Nice video Bill. FYI - you could use hi-res sampling in the MDO to increase vertical resolution and low pass filter (noise filter) the noisy output signal.

Awesome tutorial, HACKADAY ! It's been a long time since I've had an opportunity to look at op-amps. Please keep these coming. This is useful for Raspi and arduino projects when setting up monitoring for any sort of project.

This was excellent. Probably better than any other lecture or talk on the subject. I for one would love to see a pragmatic "quieting down" video too.

You make an otherwise dry topic sound extremely interesting!

I had no idea that instrumentation amps existed so I spent ages googling weird combinations of words until I found this, the answer to all my problems

dang... I thought I was the only person who has kept their PMI databook for all of these decades! Nice intro in into I.A.'s. Thanks for the review.

I'm extremely late here, but I think you made a mistake at 04:55. The voltage the inverting input is not 0V. It is equal to the voltage across the Rg resistor, essentially the voltage at the non-inverting input

can we use this after a preamp to set levels for the adc ?

It would be great if can you do an episode to quiet the circuit down?

A very good introduction into instrumentation amplifiers. Thank you !

Thanks! I now understand the basic concept of the inamp, but i am still not unable to understand role of all resistors in the circuit. Can you please make in depth video explaining function of all 7 resistors that are present in inamp circuit? (and the 5 resistors in simplified circuit). It's still unclear to me how the gain is set in different stages.

Eg. i don't get why i can't just use plain opamp buffer (opamp with output tied to negative input) to buffer both inamp inputs. You don't need any resistors to make voltage buffer using opamp.

Hey Bil, I'm trying hard to understand in amp with single supply, could you please explain waht happens if this in amp would be connected to single supply ? Thank you very much

hi, hoping someone here can help me!I'm trying to use an Instrumentation Amplifier on a 2MHz balanced signal. the parasitic capacitance of my IA is 10pF or just under 8k ohm at 2MHz... the equivalent series input impedance circuit is 0.06 -7957i according to what I calculated...I need the highest possible input impedance, so to cancel out the parasitic C may I put an inductor in parallel with it? I ask cause I haven't found schematics where that's done and google search hasn't led me to relevant articles, yet..cheers :)

    Hello World!
Interesting video, but being French, some part is not clear to me (difficulty understanding English spoken).
Would it be possible to put subtitles?
    Thank you.
    Best Regards.
Ps: is it possible to have the name of the end music? =)

Nice video, but can you please turn the volume down on your music? Or better yet, just get rid of the music at the end. I turn the volume up so I can hear you speak, and then I get blasted with techno at the end at high volume.
