You can tell this dog belongs to a groomer. Very well behaved & patient. He is beautiful! There is nothing like a freshly groomed dog, especially a Spoo!
I can’t believe I missed this cool grooming video of Indy. I love watching him. He's so gorgeous and funny! Hoping to put a few short videos of my parti Spoo on youTube one day. I'm inspired by you! Thanks.
Hi, thank you, I do have other videos, I have one with a Llasa cross, a cocker and a westie and some other mixed breeds. Go to my channel and you will see them. Thanks for watching. I will make more when it is slower at the shop.
back when I showed poodles, parti color wasn't recognized by the AKC. Is it now a recognized color? It's good to see a groomer who can shave the face and feet, not to mention being skilled with the scissors. Nice job.
You have transcended normal grooming excellence. What an achievement. How can I possibly book enough time. Or is this what we afford only "pod" members? In any case YOUR GROOM OF PARTY POODLE ... MAGNIFICIENT 1
HI, putting cotton in the ears is a good way to avoid water. You can put your hand in front of the opening while washing the ears. If she gets water in her ear, let her shake it out and use dry cotton or a cloth to wipe around the opening of the ear. She should be okay.
Hi, thanks for the nice comment and congratulations on your new toy poodle, I call this clip the lamb clip but other groomers may use another name. A puppy clip in usually one length all over, I use a shorter blade on the body and leave the legs longer using the scissors or a longer blade or plastic blade guard.
i have a toy poodle and his curls and mads so easily its not even funny its a nightmare in the summer and this heat is making him over heat and its worse he has black fur so thank you for the vid so i i can trim him down to make it somewhat easier on him
Thanks, he is a big boned poodle. lol he weighs more today than in the video, we have to exercise him more. It is hard to get out in the cold weather and very slippery.
love his hair he is a handsome beutiful dog.. love his name INDY .. Wee will be getting our pup this coming week he is a pup just like your same color and same marking spotted..
Hello, since he is a puppy, you can train him to behave for grooming. Clip his feet once a week and praise him when he is good, it is normal for puppies to pull away when you clip. Hopefully he will get used to it but there are some poodles that do this all their lives and I give them scissored feet.
Congratulations, are you getting a parti poodle? Make sure to make some videos and send them to me. Thanks for watching and thanks for the nice compliment.
Thank you. My black poodle and parti poodles are no longer breeding and Oasis came from Cantope Poodles, google there name and you will find them. Thanks for watching my video.
Interesting that you wore ear protection while you were using the HV dryer, but Indy's ears were not protected. We use a "happy hoodie" for our Standard poodle: it muffles the sound so that it's not so scary for him, plus it's absorbent, so less drying needed on the head and ears.
The reason I wore ear protection is that I have to listen to the dryer everyday for 8 hours and I have a problem with a tube in my ear. Indy only has to listen for an half hour. I do use ear muffs for dogs that is bothered by the noise
You have beautiful dogs. I have a standard and I am trying to learn how to groom her without making her look too silly. I like the longer coat all over. I am trying to avoid too many visits to a professional groomer. Any tips?
There are so many tops, not enough time for me to write them. Get some dvds on grooming poodles and the right tools. Make sure you brush at least once a week to avoid mats if you want to have a long coat.
you did a great job. I have a few questions. I have a 11 week old standard poodle. When do people usually get the first hair cut? (He was trimmed at 7 weeks by the breeder)... but im thinking he'll need another trim in about 3/4 weeks. Also what do you consider a fair price for a 4 month old puppy. I have talked to a few places and got quotes from 35-100$ (which seems like a huge stretch)
Hi, your puppy should be groomed as often as you can, so he can get used to it.Every 4 to 6 weeks is the normal time range. Depending on where you live price will vary. Usually very good groomers charge a higher price for there time and experience. The price would depend on the type of coat, type of clip, condition of coat, length of coat, temperament of dog, how long between groomings, the size of the dog, and so on. Puppies are usually time consuming, they have to be trained to stand on the table and have to get used to the sounds and feeling of the equipment. I charge $100.00 and up for adult poodles, a 4 month old would start at $70.00 and up. I think $35.00 is on the low side, what would that include? Be careful in who you choose for your groomer, make sure they groom many poodles and actually like them, I have know groomers that hate poodles and do a horrible grooming job just to finish the work.
I myself groom my own poodle too:) I am going to try the continential cleip on her when her hair grows out, I have a miniture:) she is black, I loved the way he was at the tub waiting for a bath he must enjoy them, how do you keeo water from getting in his ears, no matter what I try on mine she always seems to get water in hers, I have tried holding the ears closed, putting cotten in the ears but somehow water still gets in the ears... help please thanks.
Hi, the hair on the ears will have to grow, never clip the ears or the hair will stick up. How old is your poodle? It make take up until 2 years to grow a nice length. Also while blow drying the ears, brush them at the same time, that should help.
This is how I cut my toy poodles hair too. but his ears are cut shorter, cant stand hair that long on a poodle, also he gets really bad ear infections too. so I like to keep them short and layered up.
I groom my own poodle. He's a six month old standard. The only problem he really has with grooming is his legs/feet. He pulls them away whenever I try to clip them so it's very hard to do and I usually need someone else there to help me hold him on the table. Is this a common problem in puppies that he will grow out of or should I be concerned that he will do it for the rest of his life whenever I try to groom him? It's very frustrating because I like clean feet but can never get them.
How do you get your poodles hair fluffy? I have a 6 year old toy poodle. She is not that fluffy even when I brush her. She doesn't like the clippers when I shave her feet or face either. She looks retarded right now because her face has long hair around it and same with her feet. How do I get her used to it?
I brush and blowdry at the same time. Some poodles coats are more thicker and course then others. Try clipping her every week and praise her when she is good, take your time and give good treats to get the job done. There is some product out there that helps with the coat to make it stand up.
Hi, this video would of taking hours so I sped it up, its basically to watch and not really a instruction video, if you want to learn check out my new Grooming channel ua-cam.com/users/LoveofGrooming I upload videos weekly.
Thanks for the complement but he is not obese. He is heavy boned. He may be a little overweight as he has had double hip dysplasia surgery and can not run very long or walk long. He also has thyroid issues. My other two dogs are healthy weight and they all eat the same amount of food. I appreciate your concern but he is fine. Parti colored poodles are much more bigger boned and stocky compared to the show type poodles.
You can tell this dog belongs to a groomer. Very well behaved & patient. He is beautiful! There is nothing like a freshly groomed dog, especially a Spoo!
Indy was such a beautiful poodle. So sad he is gone.

I love the way you made this video! can you make more like this but with other breeds! its very to the point and fast. loved it!
I usually use a 3F blade, but can't remember what I used in this video. Thanks for watching.

Loveofpets Is Indy in the sporting clip?
Hi, I usually use groomers edge shampoo, but have started using Iv San Bernard, it is the best product.
Hi, Indy weighs around 63 pounds, thanks for watching.
Your welcome, it is best to keep them short in the summer,I just groomed my poodles shorter than in this video.
You did a great job! Is he a little overweight?

Thanks yes im so exited😍
Hi, Partis are hard to find. Your Barbie is very beautiful, my two males would love her.
@tweety0bird8 Hi, it really depends on the poodles coat, some grow faster than others, but I would a few months. Thanks for watching.
Indy takes about 2 hours or more. Thanks for watching.
such a beautiful job you did but the dog must be stressed out or do they get used to this?
Thank You

Yes I will do that as soon as possible. My dogs need a bath soon.
Beautiful Video - could you tell me what guard comb you are using?
Congratulations, are you getting a parti poodle? Make sure to make some videos and send them to me. Thanks for watching and thanks for the nice compliment.
Thank you. My black poodle and parti poodles are no longer breeding and Oasis came from Cantope Poodles, google there name and you will find them. Thanks for watching my video.
Hi, it took me about 2 hours in real time.
I can not wait to get my standard poodle.
nice job!! how long did it actually take??

Great vid! So, how long did it take to groom Indy in real time?
Hi, any professional clipper is fine for a poodle, make sure you get all different size blades so you can leave the hair longer or shorter.
awesome:)

=D yay thanks for the reply!
I have an 8 weeks Standard Poodle. How do you train them to be compliant with the groomer?

Good groomer but I have never seen such an obese poodle 😰😰
He is highly overweight whether your dog or a clients I would highly recommend a diet
Thanks for the complement but he is not obese. He is heavy boned. He may be a little overweight as he has had double hip dysplasia surgery and can not run very long or walk long.
