My favorite part about Mario is that one of his first VAs was Peter Cullen on the Saturday Supercade.
I wonder if Jules has run out of Dry N Glide yet, or if he found somewhere he could get more.
Also, it's true, I knew a dude who I didn't subscribe to once on UA-cam, and then he died.
From what I heard, Charles Martinet was SO into the voice that he kept talking about making a pizza or something in the Mario voice until he was told to stop because they ran out of tape. I MIGHT be wrong, it's been ages since I heard about that.
That’s the story Martinet likes to share, yeah. Prefaced with how he went with a more typical rough and gruff Brooklyn accent until he was asked for something more friendly, to which he thought of his landlord growing up and how they spoke, and he caps it off by saying that them telling him they were out of tape and that they’d contact him was the “kiss of death”, that he thought he botched the audition.
Dry N Glide is a commercial product that you can easily buy on Amazon. I don't know if you can go buy it on a physical store, but it's not like it's a super secret formula that only few people have access to lol. So, I'm sure he could easily buy another package if he ran out of the one he used on the streams.
@@Alfonso162008 I just recall him saying that he got it from Jack in an earlier stream and I had a vague recollection of him saying that he needed to limit how much he used, which made me think that he didn't know how to get more.
@Rexaura88 Funny how it ties together, because from what I remember, Miyamoto says that Mario's design was based off of his landlord.

Can't wait to see Bomberman 64. One of my favorite games as a kid. (do not play 100%. Stage 6-2 is a NIGHTMARE to get 5 gold cards in)

Initially Martinet went with the rough and tough monster act too but was told to make it more friendly. Compared to everyone else he managed to nail that instruction apparently given that he’s been the voice for over half of Mario’s existence.
