Hello again Di! Yes I did see where you were wood burning your platter or bowl with what looked like a castle. Very nice. I look forward to additional tutorials in the future. Great ideas can be had. John
I'm a woodturner, I have some round turning blanks and was thinking of making a 13" platter for the dinner table. The round celtic knot will be just the design to accent such a piece. Thank you very much for your clear and in-depth instructions. Even we woodworkers need help. John
This version is is great up to drawing the circles and the division of sections....ie the grid in circular form. However to draw the knot.....this is not what I would use. Perhaps try the Nichols way on this grid.
If you are referring to David Nichols thank you for the reminder! It's been a while since I watched his videos but here is a link to his technique for drawing the threads...ua-cam.com/video/K6cNg-SGis8/v-deo.htmlsi=16kzdfH4wzD0ffNW
I'm so sorry! I am working on a few ideas to help with the lighting for future videos. In the meantime, the companion blog for this video might help... disstudiodesigns.com/blog/circular-celtic-border-knot-tutorial-basic-braid

Absolutely! I've been busy doing other projects but wood-burning projects are coming soon!

You're so very welcome! I often wood-burn these types of designs onto wood plates. The look is eye-catching!
Very cleverly done
Many thanks!
I'm looking forward to giving this a go, this would be a great pattern on a rim of a bowl. I've thrown the bowl, I just need to draw this pattern
Oh wow! I could definitely see this pattern on a bowl! Such a creative idea!
