Thank you, watching that took me back to the early 1990s when we stayed at Pier Cottage in our campervan with our 2 young children, lovely to see it all again. It hasn't changed much just a few more pitches.
How lovely. It would be interesting to see if your not so young children remember it too. Jess remembers all our trips in the motorhome. Memories made. Nd what a beautiful place to make memories 💕
Spent my childhood on that site. Got to drive the gondola back to pier cottage at the end of the day. Great memories, went back recently. Its barely changed 👍
It’s a lovely site, we were so lucky to get in - an amazing experience. How amazing to be able to drive he Gondola back. Bet it brings back amazing memories. All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Love the Lake District. Coniston Looked stunning. Nice to have a view and seat by the lake if you want it. You had glorious weather for your stay. What a lovely place. Looks like you had a nice walk. Looks really quiet there. It’s funny when you get recognised isn’t it? Always surprises us 🤣 boat trip looked great. Don’t mind basic with a view like that. Nice 👍 😊🧙♂️
Thank you - it was an amazing area and the weather was very kind to us. I enjoyed the boat trip, next time we go I think we will hire one of the electric self drive boats for a tour around the lake. I was really surprised to be recognised in the car park and it was really nice of the chap to take the time to say hello! The facilities were adequate and clean which is all you need on a site that side as you say with that view and location. Certainly one I would love to go back to! All the best, David & Rachel. 👍
Morning guys! 💕 I loved the site for its quirkiness (not regimented lines of vans) and proximity to the lake and village. Rox had an amazing time too. And how lucky with the weather?! 🌞🌞 I loved watching the film of Donald Campbell and the Bluebird while being there & I only found out last night that my dad had gone and sat on the Bluebird as a child the year before it crashed … see doing these videos leads us to memories that we wouldn’t have known otherwise! 💕💕
@@rachelwalker202 that’s awesome Rachel. Fancy finding that out about your dad! Graham met his daughter Gina Campbell a couple of times. (She was sponsored by AGFA, a company we both worked for years ago) love quirky sites like that one. Definitely one on our list. Fancy the boat hire too. Take care. 😊x
It’s a lovely village isn’t it - something magical about the Lake District, especially places such as Coniston where they are nestled in the hills and mountains. Thanks for the comment, appreciated, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Morning guys! Isn’t it beautiful 💕 it’s my sort of site, I like the quirkiness and non regimented lay out. People were queuing to book in again before they left. The sign of a good site! 💕
I love the memories this video has created for some people. I remember we had a little caravan with bunk beds. My sister being older always got the top bed 😡 but I learnt how to push it up and rattle her about in revenge 🤣🤣
We love Coniston and have visited a number of times over the years. We more recently stayed at the Caravan Club site Park Coppice which is a much bigger site and also benefits from this beautiful area of Cumbria. Thanks for the tour 👍🏻🚐 Trev n Sue
Thanks Trev n Sue, it’s the first time we had been camping in the area, all be it I have done some walking there many many years ago. Definitely will go back 😀 Will have to try Park Coppice, I think we may have passed the entrance if I’m not mistaken on our way along. Lovely area and we were blessed with the weather for March especially - all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Hi guys, isn’t it a beautiful area. Thank you for reminding us about Aira Force. We loved it, and Roxy had a great time. David also insisted we went to the motor museum, Roxy and I enjoyed the cafe 🤣🤣
You guys picked the right time of year to go, I work in Cumbria as a commercial surveyor at least a couple of times a week and from here on in I won't be able to get anywhere quickly. Looks like you were lucky with the weather too. Thanks K.
We were very lucky with the weather, and great it wasn’t too busy also, imagine it’s Mid September before it’s starts to quieten off. hope it’s not too bad for you this year, all the best, David & Rachel
It’s a beautiful area you are very fortunate to live there and see it everyday - thanks for the comment, really appreciated- all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Hi David & Rachel, we are looking at sites in the area for next year. This is a great video, lots of info and detail which we found really useful. Thanks Dave & Helen 👍
Hi Dave & Helen, Thank you very much for the comment and for watching - really appreciated- great area to visit and pleased you found it useful - all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Lake district - simply stunning, we love it there and are booked for 2 sites later in the year. Site looked nice with great views but sadly not the facilities to match which is a shame. You also had great weather too. Thanks as always for taking the time to make and share these vlogs 👍
Thanks Tim, it’s a beautiful part of the country isn’t it - we were very lucky with the weather, especially for March and the Lake District 😀 You’re welcome, thank you for taking the time to comment, it’s really appreciated. All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Thanks Glyn and welcome to the channel - hope you find it useful - most of the adventures (travel) content is very relevant so hope you find something helpful - all the best, David & Rachel 👍
It was beautiful 🤩 amazing scenery, water for Rox to swim in and a short plod for refreshments. It really was unique and quirky and watching the film looking across at the cottage topped it off! Splendid. No wonder everyone was queuing to book their next visit! A real hidden gem 💎
@@rachelwalker202 it looked lovely Rachel , one to go on the list i think , i love it next to the water Coniston is nice .ive got a video of me climbing the Old Man of Coniston but never uploaded it ..
Great vlog as usual you guys! How early do you go out filming to get nobody in your video footage? Loved the scenery thought you captured the place really well 😊 Look forward to your next vlog 👍
Normally get up and take Roxy out some point between 6:30 and 7:30 where there aren’t so many people about, gives the impression it’s quiet doesn’t it 😀 Thanks very much for the comment, it’s really appreicated. All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Thanks for the comment, fair enough, I think it was £26 when I visited last year per night but that was in the spring. I've seen a lot worse cost wise at peak - some eye-waveringly expensive. All the best, David 👍
Totally agree! used to be cheap holidays not anymore that's why caravan sales are going though a bad patch at the moment!! Motorhomes sales doing a bit better because they can stay a few nights free or low cost at many locations now..
Thank you, watching that took me back to the early 1990s when we stayed at Pier Cottage in our campervan with our 2 young children, lovely to see it all again. It hasn't changed much just a few more pitches.
Pleased it brought back memories for you Marian, a really lovely area isn’t it - timeless beauty. All the best, David & Rachel ❤️

Wonderful place and hasn't changed a lot in all the years since Donald Campbell was there.....

🤣🤣 and I certainly didn’t film me eating the huge scone with jam and cream 🤣

I “encourage” David to take Roxy out early to capture nice quiet footage (it allows me a lie in 🤣🤣)
Rather surprised you didn't visit Donald campbells grave site.
We missed that when we were there, always a good reason to go back as lovely area.

Thanks but no need for background music really. Thanks though for great video. 👍🏆
Sorry the music wasn’t to your liking. Appreciate the feedback. All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Just seen video. Looks a nice site then I found out it’s £35 a night in August + metered electric. Won’t be going. Way too expensive
