- Nanny was royalty in our lives and on this channel. She came to the ranch as a rescue in 2006. She educated all the dogs, cats and friendly wildlife, and even humans for over 15 years. She truly was wise beyond us all. A master of all her subjects.
There were no bad days for Nanny, her elegance, calmness, fearless character and deep presence were noticed by everyone.
In her later years she became very well-traveled and even more vastly experienced. She spent her winters in the warmer sunnier climes of California, and also explored the Pacific NorthWest in her last few months.
There was something ethereal about her presence, something very magical in her ability to lend some wisdom to every activity which she insisted on participating in. If Nanny wanted something, she communicated it so clearly to humans and animals alike.
In May of 2022, she was diagnosed with an esophageal stricture, this had been causing vomiting and nausea, she had a major procedure to correct it and then months of recovery and healing. She got through it and had what we thought was a good recovery, although there were some signs that our girl wasn’t fully feeling 100%.
She was getting a little older, slowing down a bit, sleeping a lot. But she still had her priorities: playtime, grooming time, going to work with me, riding in the little car, supervising all projects, inspecting all work, demanding to be fed, she even had a few weeks of eating some of her favorite foods, after months of a liquid-only diet. She never had an off day, always active, and insisted on her daily duties and routine until the very end.
We took her for a check up at the end of September. When they took a blood draw, she suddenly went into cardiac arrest and was gone in seconds.
In the end, what was extremely traumatic for us to witness, was actually comparatively easy on her. After everything she had been through, she took any decision making out of our hands, as clearly she had had enough. We could never have let her go.
Losing her from our lives has been a great shock. We still feel her spiritual presence around us wherever we are, but her sublime companionship, glorious beauty and general furry magnificence will be sorely missed forever.
The relationship between myself and Nanny was a once-in-a-lifetime bond.
She is immortal in our memories, photos, videos and calendars. We feel so privileged to have had such a special girl touch our lives.

Eleven months now, and I still come back to view this video from time to time. Nanny, something about her that stayed with me. Was it her beauty, her grace, her joy? All I know is that she was a marvelous being, and I hope and pray that God, who values all that is good, preserves her in some place beyond our senses and intellect, and that one day you will find her waiting for you, and that we who were her fans can once again enjoy viewing the love that you two shared.
Nanny had one of the most beautiful souls. Truly an exceptional being. She and Darius had a bond and level of understanding that was extraordinary. I too miss her.

Sir, my deepest condolences to you. We lost our beloved male Himalayan Siamese cat to aggressive cancer, I raised Snoopy as a 3 month old bottle baby, had to euthanize sweet, gentle, beautiful Snoopy on Thursday (2-16-23). I am still emotionally devastated. I know you miss your gorgeous, sweet cat, Nanny, bereavement takes a very long, long time. R.I.P. beautiful, sweet Nanny. I had been extremely busy and I was not watching UA-cam. Nanny was a truly special cat--and even though she was an independent lady--she looked happiest when she was with you--helping out, standing guard, supervising, riding in the golf cart--and just being with you. Thank you for sharing so much of her with us ♥

I love my Rescue Maine Coon as I loved Nanny. The cats have always been so similar to me. I 😢 hard when I saw she had passed. My cat is 14 years old and has had some recent health problems. I don’t know if I will be able to stand it if she passes. She is to me my child given to me by God to take care of as long as I am able to do. I am old too and she has always been there for me when I cried or laughed. I thank God for the Nannies in this world. ❤

I am not ashamed to say I cried while watching this video, but also smiled at its tribute to the illustrious Nanny. I ordered a calendar and will enjoy each picture. I have my own sweet feline babies and know the pain of losing one; I am sorry for your profound loss.

I lost my cat bongo to cancer on the same day you lost your nanny. Bongo helped me thru my grieving when I unexpectedly lost my husband in 2011. Bongo was 13 years old. I adopted him from a shelter when he was about a year old. He was a grey domestic short hair with a jelly roll marking on his side & large bright green eyes 🐈 🐈⬛

My boy, Smudge, is in 🌈 bridge last year. Nanny must be his good friend now. Lots of furry angels are there, and most importantly they're healthy and happy. Open your heart to allow another kitty. She will help fill that hole, leaving a wonderful scar for Nanny.
I am deeply saddened to see you lost Nanny. She was simply amazing to say the very least. I believe she was the most photogenic feline on the planet as well as completely involved in the daily Ranch activities. She had many furry friends, horses, birds, deer, elk and dogs to name a few. She was gorgeous and her fur was extraordinary, blowing in the wind while riding on the 4x4 or sitting on a post with the sun and a light breeze wafting through the Valley. I will always remember her. She impacted my life with her intelligence and her interests which were endless . . . She led a stellar life . . . Bless you all.

I just found this out and I am so sad. I lost one of my Bengal babies to heart failure in front of my eyes a couple of years ago and I am still recovering. He is buried in my woods under a stone to keep him near.
I hadn't realized Nanny has passed. I'm truly sorry for the way she passed. I can understand why it was a shock. I lost my Sugar girl down in September due to an acute problem with her heart. Out of nowhere she had difficulty breathing so I rushed her to the emergency hospital for animals. Within minutes she was gone. She was a rescue and aparently her heart problem came from a bad life early on. I miss her so much as I'm sure you miss your beautiful Nanny. ♡ 🙏

Oh Nanny was soooo BEAUTIFUL and you were such a fantastic Daddy! We lost two of our favourite cats as well one was nineteen and our most favourite was 16 years. Broke our hearts and I still haven’t fully recovered.

When I noticed the title, I was hoping that my eyes were deceiving me. I am so sorry for the loss of such a precious cat, who came into your life, and made life seem so endless with happiness.
I had watched all the videos that you posted, and was always in awe at how Nanny had traveled such a long distance to find the right companion - that companion was you.
You are a special human being, and Nanny knew just how special you are; she kept close to the one she chose, and you made her as special as you were to her. Together you were a great team.
I know that no matter where you are in life, she will always be beside you, enjoying that special human who gave her happiness throughout her years.

Darius, as I watched the video, through the tears, I remembered one video in particular. You decided she needed a mouse to play with and went about making her one. She was one lucky girl to live a life that many people would have loved to have. Living by Yellowstone with all of the furry visitors that came to the ranch. RIP sweet Nanny, she will send another kitty to you to keep you company. I know this is so hard for you, as it is to everyone that loses a fur baby.
