Thanks! I find it fun... especially when developing larger pieces--you can go really crazy with it. It's also good when you're changing the scale/density between grids--joining gets tricky to do when merging two grid densities together. So by stepping away from the grid to do the joins freehand, it saves some of the headache of matching different grid densities. LOL We'll be moving into what I call "freehand knotting" in a few tutorials, so I want to make sure everyone has lots of fun ways to use all these ideas together!
