The barge is a really cool set, probably one of my favourite sets that I never owned. When including the skiff, it beat the original one from 2006 with ease.
I still can't believe I found a sealed one a couple of months ago for 180€ (and I finally completed the Return of the Jedi first act wave from 2012/2013). I wonder if we will ever see another bigfig like that one.
Nice one hachi, good find. I got it as gift for birthday, there was one in a toy shop (a year after it retired, not so populer back then I guess). Happy I have it now. I am just pissed I did not got the Sailbarge.
OMG i love this set and for years i thought my dog ate the luke skywalker fig and then you pointed at the place for luke to hide and i checked and my luke fig was there. Thanks for indirectly helping me find the fig.
@@chazworthingtonhunts I've spent a lot more on a lot worse so you're right! Whenever they resupply it on the site I'll get it. I just need to find the space lol
This happened to me way to much as a kid I was going to get the palace for my birthday but ended up getting the sarlacc Pitt but I have tried looking bad for the figures and could only get Luke back bobba fett is dead :((
I love the combining ability so you didn’t need to fork out so much for a single massive set. It makes it so much more accessible to everyone and let’s people build up to the whole thing one set at a time. I’d much rather see this continued than the master builders series or failed UCS Hoth set. Let’s hope they bring them back!
Yeah I got Jabba's Palace for Christmas and then this for my birthday the next year. No way my parents would have got the whole thing all at once back then.
The combination of the sets is great but sence the pit is underground it makes displaying this together with uther sets sort of limited. With the rancor making the pit short would be dificult but I think the pit should be as small as posible so the palace is not too high up. This set needs a remake maby for the Boba's palace.
The Lego Star Wars design team underwent changes in the 2013-2016 period. When the head designer saw that the Rancor could fit though his own door, they promtlly fired many people and replaced them with folks who didn't know a Clone Commander from a Clone Pilot.
The reason they seperate those large pieces in their own bag is so the pieces doesnt get scratched up or ruined when they’re together in such a tight space that people might be rough with
i ended up expanding the base of Jabba's palace to include the tower then expanded the pit to the same size. Looks really great. also still have a extra one of this set still in the box. Crazy how much the value has gone up.
Watch as lego puts a rancor in the geonosian arena, if they ever make it, because all people remember are some prisoners fighting monsters in a desert arena. All jokes aside I'm really happy you finally reviewed this set. I never got to own it but it always looked so cool to me. Two ways how I could see this set being remade are either being part of a master builder series jabba's palace, or as an 18+ set.
And because it’s an Original Trilogy set, they’ll probably just put Stormtroopers instead of Clones because all we really remember is some white troopers
I sincerely love the fact that after the 9516 Jabba's Palace set in the summer of 2012, LEGO then finally released a much needed Rancor Pit that we have wanted for almost ten years by that point. Not only that, they combine!
Hard to believe it’s been 9 years since this set. I love Episode VI and these sets are some of my favorites. Extra keys and secret compartments are definitely better than stud shooters and flick fire missiles. The $60 was steep to me back then but thanks to Target clearance it wasn’t a problem. M:Tron and Adventurers were themes I passed on originally that I liked a lot later
My sister in law found this set at a second hand store. It was missing instructions but all the parts and figures. I was thrilled to finally get the rancor and the extra gamorian I added to my Boba's palace. The tan pieces added to my colection and allowed me to add a upper room and roof to the palace. Sence I never had the Jaba's palace to fit in top of this set it was just good for parts and the figures.
Oh man, I bought this set when it first came out and have always had my Jabba's Palace sitting on top. Completely forgot most/all of the play features haha. This was educational for me.
Would love Lego to use the same concept they have for Hogwarts for Jabba/Boba’s palace. We could get the throne room, the bacta tank area etc… and combine them to have a massive actual palace in the end.
@@danielfostersdrawing4172 true, but it’s only gonna gain in popularity because off Book of Boba Fett. They’ve also kinda done this before with Jabba’s palace so who knows. It’s probably too cool for Lego to make tho

Just finished the newest episode of Book of Boba and was kinda disappointed that there was no Rancor in the pit. Hopefully Boba gets one before this season is over
I remember buying the Jabba palace set back in 2013 because there were articles going around at the time saying that the set was going to be pulled from shelves because people were offended of the design and saying it was racist against Muslims. So I went out and got it before they got pulled (which never happened) and then a few months later picked this one up because my OCD was telling me the build wasn’t complete. Random story I thought of as I was watching this review. Love the channel, keep up the great content

I still remember going to target to get this set for Christmas 2013 when I was 8 years old faun memories of building it Christmas day and putting it under Jabba's palace.
i remeber when my brother got jabbas place for his birthday and almost a year later the rancor pit for the holidays, and love how its displayed upstairs with the palace and my sail barge.
Malakili's weapon is supposed to be a Tusken gaffi stick. He got it in Legends for killing a giant womp rat that had taken over a Tusken clan's cave. Nice little reference. My biggest complaint with the set overall is that the gate can't open when Jabba's Palace is on top of it.
It seems that despite the advancements in brick design, they used to try harder in the past (excluding Hoth). But why can’t we get something like this today?
I hope they do a Master Builders Jabba's Palace I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I got this set purely for the Rancor and it's undoubtedly the best big fig ever made. However I have no intentions of getting the palace. While the combining feature is fun it's still difficult to properly acces every other features like the large door and for my taste the build has too many inaccuracies. (which is fine considering they're playsets but I just want more)
When I bought this set back in the day I got a somewhat defect Rancor so I got an extra one from Lego support. Now I see a complete rancor can fetch a pretty penny on bricklink. Maybe I will just order the arm that was defect and then sell my extra completed rancor ;)
This is like one of my dream sets, its just so unique for lego star wars, oh and cuz of the rancor!! BUT maybe with book of boba fett sets we get another rancor...

Definitely the 2020 Lukes Landspeeder
Clone and jedi battle pack 😂
Not good for building an army but good for cheap jedi minifigs
gozanti class cruiser. Seriously, try it its amazing
