Me too!! He might as well took a propane torch and pry bar to open!! If that don't work step on it and they will open then. If that don't work throw across room. Then send back for a refund. Damaged during shipping!! Damn darn it Jesus Why am j so stupid just take my time and they'll open!!!!😭😭😭😭

No there's a rather stupid and ignorant anti-confederate thing going on, the last few years and the rebel flag is considered part of that.
People claiming that showing the rebel flag is somehow racist and they've caused the show being pulled from TV broadcast/streaming. Model kits no longer showing the flag on the box, or even the build-sheet...
This is so they can still put the model on display in the shops, without running the risk of someone getting "traumatized" by a side glance of said "offending" imagery!
Sad but true... unfortunately...
I've had this model for about five years and I was able to pull the doors open on the first try without prying on them. I don't think mine had a lot of glue applied to it the first time from the factory.

Technically these were mistakes in The Dukes of Hazzard where the doors on the General Lee accidentally did open but you were right the doors never did open because they were welded shut like an NASCAR
The designer contacted me and he said the managers wanted the doors closed
But the designers did not agree and said it would be more fun to open them. So sadly they needed to put some glue on the doord

Thank you for the video. I have the same model and it came with the doors glued as well. I left them like that. This model is by far, the best General Lee representation ever made. I have another 1/18 from ERTL and it is a toy compared with this. By the way, the headlights can be turned to hide them. Greetings from Colombia.

First of all the doors were welded shut in the show like nascars it hurts too see you just chip off the paint those go for alot of money these days low I have seen them go for about 300 or 290 it Hurst me to see you just use a tool to open the door

There are more gentle ways how to open the door. If you don't want to ruin the paint around, you would at least use a towel around the screwdriver...lol

My girl Freinds gap is tight too!! So I took some lubricant and sprayed now it opens right up! Let the sunshine in! Damn it!!! It was fun when she was tight! Any other ideas just request my advice and I'll gladly help!

@@AlbertPendergraff-rp7jp They are glued from factory so they dont open like the tv show car, not menat to be openes, trying to open you will ruind the paint as the glue will pull off paint.
FAST FACT: The General Lee's doors do not open, they are literally welded shut so they don't pop open when landing from a jump. Watch the show please.

I think you should of heated the door up first with a propane torch then used a pry bar . If that doesn't work throw it across the room. Maybe they will open then. Another idea step on the roof and then put back in box and ask for a refund!!! But first go to local hobby lobby and buy some orange paint to touch up! Good luck next time ask me for some advise first!!!

don’t blame the guy blame the company who was too lazy to add a sticker to the box “doors don’t open !!!” btw i have seen many on ebay autoworld with sellers having the doors open so wtf is going on if i was to buy one how would I know if the seller didn’t mess with the doors ?

I just used my hands to open the doors. Way easier to do. 😄

Whyyyyy!! I’m cringing. Any model general lee made by almost any brand does not have opening doors it’s original to the show. If you actually disassemble the car you will find Inserts intentionally placed in the door jambs to keep the doors close however they are removable if you for some reason choose to have a general with opening doors.

thanks for showing the box didn't lie but at the same time why use a knife on paint their not very strong tools when used as a pry bar. otherwise nice vid thanks for showing the car

The doors are glued shut with CA glue not meant to be opened like the tv show, you basically ruined a nice and rare diecast.
Why? I can always glue it back
