Nice update video REM, your avocado trees are looking great! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing and comparing the 5 gallon and 15 gallon Hass. That's amazing how the 5 gallon is performing! -Gregory
It would have been amazing if those avocados were actually Reeds but I'll take the Hass. Thanks for watching!
Your trees are looking good and you have lots of Hass fruit, which is great! It looks like you have not had much sun damage. Congrats on your fruit so far, I hope they hold and the UFO's don't get them.
UFO's are starting, I can see some fruit already getting nibbles. 😭 Hope your trees are doing good and thanks for watching!
I have the same issue with 3 Reeds hanging on 2 yr old Brokaw clonal. Tree is still having great growth spurts, so I will probably leave on tree, since I’m not worried about tree getting too big. Reeds are my favorite tasting so far. Also, the Brokaw GEM you sold me, is doing well with nice growth spurts. Your trees are looking great and I like Monster can comparison. Those Mexicola’s should be ready to harvest beginning in September/October👍
I think I'll just keep them, problem is there is 8 on one trees which seems excessive. Glad you're trees are doing good, my one and only Gem from Brokaw is doing good too, too far of a walk for me to record it. I'll have to show it off next time. Thanks for watching!
Nice updated tour of the trees. I am amazed at how well your trees handled the heat and sun we've been having. They all look good! I have most of my trees in shaded areas or covered with shade cloth, but the ones that are not as well covered or get more sun, kind of got fried. The ones in the shade are full and lush. It really demonstrated how important shading is for younger trees that are still in 15 or 25 gal pots. In contrast, my fig trees can handle all kinds of heat and sun exposure, as long as I keep them watered. By the way, your video is a Master Class in proper product placement!! ;) I'm going out to get a Monster Drink.....
There was a method to the madness, smaller trees by the fence, type A next to B and so on... Some of my trees got fried a little, I did spray them down once in a while which helped. Stay hydrated and thanks for watching!
Wow sc gold looks great. Looking forward to the taste test
At this point it should flower next year. Stay tuned and thanks for watching!
This year will be my first . My tree is 3 years-old in the ground (reed) . Last year it wanted to give me one But i took it off tree was to young . So im so excited to try my reed this year. I also have a pinkerton 3 years old some flowers no fruit yet !! Love growing these trees !!
Going to be a great year, hang in there!
Btw, I am growing SirPrize for the same reason. It's seems like a tough avocado for dealing with extreme temperatures. Elsinore Gardener has some good videos of it and I recently visited Jeff, the TropicalGardenGuy, in Modesto and sure enough his SirPrize tree was loaded when many of our trees up here were not. I tried them years ago and they were excellent!
Considering my sir prize did flower this year and set some fruit but nothing stuck, I'm thinking it will for sure do something next year. Kinda like my little cado last year and this year has a bunch of fruit. We just had a really weak pollination this year.
@@AvocadoTalk I am under the impression it has to be big before fruiting. Greg Alder discusses this somewhat in his SirPrize video. To me the wait is worth it. Perhaps because the fruitset is so heavy the tree has to be strong first.
@@growyourownavocados I guess its been a known alternate bearer so I'll call this year the off year, I'm expecting big things next spring. We'll see...
@@AvocadoTalk I am going to keep mine until it fruits. I remember when I had them I was "SirPrized" by wonderful flavor.
Your 5 gallon and 15 gallon Hass looks great. How old are those trees?
Hass planted January 2021...5 gallon looks like it caught up and surpassing 15 gallon.
Very cool video! Trees looking great, do you have any Fuerte?
I do have a Fuerte, I'm hoping it's going to fruit for me next year. No fruit yet... Are you growing some also?
@@AvocadoTalk I hope it sets some nice fruit for you, yes I planted one last year and removed the fruit from it and it has been taking off quite well. I just started foliar feeding and that has created a lot of new growth in some exposed spots 🤙
My Jim bacon started flushing out. Planting 5 gallon end of last year. Once it started getting hot totally stopped growing and looks like it’s about to lose all its leaves. I’m in riverside, may just tear it out and put an ettinger in its place. Would like a b type next to my Hass
Same here neighbor...mine is still Ok but stalled in the heat. Look into Edranol, mine is doing good handling the heat. Also the Sir Prize....Good luck and keep me updated!
@@AvocadoTalk both my sir prize are doing great. Planted from 15 gallon last year. No fruit this year. Greg Alder says sir prize are hit and miss with production. Home Depot has 15 gallon Ettingers right now from Durling nurseries in gravel potting soil.
@@ericmatthews7264 Durling is good, I like them better than others around here...
No Charwil ???
