Even though this film was more of a goofball comedy, it had a legit scariness and eeriness throughout the entire film. The soundtrack goes with this quite good as well.
@@calielwabalukAs it turns out her 'husband' wasn't all that great either. It's all but been proven he's a pedo who fled to Europe to escape the law. The only solace is he probably learned his lesson.
@@johnlewisbrooks But I believe Sharon was a true kind-hearted person. She touched me a lot by playing Sarah in this movie. I hope she is in a better place now, she deserves happiness and peace.
I'm 29 (born 1990) in a world with sparkly Twilight Vampires, this is what I grew up watching around Halloween as an elementary age kid. Millenials today have an interesting reputation among the GI Gen, Baby Boomers, and Gen X, but before the dawn of the 22nd Century we will be the last to remember the good Ole 19th.
I absolutely love this flick! From the music to the comedy and atmosphere! There’s parts where there’s no music or dialog, just facial expressions and actions which very smart for a 70s film, you can’t remake something like this, and if they do they will just ruin it
I agree with aboyintheband, the opening shot is brilliant, going from the multi- layered plate animation to the live background scene. You really have to watch it to see the transition.
Wow, Leo the MGM lion turned into a vampire, that is frightening, plus, I did watched this horror movie on TCM and the ending scared me the most when Sharon Tate puts the vampire bite on Roman Polanski's neck!!
the music is great but when I watched it on turner classic movies I was all stressed out because the professor was clumsy and his partner Alfred was being a chicken when he wanted to kill a vampire.

How can you not love this film. And Sharon Tate... damn if it wasn't for the manson killings, what a career she could've still had.
I find it ironic that in spite of being a comedy it is by far the movie that best captures the vampire atmosphere.
Easily one of the best opening credit sequences I've ever seen. It sets the mood perfectly.

I couldn't agree. This movie touched me a lot when I was little. For me was very hard to separate it's plot from what happened to Sharon. :/

The way the lion turned into a vampire in a UK version of this movie was unique and bloody.
Great opening soundtrack. Both haunting and foreboding, it sets the mood quite well for this very entertaining film.
Dark comedy vampire movie...very haunting music...it reminds me of a cold snowy frosty night every time I watch it...classic movie😊😊👍🏻
my favourite vampire/horror movie! still remember how scared and mesmerised i was watching it as a kid at night
+Vitaly Savicks Same here, Vitaly... After I saw Count Krolock getting into the bathroom through the window, I was even scared to bath alone... haha.
@@LordChaos80 worse for me, as I have a skylight above my bathtub like in the movie 😳

This intro is my soundtrack for the fall months.
One of the few movies that actually scared me when I was a kid. I always made sure to close
the windows and look behind the door before I went to bed.
same here.... and they said it's funny.... o.O
It's a funny film, but is vastly uneven. Not one koji better Polanski's movies.
Will always love this film ever since I saw it as kid one late Monday night. It's what a vampire film should be all about.
Masterpiece ! I love this movie.

I saw this movie late one night in 1970 when i was 10. Loved it! Classic.

Gosh, this soundtrack is so much better than that crappy musical!
I totally agree!
It's amazing i sing it everyday
Great movie...when I was young this always remind me of frosty cold nights and a full moon....but a great vampire movie...maybe the best
I love this sound track how its put together for the movie....sounds haunting
i first saw this movie on december 23 of 2008 and it still gives me chills to this day
Utterly brilliant..
This movie, as well as Herzog's Nosferatu have the scariest vampire movie soundtracks.
Good Soundtrack 👍
This gave me nightmares.
now it doesn't :D
@@RangoAnimations same here. Now it's amazingly epic
It would be quite weird movie to watch when you are a kid.
So atmospheric. They did it perfectly jus screams Transylvania all over. Jesus saves
This music is too joyful for a horror like this.

It may be noted that Wilfrid Shingleton and Douglas Slocombe did work for The Blue Max as well.
Bits of the theme sound like Original Sin by Pandora's Box (which was used in Tanz der Vampire)
