the container and make sure my face is well wet and first past make sure to spend extra time to build the lather on my face, by second pass its golden, third is just challenging for me. The order of my 3 passes are WTG, against the grain, then across at the end to get it all bbs. I like this technique though to load water slowly into your lather. Thanks for the vid!
Do any Pucksor hard soaps will work? You can mix and match old soaps? to fit in any mug or cup that you like to use. like Mitchells' Wool Fat? Cut the bar soap up, put in a mug, cover the soap with a small amount of water, microwave for a minute or so? if it foams up, stop ? let cool you just went to congeal' place in the sun, until soap hardens use dry brush more water there cheap and good save your money spend it on your wife don't listen to the shave mafia.try to save people money in these inflationary times wheelchair Larry Merry Christmas

Great video! Thanks for the loading/lathering tips 👍🏾
Just moved over to soap (Stirling) from cream and didn't want to introduce water to my tub and this worked perfectly, thanks!
Definitely prefer slick to overly fluffy. Great video!
Thanks so much!

@@CosmoBarber in a few months I'll up grade lol just need the basics for now, lots of blades to try out.
Thanks man. Do I need 2 different bowls for this to work? I just have a cappuccino cup and a homemade soap I bought down the street.
Hi there, how can you do this precision loading with hard soaps, like Tabac? Thanks

Does anyone know where to get the Spider-Man brush? I want one
Maestro
When I make my lathers that wet, I feel no slickness at all when rubbing them between my fingers.
That Sir is the best way to damage your brush, you don't need to mash it down like that and you being in the trade should know better.
