Her understanding of the position comes to her so easily that she barely needs to think. She burned off half her time looking around the room.
I'm pretty sure she is processing while looking around. Others are spinning a figure their hand or staring at the board and she does this. Might help her to visualize the situation by not looking at it too much. When she turns back to the board she usually immediately makes her move.
She's still thinking about the position while looking around.
@@Fusspilzsammler1 I don't know if she's processing while looking around. Focusing 2-3 steps ahead takes a lot of willpower. So kids look around because they can't (don't have the ability to) focus on the board. That part of the brain (the prefrontal cortex) doesn't fully develop until your mid 20s.
If she does make a move that's a few moves ahead, it's probably because she already faced a similar situation before. Most actions/decisions with children are based on instinct, a neural pathway solidified by practice. Notice how when she does focus. That's intentional. But it's limited. We each have a limited daily supply of "willpower" in our brain every day.

for someone so young to think so deeply, it's amazing
ela ganhou no tempo do adversario, ou seja, os 10 minutos!!!
I agree, however she needs to work on her handshake

Dos momentos alucinantes:

18:41 h2-h4 is typical Alisa's move. Bold, logical and effective. Chess is a game of tempo. That's the beauty of Chess. And Alisa demonstrate it really well.
@@Amiraldz Alisa wants to capture Black b4, but her White e3 pawn is vulnerable and can give Black a tempo move. So Alisa offer to sacrifice her h pawn instead, which is less dangerous.
Black denies and keep threatening the e3 pawn, but Alisa keep forcing with tempo move to cancel the threat.
Alisa is really good and really strong in such play. This one is simple and logical. But there are many examples of more complex and beautiful moves from her.
You know, the kind of moves that only after you saw it, it makes you smile in awe. Alisa is the future Chess Queen
I was very astonished when I saw her play this move at the subtlety and understanding for one so young. I think her coach also didn’t expect it!
yep. It confused him. With Qg3, Nf5. he panicked with Qc7. Qg4 would have given enough counter play.
she is using those Spidey senses lol 😁 well done Alice!
She's so cute. Remind me of my sister when we were young. Same hairstyle same everything. We used to play chess but without a clock the games would go into 2 hours. That's why I stopped didn't have the time. Alice is an assassin with bangs.😊

When you have a photogenic memory, you don't have to stare at something to figure it out constantly. She has that plus being a genuis helps.

Fascinating how little time Alice actually spends looking at the board, mostly brief, furtive glances, while her opponent stairs relentlessly at it, rarely taking his eyes off of it.
Also, how easily she clicks in and out of the game, at times, more tuned into the goings on of the room, and yet she manages her time almost lock step with her coach opponent until the end when it appears she had been playing him for awhile. Stunning!
I think she is tuned into the game even though she is not looking at the board. All the scenarios are being played out in her mind. She may be able to focus better on the future moves when not staring at the board.
I hope she does not burn out like so many chess greats have done.
Remember Nabokov's novel The Defense!
@@beecnul8r poor loozshin :(
Alice such a cute little angel 😇.
Bravo Alisa that was very sold play. My favorite move h4 sacrifice bait.
This was a brilliant idea that had a consideral amount of thought given to it by Alicia and repercussions where quite substantial if he took the bait.
Alicia is a remarkable player and she is improving solidly every time I watch her play.
I absolutely agree. H4 of course is a brilliant move. And later, a5! also, great and tricky move, bound with tactical idea taking the rook. Such moves suggest a great future for her.
She needs a Supergirl hoodie for New Years!!!
Bravo to LadySpider!
She's beating International Master Coach 2 times... I hope she's gonna be WGM soon...
Did he lose on purpose? As a chess coach, it would be a good motivational tool (as long as the kid doesn't suspect it was intentional).

Taking the black knight on e4 with the bishop to bring the untouchable knight to d6 was killing.
Alice has that rare ability to glance at a chess game and instantly grasp everything!
I wonder if she is a math prodigy as well. I bet she can play piano very well and create art.

What lovely people these little chess players are! And really show human nature at its best.
Very nice match. Congrats young lady !!!
Do you notice that the girl is very alike the twin tweedledee & tweedledum??
Her eyes, her expression, and the way she stare at her opponent, and also she never focus on the table even when it's her turn are the trade mark of the tweedledum & tweedledee.

2015 IM ? He declined a lot since he got the title . But I saw on tournaments GM who is playing now on 2200 level. He is nearly 70 y. o. and his goal nowadays is to get 65+ veteran special prize. Usually he gets it too . Even 50 euro prize is better than sitting in home and polishing his winner cups from 1980ies.
He got the title. In the most prestigious chess nation on earth. What have you got - other than stupid talk?
Je n'ai pas compris..qui a gagné ?

Well done Alice!
She fought hard over the pawn at E3.
Good battle.
The long think on a move like Qg3 sank his ship and i dont understand why after Nf5 he didn't play Qg4 i mean i understand why not Qg6 because of the fork but with Qg4 you are attacking the knight and after the knight moves or gets defended you can simply push b3 and have the bishop guard the pawn while you poke arround all the whites weak pawns with your queen.
.....недооценил соперницу! Печалька!

22:48 This is the coup de grace. He is already lost and she aims at the psychological aspect when taking the queen.
Great game, she knew what piece to keep.
I like the fact that Alice wryly pointed to her opponent's clock that read 000. He was not amused.....
