Our kūpuna discovered this thousands of years before euro-americans did. In fact King Kalākaua on his 1881 world tour met with Darwin in person and shared a hand printed copy from the Hawaiian Kingdom Printing presses about “He Mele Kumulipo” and Darwin admitted Hawaiians discovered te theories of evolution thousands of years before he did. Our kūpuna also discovered natural selection before western scientists and time and space thousands of years before Einstein.
I love this story. It is also scientifically correct. Through DNA, we are all 'oiwi, related. I am not originally Hawaiian, but the Kumulipo feels very sacred and true to me.
It's interesting that the Kumulipo says the first living organisms originated in the sea and created counterparts on land. Nowadays we know through science that life did originate in the sea, and eventually moved to the land and evolved. The ancient Hawaiians had a good intuition about how nature works.

Annie Chamberlain get fhe f€ck out of here with ur science bullshit
Relax Jah Jah. Annie Chamberlain obviously respects the Kumulipo.
jah Jah you gotta issues
Exponential growth on a finite planet is not sustainable. We need a mind set shift.
I agree. The Kumulipo seems more scientific correct than the average, religious mythology about the origin of life.
