My adult daughter also is my worst critic. Recently she admitted she and her cousin titter about my "weird hair" when they see me wearing alternative hair. 😢 This made me so sad and even more self conscious. She said I need to just embrace my changing hair as everyone's body goes through change. While she doesn't think it's "that bad"I don't want to embrace it! I want to feel confident and pretty again. It's such a contradictory situation as children insist we support them and their choices but we as their mothers don't readily get it from them! We feel so vulnerable with hair loss and having our daughter's support rather than criticism would mean so much. Thank you for your reviews. I love my upgraded Courtney.
❤️❤️❤️❤️ I am so, so sorry that this has been your experience. All day I preach that you need to feel comfortable in the hair and that others' opinions don't matter, but when those who are closest to us aren't supportive, it can take a toll. I am glad that you love your Courtney and that you continue to wear it. As a complete introvert, I struggle to film this content sometimes, but I am really hopeful that we can destigmatize alternative hair the way some other cultures have. If you ever want to chat, send me a DM. Thank you for being here. ❤️
This video was really helpful in trying to decide what to get. I was about to splurge on a highline but why do that when I could get a hat wig and a courtney upgrade for the same cost! The realistic airdry would be perfect for me! Also, I love your headband. Where is it from? Thank you for your time!
Thank you for your kind words, and for your patience. I'm so sorry to have kept you waiting. The head band info is below. What did you end up purchasing in the end? amzn.to/3TnUAAE amzn.to/3x60rly (can)
@lifebeyondlocks hey there! They didn't have my color&length available in the hat wig at the time so I went with the Courtney and I love it! Looks so natural 😍
I’m a fan of the side part too. I just got my first uniwigs aura topper on closeout. It was only left in my color and side part so I had to buy it 😂 I pulled it out of the box and the first word that can to mind was flat. I’m planning on washing it and working with it to get some body. I am a fan of wave but I don’t mind straight just not that straight. Honestly as nicely priced as uniwigs is I was pretty impressed with the quality.
This looks gorgeous on you. Does the hair look exactly like this after wash? Or did you do anything extra like put a leave in condition or serum or did you style for her to look like this?
Great question! This is straight out of the wash. I might have sprayed a little Amika Brooklyn Blow out, but I can't remember. If I did, it was only 1-2 small sprays.
I bought a uniwigs topper (aura upgrade) thanks to you and another UA-camr. Once I washed, dried, and put it on it was wavy and looked just like how my bio hair used to look (even the texture) as a teenager lol. I was so confident in how natural looking it was, that I wore it out to the store immediately. Pretty happy with my purchase 😊
I am so happy to hear this. Thank you for taking the time to write - I am super grateful. Glad you're having fun in your new hair - it's amazing to experience what feels like our old hair again! 💕
Hey Ashley!! Just a quick question, with the truffle brown colour were the knots less visible? I was just wondering if the knots would be less visible for a darker shade as my colour shade is always off black.
I am so sorry. Here it is: m.uniwigs.com/hair-pieces/45029-7-x-8-upgrade-courtney-mono-top-human-hair-topper.html Please let me know if I can help in any other way!
@laurieglover7694 I have. Hair is more fragile when it's wet, so that's where I try to be careful, but I find it gets sleeker when I blowdry with a round brush as it starts to dry, and then I go in with flat iron. That said --- Uniwigs now offers this piece in Chinese Remy hair, so it should be straighter. I will demo it - post-wash, as soon as my sample arrives. I'm optimistic about the styling of it because I've had positive experiences with Chinese hair from other companies.
❤❤ thanks for sharing!! Also you look sooo beautiful in truffle brown colour. It looks so much more natural for your appearance and for some reason I liked how the Courtney looked for you after washing than the aura. Did you by any chance put a leave in conditioner here or curl cream. Aura felt like having a bit of a frizz after washing.
@asht7899 that's so interesting. I actually found the Aura less frizzy, but, ultimately, it comes down to the hair from the donors, so it can't be controlled entirely. I put nothing in them, but, as a curly girl, I know that curl cream and technique can go a long way, so I'm sure these waves could be worked even more. 😊
Hey Ashley! I just bought an upgrade Courtney but was a bit disappointed because I have a Savannah as well and when comparing the density, there was so much difference between the both. Savannah was so thick that my bio hair would not poke out. But the density of upgrade Courtney was quite thin that lots of my bio hair was poking out though both are 130 percent 😢 . Wanted to check with you if you feel a difference with the density.
@asht7899 yes, there is definitely a difference in density with the smaller cap and mono top. I'm sorry that it's not what you hoped. I sincerely hope I wasn't misleading. Maybe I need to do a roundup of the toppers and contrast them all. My Courtney is used primarily with ponytails and wide headbands since it doesn't cover all of my hair at the back. It is a much lower price tag, and I do believe that it's great value, but it does require some colour work in many cases for a seamless blend. Do you plan to return it? Again, I'm sorry it didn't work out.
This particular piece isn't available in 120, but because of the cap construction, it really isn't a whole lot of hair. I think that it works beat for those with mild to moderate hair loss.
My adult daughter also is my worst critic. Recently she admitted she and her cousin titter about my "weird hair" when they see me wearing alternative hair. 😢 This made me so sad and even more self conscious.

Great info!!! Great review! Thank you so much! 💕
Thank YOU!
Mouse brown is definitely the color that looks best I like the wave after the wash
Isn't the wave great!?
I have mouse brown and it is incredibly red! Like really red after washing.
I’ve tried uniwigs twice…all turn red.
Love your videos! Very informative. Thank you so much!
Wow! That's really, really kind. Thank you for this. ❤️

You are just fabulous! Your videos are so informative. If you don’t like something, I believe you would say it. I love it wavy!
Oh my! Thank you so much for this. I am so, so grateful. ❤️
I think that it looks good wavy also. 😊
Thank you for being here.
I like both colors on you but the lighter colored topper is really pretty with your eyes and skin tone!
Well, thank you! Isn't that the best part - the choices to change things up easily!

@@lifebeyondlocks wow thank you sooo much for this!! Really helps. So was she shampooed and conditioned or just rinsed?
I like the wavy for sure. Looks more natural.
I like it too. 😊

How does the cap feel? Is it crunchy?
@@lifeofsainty No, the cap is soft even after washing. I hang it on a hanger to let it air dry. The hair is still soft.
Hey Ashley!! Just a quick question, with the truffle brown colour were the knots less visible? I was just wondering if the knots would be less visible for a darker shade as my colour shade is always off black.
Also what shampoo and conditioner do you use to wash your toppers?
Just to clarify - do uou mean less visible than with the off-black colour?
@@lifebeyondlocks yup.. would the knots be less noticeable if the topper is in a darker shade like off black or natural black types of topper color?
Hi Ashley, can you give me the website to the toppers. I looked up the website you have on the description, but I believe it's not correct. Thank you!
I am so sorry. Here it is: m.uniwigs.com/hair-pieces/45029-7-x-8-upgrade-courtney-mono-top-human-hair-topper.html
Please let me know if I can help in any other way!
I love it. I got to get mine 😊
Please let me know how it goes!
Can I ask what length of the Courtney did you get?
I'll have to check, but I believe it's a 16".
I enjoyed your video! Are you sure the darker color is Truffle Brown and not Espresso Brown?
Thanks for the kind comment. I am sure that it's Truffle Brown. I have more than one piece in the colour, and I still have the tags. 😊
@@lifebeyondlocks okay thank you for clarifying :)
Buenos días, ¿cómo se llama el topper que llevas ondulado? ¿Cómo lo puedo encontrar en la web? Muchas gracias ❤
I just washed mine for the first time yesterday and wondered if I did something wrong when it dried wavy😂
Oh no! I hope it was a pleasant surprise for you! You can definitely straighten it though!
@@lifebeyondlocks I put some leave in conditioner on it to see if that would help and I do like how it looks now😀
What products do you use to straighten it??
I should film a video of this! I use a flat iron and sometimes a round brush. 😊
It’s just beautiful! Do you let the topper dry naturally then flat iron it??
@laurieglover7694 I have. Hair is more fragile when it's wet, so that's where I try to be careful, but I find it gets sleeker when I blowdry with a round brush as it starts to dry, and then I go in with flat iron.

What would you prefer personally? An upgrade aura or upgrade Courtney?
Both have a place, but I like a large base and a silk-like top, so I love Aura Upgrade. ❤️

I like your videos but the angle is always difficult to see fully.
I'm working on a studio space; will try to remedy this in the future.
Ok. stop shaking them around - you’re making me dizzy 😂
🙈🙈🙈 I need practice. I'm not a natural UA-camr. 🤣
Will keep it in mind for next time. 😉
