But when I see how many free units they DJI sent out for reviews including all the extra dongles needed and the 99.00 carry bag I see why so many great reviews until yours! I only wish I had watched yours first 😉. When it comes to price I’m sure the drop is because a newer unit will be released shortly and they wanted to clear out their warehouse! When it comes to shipping they have been very slow with filling my orders the last item I ordered was shipped first the app dongle! Some items won’t ship until Jan 10th but all items were in stock per the DJI store app. 🤷♂️

I entirely agree with what you said. The piecemeal system makes it much more expensive in the long run that it seems at first buy. The $379 prices lures you and then you realize that you have to buy the dongles to simply use solar charging. So ridiculous.
Filmmakers often pick this because it's quiet and expandable. If it was your first time charging it, it may not have switched to 1200 watt charging because DJI recommends a regular (600 watt) charging (via AC not Solar) the first time charging (and a full discharge before recharging) . It's possible software limits it's charging first time. Hopefully you got it to charge faster after depleting it and charging a 2nd time. Dongles are fine, but I can see them updating this to have 3 SDC ports or include 2 of the standard ports below the SDC's (considering panel space is there, I'm surprised this wasn't done) with more AC outputs (though a power strip works fine). I also think they will be releasing a 2k or 3k, and eventually a 5k version like Jackery. I look forward to adding an updated version.
This box is mainly for drone enthusiasts who want a way to fast charge their batteries when you’re off grid somewhere. They made a new car charger box where you wire it directly to the vehicle battery and really pull in some power (500W/1kW) to fast charge.

"Have to buy"... You don't "have" to buy anything... Which power station allows you to hook up 6 100w solar panels without additional modules? The solar module connects to the side of the Power 1000 and it comes with the multiple panel solar kit. If you purchase the single panel kit, it comes with the 12v dongle. Also, if you think about it, most 12V devices actually use USB connections at the 12V plug. Not all, of course. I have an Anker 535T that I've never used the 12V port on and it's just one more opportunity for moisture to gain access. To each their own but, I'd rather add the stuff that I actually need, rather than have my power bank be covered in superfluous ports that I'll never use or only use occasionally.
Agree. 3 mppt ports for £41 is nothing. Also if the sockets wear I can replace without sending the whole unit away for repair. I think folk are just rigid in their thinking. The quiet fans put it ahead for many situations.
The key was buying this for around $320, getting the super fast charger car charger for $300 (with the app dongle too) and using it to charge say a larger Ecoflow Delta Pro3 at say 850 (1500 watts at first) in the car. With the EcoFlow fast charger you would spend $700 alone for the car fast charger. This gives you an extra portable device and 1k watt more capacity (okay 800) plus the fast charging (assuming it passes through... but will be testing this exact scenario when they all come in).
Can you use the cigarette lighter from the one cord with the 3 input of the mppt. Seems like it would make sense to buy the 3 port mppt and the basic cable from Amzon for say $10.
I'm guessing the external mppt is why its so quiet which I will take. People who buy stuff cant seriously be complaining about buying other stuff?? Just by what you need and enjoy. It seems like you're cutting your nose off. Efficiency could be better though! Separate dongles have many benefits, have a think.
The dongles are annoying but what other 1kW power station will let you do 800w Solar? Most only do 500w, and are priced the same. If you live in a sunny area the dongles are worth it for the extra 300w.

They sell for $900 each. Bought 2 on sale on Amazon for $758. I do not mind buying 2 MPPT’s. Freaking awesome deal.

I'm annoyed that it says the SDC ports support up to 51.2v input, but there are no 48v SDC dongles available
