THIS is why XGames no longer has the appeal for me that it once had. Look how cool and creative this course was! Now we get the same 3 - 4 ramps and maybe a quarterpipe in the same layout each year. I really miss the dirt to dirt stuff, wallrides, boxes, etc. It really made the "use of course" actually mean something and forced people to get creative.
In their defense the venues don’t support these types of course... every year they have it at the collisium it’s insane. 03 was even crazier, everything was huge and super peaked. And indoors doesn’t support the new ramps like the moon booter (super kicker on steriods). It is what it is... freestyle is basically dead and no one but a couple guys are making a real living from it. Gone are the days of making millions like twitch and deegan back in the day... the money has disappeared
Xgames fell off bruddah and the scores don’t reflect how good the runs are. Like when the skateboarder got SECOND PLACE FOR A 1260!?!?!? That’s when you know it’s a joke
Tom Pages? The big difference between Travis Pastrana and most new-age FMXers is that he knows how to ride, he transitions very quickly because he has the skills to go around because, initially, he was just a RACER that did tricks. Same goes for many others like Mike Metzger, Brian Deegan, Tommy Clowers and even Nate Adams. The problem with the likes of Pages, Sheehan, Higashino and many others is that they SUCK at riding a motorbike, they are not good.
@@DanArnets1492 and that's why arenas are empty nowadays. Just a boring course, back and forth... No speed, no style, just tricks. It's okay I guess, but those were the golden days
@@luizspindola - Considering how FMX has evolved, I feel that it should just be 3 competitions nowadays: Best Trick, Best Whip and Speed & Style. FMX sessions haven't been appealing for many years now.
Long live TP199 Just the most entertaining rider from FMX to Sx and his whoop riding at straight rhythm on the Rmzilla And back flips just a massive talent
What if I tell you that small flips are much easier to do? With the ramp being so vertical, it is much easier to throw the bike around. You'll never see a backflip on an almost-flat ramp because then you have to do ALL THE FORCE. The bigger the kick, the easier the flip.
Dan Arnets Watch Andy Bell try to do the low backflip when Nitro Circus was doing their guinness world record breaking episode and see how “easy” it is.
I have a program AI i can restore if you send me the video. You can check my channel. Also we can trade videos if you want i have over 30 FMX movies @@SamoAlex113
You have a better channel for this👍 I uploaded my folder to Cloud, it has Best Trick and Speed+Style also [1.3GB] - mega.nz/folder/EXcgQRhY#3KUhqmChUAlZ4QwgaTPt9w
You just don’t see courses or athletes like this in X Games anymore. The Tony Hawks, Matt Hoffmans, and Travis Pastranas are all gone now. Unfortunately I don’t think X Games will ever have the draw, or the caliber of competitors that it had in the 90’s and early 2000s
Pastrana's comeback was amazing and that double backflip was sick, but I felt so sorry for Sherwood, he did better runs (although he used less the course) than Pastrana. I was so excited to watch Pastrana in FMX again because he's my favourite rider, but maybe Sherwood deserved the gold medal. Pastrana scored higher than Sherwood even without doing the double flip and I think that wasn't fair. Anyway, Sherwood is so young and I'm sure he's going to win some gold medals in the future.
In all seriousness has anyone ever been able to ride a fmx course like pastrana? Or get as many hits in? Especially in the beginning it defiantly help set him apart no one can ride a fmx track like this man
ESPN has the worst marketing for the Xgames ever. Literally cannot sell out a single event anywhere. SLS and Vans pack stadiums and arenas. Yet Disney fails every single Xgames for years now.
They go on how the backflip of a set up jump was a huge deal and now guys pull frontflips during runs no problem it crazy but then again with this man and the creation of the double flips and his wild fucking mind I don't know where we would be
And don't forget the mini-flip he did on the backside of a berm in the AMA supercross race at San Diego. A backflip has a lot to do with angle of the take-off. Longer backflips are harder because the angle is not much. Think about the snowmobile record they want to do in Aspen for the X-games : 46m for a backflip. That's insane!!! The angle is going to be really really small :-D
Everyone that rides FMX must be so relieved that he no longer competes so that they have a chance to win now! Long live 199!!!

Travis makes the world a better place...he should be everyone's role model! XD
haven't watched a single freestyle event sense he retired. he was the only guy that brought new tricks to the sport

Travis is the king of fmx
I still can't believe I got to meet him in '17, he's an unbelievably incredible individual. A true superstar
10 years on and this still holds up
One of the best X Games ever. He has style, speed, very creative 😎🇺🇸🏁❤️
He just loves to ride his bike ! I sooooo needed that today !
I am not even a big fan of FMX but... Travis Pastrana is the best guy ever on a bike.
He is just so amazing. Sorry for my crap english :)
Thanks for sharing this. Pure god given talent.
I always get the chills when the announcers say something and I love having the name Travis just because of him!!!
"We feel like he was fifteen again right there."
Dude, when he was fifteen, he won at X with a freaking Rodeo Air. Man, how the times change.
this is why he is the best fmx rider in the WORLD!
Amazes me how gods like Travis or Tom Pages can be so humble. And then there’s soccer players that are littéral princesses
i will surely miss travis riding on a dirt bike.

Travis Pastrana's!! Off the chain when it come's to the. X Game's!! MOTOCROSS FREESTYLE!!!
I wonder what went through Rodger's head the first time he saw some of these tricks.
You gotta love the goggles give.
Travis made Freestyle so fun to watch. I know he had an edge because he’s a former racer but in the big moments he showed up.
travis is the best and always will be
