It’s more than OK to have a break ❤ Finland it’s normal for people to have long a summer vacation and be off from work four weeks straight. As the summer is so short here it’s really great to be able to enjoy the season and spend time with family and friends. YT is your work and it’s important to take time off ❤
I love that you do all the crafts!! I love so many - crochet, friendship bracelets, beaded jewelry, weaving, ceramics, kusudama origami, embroidery, sashiko, and just started learning knitting... so fun finding a channel that shows multiple crafts!!
I am so glad you are taking some time for yourself! ENJOY EVERY MOMENT! We will be here when you are back and rebooted! :)
Well said. Everyone needs a break now and again. Rest well.
Enjoyed this so much! You will be missed, but enjoy your summer and I look forward to seeing what you've been up to when you get back!
It’s great to take a break, as a matter of fact this made me subscribe to your channel you seem very wholesome and so far I’ve seen a couple of your videos.
It is Amazing how long you have been podcasting. Good for you to acknowledge you need a break! Have an enjoyable break. See you back refreshed and inspired to make new projects.
Crazy how the time flies!! Thanks so much Connie. 💖
for your cotton bag - have you seen the trick to use a left needle 1 size smaller than the right needle? will need to swap to interchangeables but you keep gauge because of the right hand needle. there is a bit more slack when you go to knit the stitches off the left hand needle which may help the struggle to get under those stitches without a stretch in the yarn! just a thought 🥰
Have a great break. You deserve it. See you when you return. Love the crochet blanket. ❤. The Furls hooks don’t work for me either. I just use the Clover grip ones. They work so well for my crochet style. I have tried so many myself. Tools are so important for sure.
Oh I just did antique flora with some hand spun and the Elenor one is next on my list 😍
For me its Clover Amour crochet hooks all the way... not pretty but they are lovely to work with and have not failed me yet! Ordering another set today actually since I always misplace them haha.
Hi Kristin, Im Julie from beautiful Florida. My friend Ada totally loves your podcast and now I am also a huge fan..LOL
Its good you are taking a break, you need to do it and you definitely deserve it!! Enjoy your break, looking forward to your return with lovely projects to share....enjoy your time away from UA-cam, see you when you get back. Take your time, enjoy the peace and quiet!! See you soon lovely, have a great summer!!!xx
i used to do chain maille, and I learned how to do bezels with that. it really is quite satisfying.
Chain Maille is SO cool!! Would love to try it someday 😄
@@Voolenvine it can be pretty addicting. I may or may not have a few too many Byzantine bracelets
Enjoy your break. Will look forward to seeing you in September
Kristin, I hope you have a great break! Looking forward to your return and all the projects you’ll have to show us. ❤️
I, too, am a glutton for half-square triangles. 🙋♀️ There’s a computer program called Triangulations that you might be interested in; Fat Quarter Shop sells it. You print sheets of paper that have sewing lines and cutting lines (it’s kind of like paper-piecing but SO much easier, you don’t have to guess what shape to cut). Cut two fabrics into 8.5”x11” pieces to match the paper, and put right sides together; put the paper on top and sew on the dashed sewing lines; after they’re sewn cut on the solid cutting lines; and then all you have to do is iron the half-square triangles, no truing up required! It’s great for when you need a lot of the same-colored half-square triangles, especially small ones. I don’t know if my explanation made sense, but it really is a great program, so I hope you’ll look into it. ❤️
Thanks so much, Katie - AND for the software recommendation!! Still trying to wrap my brain around EQ8 but the more quilty tech, the merrier! 😂 Excited to check out Triangulations - it sounds super helpful.
Self care is vital I am so happy you are acknowledging your needs.See you when you are refreshed and recharged.
Awesome you’re taking a break! Everyone needs that!! Enjoy your me time!
I have one of the Furls hooks that is metal hook and the lacquered black handle - it is beautiful BUT it is SO HEAVY! I can’t use it for LONG stretches of crocheting but I still use it every now-n-then because I do love it when I use it. Have a wonderful break!
Thanks so much. Oof, I could see how using a heavy hook could get tiresome. Furls: Decorative Fiber Art or Crochet/Dumbell Hybrid Workout? 😂🤷🏻♀
Kristin, I adore you and all of your making! Have a relaxing summer!
Aww, Thank you so much, Deb! 🥰🥰🥰 You , as well!
I vote for the sweater in your own yarn. We’ll miss you but we all deserve a break. Have a wonderful summer. Diane from Boston
Thanks so much, Diane! 🤗💖 Hope you're having a great summer, as well!!
Have a lovely break 🖤🐈⬛
Gothic Raven Feather earrings... Kristin. I almost dropped the can of paint in my hands. Those are gorgeous. You are on 🔥. Have a wonderful replenishing summer. 🤗
Thanks so much Tania! 🤗 Ooh! What are you painting?? It seems like you're always up to some fantastical DIY 😋🙌
@@Voolenvine We have been in our home well over a year. We haven't done a thing to it, so, starting with repainting the decks, rails, power washing the logs, painting trims... you know, house crafts 🫣 😂
@@theLogstead I prefer the term "House Crafts" to "Home Improvement" 😂 I bet it looks amazing!!
Enjoy your summer break!!
Have a great summer! I like plain metal crochet hooks, back 50+ years ago that was all we had. I have some big fat plastic crochet hooks for really thick yarn.
Thank you, Ilene! I love those, too - especially for crocheting smaller/finer things like doilies 😄
I'm using Red Heart Classic Crochet Thread Size 10 for my epic mal project. I get it from my local walmart but it's available online from several places. It's the softest size 10 cotton thread from the big manufacturers in my opinion. The 1000 yard balls only come in two colors, white and ecru; but that's what dye is for.
Have a wonderful summer!
Enjoy your summer Kristin! About the throw, maybe just rotate it and us these 250 st as the high side and make the width whatever number of rows you need to end with good size throw blanket?!
Thank you, Alek! Great idea!! I thought of it, but I actually don't mind going the distance with this blanket 😅
Enjoy your break. You’ll be missed. Also no need to apologize for showing all the cool projects. I am loving your beading. I want to try but looks intimidating.
Have a great summer
Aww, thanks so much, Julie 🥰 Beadweaving isn't as scary as it seems. As will learning all new things... one step at a time. Breaking it down into small bits. And all that jazz! 😉
Have a great summer. Summertime is too short. See you in September. ❤
Thank you! It really is!! 😅
Enjoy your break Kristin!! Love your beading!!!
Have a restful hiatus, Kristin! I will look forward to seeing all of the projects that you undertake from now until September! I am intrigued by your bead-weaving...you may have started something.
Thanks so much, Debra. I hope you're staying cool!! I'm intrigued to see where all this bead weaving goes as well 😄
Felicia at Pick Up Every Stitch has both the linings and leather handles for the Petite Knit bag! Love yours!
Ooh! Thanks for letting me know!! I'm long overdue for a visit there 😄
Enjoy your summer break!
Thank you, Liz!
Have a restful August. See you in the fall.💙
Have a great summer holiday!
It should be common sense for creators to take a yearly vacation to recharge like everybode else! I'd rather 'miss' someone's content for a couple of months, than watch them slowly burn out. I hope others follow your example 😊
Thank you, Polly! Agree 💯%!! Algorithm, schmalgorithm.
Beautiful earrings Kristin, have a lovely summer hiatus.💜
Thank you, Gillian!
Your quilted pillow looks wonderful. Unfortunately, I have a beautiful Furls crochet hook that I do not use. ☹️ Enjoy your break! 🖤 Margot is looking great with her shawls. 🧶 Great job on your earrings!
Thanks so much, Roshelle! 🤗 Ah, Furls... At this point, I've accepted they may as well just be as useful as Fiber Arts Decor 😂
❤LOVE YOUR PILLOW🎉
Thank you, Doreen!! 💖
It's me, it's me! My Antique Flora! Mara (rhymes with Clara). Yay! A Ravelry friend reached out and mentioned this so I had to run over and see! Squee! You didn't mention your gorgeous Wolke in Grimm and (my favorite!) Courtesan that I used to make it!
Mara!! So sorry I didn't remember your name. 🙈 I'm usually flying by the seat of my pants when I record 😂SUCH a stunning sweater!! I had to shout you out 💖
Love that market bag! If anyone is looking for an equivalent to that thread, Hobbii has something I think might be similar called Glitter Deluxe. You know Kristin, you could rip back that crocheted blanket and start over if you wanted a throw. That would be significantly faster😅. I’ve definitely done that in the past ❤
Ooh, thanks for sharing an alternative yarn! I wish I knew about it sooner. As for the blanket, eh ... I don't mind going the distance with it. 😆
You had already started it and had ordered more thread, you’re just too quick for me 😂
I hope you enjoy your break with some roller skating!
Thank you, Valerie! Oh my goodness, I miss skating so much!! I still need to scout out a descent place to practice. It's been too long!
Have a great break Kristin!!! Do you have the link for your crochet hooks. I also get hand pain from crochet. I have made that antique flora and I think that pattern needs some revisiting for sleeves and gauge, ihmo. Have fun, get some rest, All the best, Kimberly
Thank you, Kimberly!! 🤗 Ahh, totally forgot to link them. amzn.to/3Wl4CEg And thanks for the heads-up about Antique Flora. I actually cast on the Lunar Embrace 🙈 Hope you're having a fun/restful summer! 💖
For the record: I knit the Antique Flora (featured here!) in Wolke, so fingering and NOT the worsted called for. I guess I figured 24/4 inches wasn't that crazy for a fingering, and seemed like a lot of stitches for a worsted. I may have had a slightly tighter gauge because I did somewhere between a 48 and 52 inch bust and it looks pretty fitted so minimal ease on my 48" bust. Also I wanted to make sure I had enough ease in the sleeves so I just cast on more stitches...not thinking about all the colorwork that is under the sleeve, with differences in the pattern for each size. So I charted my own underarm pattern to accommodate the extra stitches I cast on.
@@marapowell8659 I wrote a whole thing on it on my Ravelry too about my experience with that pattern. I used mainly the right size (worsted and heavier dk) but found their sleeves to be too tight which is why I thought many people opted for a shorter sleeve. I admire your work for recharting. I didn't have it in me at the time. In order for me to make sleeves fit, I would have also needed to re-chart. Yours looks lovely! - Kimberly
Have an awesome break!
Thanks, Sarianne!!
When you said: I have small lady hands, I don't now why but it sounded so sweet. And your nailpolish is exactly the same colour as a Revlon lipstick I used back in the late 80's. I was so " obsessed" with that colour 😁 It's a gorgeous one. Die for your jewellry designs...oh oh ooohh my Lord for the gothic earrings especially. Have a nice holiday Kristin. See you in September. 🖤🦋🖤 Psst: A rose is a rouge - lipstick name. What's your nailpolish ?
Thank you so much! 🥰 Ugh! This color is everything!! it's Essie's "Ferris Of Them All" - a mauve with a subtle gold shimmer amzn.to/3xWPL9S Now I must find that lipstick! 😆
Kristin - love the French market bag! Also, what nail polish are you wearing? It’s beautiful ❤
Also, enjoy the summer break!
Thank you so much! It's Essie's "Ferris Of Them All" amzn.to/3xWPL9S 💅🏻💖
I live in NJ and would love to do shopping if you need any more yarn, Linda
Aww thank you so much for the generous offer, Linda. 💖 Yarn has already been ordered. But I truly appreciate it!!
Wait!! I need the ruler and lazy Susan you used to cut your half square triangles. Where can I find them?
Does anyone know?
Thank you ❤
It's a rotating cutting may by Sue Daly. I LOVE mine!! 🤗 amzn.to/4bEslUl
@@Voolenvine thank you ❤️
I have a resin furls hook and its definitely not my favorite... i tend to reach more for susan bates hooks haha.
Same!! Can't go wrong with Ms. Bates ;)
❤
