Thanks for the great analysis again. There will be changes for the Boks next weekend, but as a Bok fan, I'm feeling more comfortable going into the Cape Town game simply because the Boks should really be much better. So many errors from the Boks, at least two of which led to AB tries.
This ABs fan thinks the difference between the sides was the ability of the Springboks to hold their shape and composure in the last 20m, while the ABs didn’t. It was really good to see some unfancied ABs step up and show why they’re in the squad though; the likes of Vai’i and Blackadder went toe to toe with their very good Bok counterparts.
Both teams are in an evolutionary stage with the Boks ahead of the curve. There’s really not much between the teams though. For the ABs, I would tweak the lineup to get bigger bodies, more speed and better distribution into the game. Specifically to start Darry at lock, Barrett to 6, Ratima to 9, Proctor to 13, Ione to wing. All the rest remain. The bench would be Tosi (size and mobility), Newell, Aumua, Blackadder, Sititi (size and speed), TJ, Clarke, ALB. The 2 big work ons for the ABs are re-starts/exits. They gifted too much field position and scoring chances on 5 different kick offs. This is a soft let off for your opponent and allows them back in the game. Discipline is the other. This weeks ref is Matt Carley, the awful English ref from last years Wales v Fiji RWC match! So staying on his good side will be crucial. Better game management and decision making will help with that.

I think we (SA) got away with one. Both these tests were alwys going to be tough; On the one side Ellis Park has been a good hunting ground for NZ with fast hard pitches and the altitude that tests the big bodies. Even though we do have pace and its a home ground the pitch does favor the side with the better skills/hands which remains NZ. Tests come down to small moments. 3 moments stand out for me losing that game. 1. TJs penalty for yelling at the ref, hot on attack, bok not rolling and call going the other way. Huge swing. 2. Lineout in the corner when 10 points up and they tried a trick play and blew closing the game out. Shouldve mauled. 3. The biggest was Finau's dumb penalty. Maul on halfway, told to get out numerous times and didnt listen. Just dumb. Gave springboks kick to the corner and game lost.
Yeah, people will go on about the knock on being huge, but we let them get in that position and if try wasnt awarded we would have probably gone down a man. I thought c. taylors try could have also been disallowed and as has come to light sam cane lucky to not be carded. Other key moments.... - blackadder not passing to an unmarked clarke - ardie taking 3 boks on by himself and getting hauled over the touch line hot on attack .....should have cut back in - the amount of isolated rucks where they turned us over or we were penalised for holding on....bit of a trend building in that area over the first few games of the season. - selection of talea on the bench was just silly. NZ have an attitude problem in some members of the team. Young and cocky, and lacking a firm hand from a senior team member. We've seen them go off the boil in every game they're leading, and coming into games they're considered firm favorites. The two games against Argentina was a perfect example of that. If these guys played every minute at full intensity instead of switching off, the ABs would close out games like the last one against SA, and put in dominant performances every time against lesser teams like Argentina. Not too say they wouldn't still loose the odd game, but just not be the reason they lost. Attitude is key. 🖤

Did you notice that the action that let the Boks back in the game was the penalty against Perenara for shouting at the ref? This seems to typify the ABs at the moment, atrocious discipline masked over by exceptional skill.
The only way NZ lose is forced controversy in media. They have a really hard time looking at their own team and taking accountability as a reason for a loss.
I thought the Boks were cooked with the early 2nd half score and the Fassi 2 meter "kick". But, then the Kiwis made the same error kick. Perhaps the ABs win too much, win too much as in the first half is slaughter points and other teams cannot keep up and do not win the second half by as much of a margin. How often do they need to score from behind around the 60th minute and win the match?
It was anybody's game up until the last 20 minutes and WHO shifted into top gear in those last 20 ??? Our Boks are skilful, brutal and fast! Always have been but only now the old schoolers are stepping back and permitting them to do so.
Missed opportunity for NZ to win there. Its a game they genuinely should have won tbh. The cape town game should be better pickings for them. Boks dont have a good history in the cape of late
Its ridiculous how the ABs have such a hard time taking accountability and responsibility. Its like they are expecting everyone to rule in their favor, completely blind to their mistakes. Be better.
65 minutes ABs up by 10 on attack in the 22 Boks win a turnover Fassi breaks out kicks for Cheslin could have thrown inside pass but they score on drive just after and ABs get card from then on ABs get ball back but poor kicks mistakes penalties pile on an Boks do their thing

The only way NZ lose is forced controversy in media. They have a really hard time looking at their own team and taking accountability as a reason for a loss.
Word cup 24 they stemmed the tide both teams did was pretty close to a stalemate up front … Boks won on winning some moments
The AB scrum was Shite! The loose head kept going down and no penalties.
Didnt we have a worse record at Jhb though, especially against the ABs?
Historically, it’s an average win. This has how it’s mostly been with SA vs NZ.
Are you not the guy to said South Africa by 20 over ireland?
ALL BLACKS had them , lucky for bokky brace , and their favourite TMO.
Why is Jan Serfontein not among the centre's, or do we rely on damaine and Jesse so much,he's much btr thn both
so is am but alas
They got home on there experienced bench, if you look at the stats the NZ bench provided absolutely nothing, a few penalties that was it
So how’s England going?? 😂
105 TEST MATCHES PAL
NZ -WON 62
SA- WON 39 😳🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️😂
New team new coaches new era rebuilding so keep flapping your gums flap flap flap 😂
Just like when everybody wrote them off at the RWC but still made the finals 😂😂
What is up with people are they that desperate to beat them?? Wow 😯
3tries from lineouts , 2 with opposition prop off ; 4tries to 3 , which is the more skilfull ?
The team that gets the most points on the board. One team lacked discipline and always blame everyone around them if things dont go their way ❤
Look dominant with a tight forward in the sin bin last quarter huh but then you are good at penalty - lineout - maul because you don't usually score outwide well you have Capetown to show the world just how you are going to Dominate the 3rd ranked team in world rugby 😂
As a bok fan, northern hemisphere should stop disrespecting the ABs. Ireland won two games in NZ and one in RSA. Boks have work to do to match the ABs.
Fake bok fan. SA is FAAR beyoned the ABs. They cant win a word cup. SA 4-3 NZ Also NZ is not our rivals anymore Ireland and Argentina is all we care about now. NZ rugby died when sam cane's sholder started changing ruby rules
I cannot make sense of either of these comments.
@jimsquire-chestnuts8381
37 test matches played between NZ v Ireland
NZ won 31
Ireland won 5 😳
105 test matches played between NZ v SA

Talk all want little to little bro the world knows who the REAL champions are 😂😂😂 FOH
@@fu8713 In the last 2 years NZ lost every game against SA. We dont care about 10 years ago. That team is gon. NZ losing to argentina. lol NZ rugby died. Its dead no leave it alone
@@fu8713 Historical stats aside. NZ is not better than Irland or argentina. NZ can only win agains rugby teams who dont care about rubgy. And then they cry about it on the internet
how can u pod cast if u never even watched the game real time live. u lost me bru
Huh?
Huh?
Huh
You lost me bru.
Nz are way over rated
Haka . Not pronounced Hacker.
Hah Kah.
Annoying that you don't make the effort to say it correctly. Try harder Bro.
I hate controversial Tries. I wanted it wiped off. The AB's took it to the Boks & looked the better team for the most part & deserved the win. 14 penalties is awful from any top team. That come back was special. A great game. Viva our boys in green & gold.
TMO should just revisit every try. Maybe another angle would have been available to determine if it was a a knockon then there wouldn't be any doubt. We will never know now but I still think the boks would have found a way
@@floatpoint1050 Agreed & they showed us that in the RWC 1+1+1 = 4
