I know that there is a bias because the video comes from tuft+paw and they sell a tofu litter but I appreciated that this was pretty fair. It didn't feel like the watcher was being heavily pushed to tofu, or even the brands own litter. Definitely a good vid for new cat parents, even experienced ones for looking for new litter types
This comment made our day! We're obviously bias to tofu as that's the route we went, but the reality is that there are some other options out there that cat parents could consider and we wanted to share :)
Depends what your main priorities are! Odor, clumping, cost, tracking, dust, etc. In general though, we prefer a pellet tofu litter, like Really Great Cat Litter :)
Just came from Walmart with their 40 varieties of litter and only one single type litter box that was an over complicated self cleaning deal for 140 bucks... Looks like my stray will continue to use his litter wok 😂 Been using pine bedding as I have dogs and use it outside. Works okay but tracks terrible.
If you want the best for your cats health and the environment, soy, wood, or corn is the go to. I personally HATE the pellets (I find I waste a ton of the litter when cleaning poops) so corn is the top for me!
I like the wood pellet litter. Very economical: i buy 40 pound bag for less than $7.00 at Tractor Supply. I also bought a sifting litterbox from Amazon: Arm abd Hammer Sifting Litterbox. Came with two litter boxes and a sifter that nested inside litterboxes. It only takes a couple minutes to sift pellets. Pellets are converted to sawdust when cat urinates on them. Sifting seperates sawdust easily for disposal.
My cats prefer grass, it tracks but a xl mat under my litter box helps....I also recommend the "Scooper Cleaner" to remove the waste / litter mixture that gets stuck in the scooper.
Is there a cat litter to help with odor when cats don’t cover their poo 💩? 🙃 my kitty has never covered anything since she was a baby and I’ve used crystal litter to help. But would like to use something that won’t damage her lungs.
let her watch videos of cat covering their litter. my kitten also do not cover her litter at first, and then i let her watch her mama cover the litter, she quickly covered hers after that
Have you seen cats be allergic to tofu litter? I think my cat is... so i'm wondering what my next option for "biodegradable" litter. Thanks for the help
How about grass, walnut, bamboo, or hemp litters? :) My husband and I are thinking of adopting a cat and I started researching litter a few days ago. :) I totally fell down the rabbit hole lol. I know I don't want to use clay litter, and I'm leaning away from using either corn or wheat litter, since I know that grain can be a problem for cats. I know it's litter, not food, but since there's plenty of other natural options out there, I figure corn and wheat-based litters will be easy to avoid while still leaving me with plenty of good, natural litter choices. :) Our dogs don't eat anything with corn or wheat, so I'm also trying to keep them away from corn or wheat-based cat litters. :)
Go for wooden pellets, easy to clean, very absorbent, least tracking, flushable if cleaned regularly, keep cleaning the dust as suggested in the video, any dust (bio/non bio) can cause respiratory issues Also Separate the litter from box and wash/de-infect the same
You'll want to look for something that's dust-free. Pellets, like tofu or paper, might also be a good idea because they're a bit larger and less likely to mess with the incision area.
I personally don't use any of these :D I use Cat's Best Original litter, which is wood based clumping cat litter. It dusts a little and tracks a little, but a mat is enough to keep the tracking minimal. It has a woody scent to it, mut it keeps smells away and has a texture me and my cats like. I tried clay litter once and would personally never use it again :D But yeah. The litter I use is also eco friendly! Not an ad, but a recommendation for those who are looking for affordable cat litter. I buy it for 36€ for 40litres, so it's very good for my budget too ^^
I use clay litter for my cat like I don’t have enough money to be buying expensive litter sorry I’m not trying to harm my cat and my cat is overall happy
If you calculate how much and fast you go through clay litter plus time changing, it's worth it to pay the extra $ up front for something that lasts longer IMO
Our pricing starts as low as $21/ bag and you can save even more when you subscribe! A single bag usually lasts about a month for one cat and is 58% lighter than clay litter-so it’s easier to handle and manage! We also have a 30-day moneyback guarantee so you can try it out risk-free. 🙌
It seems to me from this video that pine pellets are the best if your cat will use them - none of the drawbacks listed are about the performance of the litter, just about the cat not tolerating it.
Our pellets are made primarily from soybean fiber. These pellets are also lighter and softer in comparison to traditional pellets, making it easier on your kitty’s toebeans. 🐾
My cat doesn’t need no cat litter he uses the toilet and even knows how to flush it after he’s done. I safe money and no need to worry about cat litter 😅
Clay litter is horrible for the environment and can also be the same for cats. It has been a widely known fact for some time now. But sure, go into denial just so you can pick the cheapest, worst thing for your cats. I bet you're also the type of person who uses plastic bowls for your pets just because they are cheap. 🤦♀️
@@AudreyC379 I use ceramic bowls for my cats and everyone in my household drinks water from a reverse osmosis water filter system that includes my pets. I feel like it is. They did a wonderful job transitioning from another brand cat littler to their that they made as well. At least they didn’t talk about theirs first 👍🏽
Misinformation? What misinformation? I hate when people say something like that and then don't explain what the heck they mean. Either don't say anything at all or actually explain what you're talking about. Personally, I think this is trolling.
Most people don't care where or how the cat litter is made, the only thing we care about is how good it works. So keep your environmental nonsense to yourself, yeah?

Clay is the best
Price aside, which is the best?
Id say tofu looks like the only "good" one

Allergies in cats are low, estimated at 1-10%. If you are concerned your kitty might have an allergy we always suggest consulting your vet prior!

Hi, I would like to ask what is the best litter to use after neutering the cat?
You'll want to look for something that's dust-free. Pellets, like tofu or paper, might also be a good idea because they're a bit larger and less likely to mess with the incision area.
I have a wobbly cat and litter is all over his face. What kind of litter you suggest?
what about pine pellets

Thanks for to recommendation. Will look into this one as well.
Wished they had Cat's Best Original Litter in the U.S. The closest place is Canada which would still make the product cost prohibitive. Sigh. :-(

Wood is cheaper typically
@@arisunderwood4413 I looked it up on stores it was expensive than the clay clay litter was like cheap
Check out Wood pellets at Tractor Supply stores.

What is the cleanest litter with little to no dust? I find with small kittens/cats they still spread and make alot of mess 😅
drop the name of that sifting litter box pls xoxo
Breeze Cat Pellet system
What do you mean by track?
An example would be litter that sticks to the cat's paw as they are stepping out of the litter box and it gets on the carpet/floors
Wood Pellet best its last longer than any other..Money safe permonth i can buy 3 packets enough
Wish they selled pellets in my country... :(
Clay little is better because it’s easier to clean
WHAT SHOULD US NORMAL PEOPLE THAT SHOP AT FAMILY DOLLAR GET??? 🧐🤔

Clump and seal arm& hammer . 🤷🏽♀️ i use that and clean my litter twice a day morning/night .

You do you! However, cat behaviorists usually recommend allowing cats to bury their waste since it’s part of their natural instinct. 🙂
Team wood pellets!
