What a lovely vlog, Kristin!! Love all the things … gorgeous quilt and shawl and love the beading deep dive and beautifully stitched earrings and bracelets; and, the crab is fun! 🤩 Thank you for sharing and inspiring!!

I love the quilt top! It's absolutely gorgeous. All that bead work makes me want to dig out my bead stash and start playing. 🤣

I love that you use luxury yarns and budget yarns and speak honestly about them. I've been shouting for the rooftops about Kroy and Regia for decades. I have Kroy and Regia knit socks from 2003 still :) they just get better with age. you can't beat the value, but a lot of people avoid these workhorse sock yarns for some reason!

Oh nooo! Beading??? I'm falling. It's beautiful. I love it. Also, I gotta crochet a shawl. There's this scrappy crochet shawl pattern banging around somewhere that I'm making someday. xoxo

My patterns have charts! I'm a visual/chart person too - that's how I take pattern notes when I'm designing too.

Love all of your projects, Kristin! The segment on beading was interesting, which leads me to ask whether you've ever tried needle or shuttle tatting? That can include beads as well, and makes some lovely jewelry pieces. Another rabbit hole, unfortunately!

Yay! Peyote Beading. This was my craft of choice as a teenager. My big hot tip, use an antique deviled egg tray. It’s a beautiful way to display your beads and tray up your project!
Maybe I’ll join you in a project ❤

Thanks so much, Roshelle! Hah!! Wavy swoop bangs are courtesy of going to bed with wet hair in a hairnet. It's my latest hack for attempting to deal with my super fine/thin hair. Otherwise, I wake up with a frizzy bird nest. #MakeItWork 🥴😂

    Happy Anniversary!
Something that will help with getting tight stitches when making Amigurumi is to use the yarn under sc method.
    Your shawl is *STUNNING*!!!!
I've been wanting to make some crocheted bracelets with beads lately

Also, a peyote stitch in the round is really fun for “medicine bag” pouch necklaces!

i bought Truboo from LionBrand. in the beginning i had the same problems as you had. lots of frustration because i bought so many colors to make a sofa throw. after quite awhile (maybe a month) it behaved or i figured it out. i still have a problem occasionally, but the frustration is gone. great sheen, beautiful results. try bamboo and be prepared to ......

Omg I just have to say you blocked the shawl BEAUTIFULLY!!! I gasped when I saw how much it grew and draped and how crisp the stitches were! It’s stunning!!!
And so is the quilt! I gasped at that too lol 😂 the colors are amazing and suit the pattern so well!!

I live by the Reservation in Wyoming and the bead work they do is just stunning…I tried it once and it is a whole lot of fun!!! I’m a knitter but also a long time quilter….If I may suggest, make sure you change your needle often on your machine when working with batiks…it’s such a tight weave…the sharper the needle the better, especially when you do the quilting…..BTW, love the quilt!!

The crème brûlée quilt I totally get crème brûlée from that. I like it very much ma’am. I think you’re doing a great job.. the splitting yarn that you used for your crab, 🦀 perhaps a different crochet hook. I prefer Susan Bates because they do make a better tip. I get less splitting from that I always have. I’ve been been crocheting since I was five and I’m 53.. knitting is really my favorite for most things. If I’m doing a blanket, I do prefer crochet because it is much faster.. I have so many quilt tops made that I need to get quilted goodness gracious. I do try to do all of mine myself because sending them out is risky unless I can take them and deliver them myself.. I have thought of purchasing a long arm sewing machine for myself though. Maybe find a nice used one. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s always a pleasure to see when you put up a new video thank you

I COMPLETELY understand your lack of love for batik fabric. I used it in 2 quilts and then never again. I just can't enjoy sewing with it even though I love the look of it. And those socks!!!😮..... they look so comfy cozy.....I guess I need to make a trip to Michaels😊 Happy making Kristen ❤

Tell me about it. I love the watercolor look of Batiks, too. There's got to be a better way! 😩 Maybe if I size down the sewing needle, it will be a smoother ride. I shall give it a go and report back 😆

I recently took a long flight, 8 hours, expecting to get a lot of knitting done but I felt the same way - I was crammed into a seat and didn't feel comfortable taking out my knitting. No room!

Being that I just made my 1st non-granny stripe project, I feel I am a newer crocheter. I am going to learn more about hook shape and use, thank you! I didn't realize there were actual shape factors to the heads!

Kristin, if you ever knit with that yarn, use wooden knitting needles, it’s so slippery and splits, it was a nightmare trying to knit with regular steel needles!!!!!
