- A luxury sedan with a Kia badge? Meet the second-generation flagship Kia K900, an objectively luxurious four-door option from the folks in Korea. But how do the details stack up? Kelley Blue Book's Micah Muzio goes through them one by one and explains why.
For the latest Kia K900 pricing and information:

Could be the most under rated car for 2018/2019.
I see the Kia Cadenza around on occasion. The k900 is a forgotten model at least in my view. My local Kia dealer doesn’t even have a license to sell new or used k900 models due to low sales likely due to being forgotten about by consumers
@Dinuka Wimalagunasekara he just did and in his opinion, its one underrated car
I would rather a continental
I’ve had the Benz, Volvo, badge cars. Just test drove it , completed paperwork, bought the VIP option and put a deposit down. Pick it up on Monday. Can’t wait. I’m at the stage of life now where I place VALUE on LUXURY. The warranty is best across the board. 👍🏻
Enjoy it Rob.Best of Luck
Good for you! ;
Randy you assume he’s European. German or Swedish.

@japanwatchconnection All luxury cars have high depreciation
Kia/Hyundai have been killing it lately.
The G70 CotY. Kona, best subcompact crossover on Car and Driver and KBB. Veloster N, KBB best hatch. The new Forte and Cadenza are ranked among the highest on Edmunds. Santa Fey, Stinger, K900 are hot buys too. The Palisade and Kia Telluride look promising as well.
Michael Rafael still love my Optima even though it’s always towards the bottom of midsize rankings
@@ShivNC Had an 04 Optima EX for 6 years. Good car. People always mistook it for an older Mercedes.
Korean quality has improved heck of a lot! They used to be cheapo depot low quality but now their later model cars have great build quality while many opposing manufacturers are going down in quality. I have a 2014 Kia Optima lx with 103K miles still runs and rides smooth feeling like a Cadillac
Not to mention their upcoming EVs
I currently have a Lexus GS and although I love it to pieces, I can’t help myself from looking at the G80 Sport with envy (huge power difference, pano moon roof, rear seat climate controls with sport package, AppleCarply)👀
I’m going to stay with the Lexus Brand, but I am not ashamed to admit Genesis can produce superior products G70 vs IS (etc) and is a serious force to be reckoned with.
whoever's been running the show over at Kia these past few years has been earning their paycheck.
nknasi You not lien the car is beautiful
@Daniel Hernandez Go for Genesis GV80 instead, such amazing first SUV by them, sure turn heads than common German ...
They stole many key employees from german brands. And if you look it is very close to Mercedes inside. The lines in tthe door, the position of screen and other features...the seats...it looks like MB
@@rafaelrp07 That's not stealing if the man from other brands consider jump ship by themselves. It's not like a Korean company criminally kidnapped some German best man lol. I mean that's always the case for everyone, ofc they also want to pursue further their career & if they get better offer, I mean why not. Also I've read somewhere that they're actually glad become part of Hyundai fam because it's a more open space for them to propose new, innovative ideas because they're building heritage within Hyundai unlike their previous workplace, which limited to tried and true formula ...
Yeah I cannot deny, there are some parts that seems familiar but not blindly copied alike for sure. They managed to get their slight variation & I mean the car, is exceptionally well built (judging from video here). Plus this happen to almost any brands now. One example is the recent 3 series taillight looks like Lexus IS. That's totally fine because although it look quite similar at a glance but the details make the difference.
Imitation is a form of flattery, wise man said. If they really are copied from the og design, pretty sure the lawsuit is coming to these "copycat". Anyway cheers mate ...
@japanwatchconnection I'd still buy it though. 😂😂😂😂😂
Kia’s vehicles have really come a long way from where they started
Joshua Daniel oh really? Do u acutally know someone that owns one or has had one or done some research? Dont let this guys fool you yes they are nice but they are still unreliable recall prones pos’s
@@gigi9467 Oh, Jesus, you taught us to love! Why do you display such a hate toward Korean cars??? You may want to check JD Powers, MT, Detroit auto show awards and so on. Why is it okay for Germans, Japanese and Americans to have recalls and Germans to lie about diesel emission. If Koreans cars are so unreliable, why are all the sales guys at Hyundai and Kia dealers are blacks and Latinos?? Is it because Latinos and Blacks can only able sell POS Korean Cars?? At least Koreans do hire people based on their ability. When you state a recall prone and POS claims, you may want to compare with industry standard. And take a look at All Korean cars crash test ratings, most of them are rated A+ .
Jesus, the name Kelly Blue Book, not reputable enough for you. Do you cry about everything in your life? Jesus=Love.
Paul Choe wow ur insulting and being racist at the same time lol, do a quick search and the biggest recall last year wer from kia and hyundai i would post it for u except this thing wont let me, no hate just the facts kia and hyundai are unreliable pos cars
Jesus, uhm, sorry to burst your bubble but I own a 2017 Sorento and haven’t got a single recall.
Love my 2014 Kia Optima lx with 103K miles! Absolutely no complaints at all!
Kia/Hyundai/Genesis put so much effort in every single one of their cars (even though they might not sell very well, like this K900), it's crazy! Others like Cadillac and their XT6, not so much.
I love my 2014 Kia Optima lx with 103K miles! Base model but doesnt feel like it at all! Yes you may be missing out on some options with the base model but is still comfortable and smooth riding. I even have 19 inch rims with quality tires of course and still rides smooth and quiet (might not have anything to do with what I said but wanted to put that out. It could be the tires themselves that retain the ride quality). Don’t be fooled by the later model Korean cars because they are way better than before unlike some other manufacturers
The Caddy hasn't even hit the road yet and it's "not so much", while the K900 is for...reasons, I guess.
Man, you fanboys are wild.
Skylar Wolfie
Yeah see, I would disagree with absolutely everything you just said. I mean compared to the BMW it's actually priced against? The CT6 was bigger inside, felt nicer everywhere I touched, and the seats were even more comfortable. That said, I haven't been in the latest 5 series so...
@@mak450 The CT6 is good, I meant the new XT6 revealed in Detroit with its lazy design, recycled XT4 interior, no super cruise etc. In comparaison, in the Aviator, you can see that they really put some effort there
Thew new 5 series, or the 5 series that was when the CT6 was new? Naturally you'd expect the new 5 series to be better, that's just how the market works.
Those headlights are mesmerizing
I love the tailights too
Test drove it twice already and absolutely loved it! This will be our next car!
The Kia K900 is a killer car, but beware, the fuel economy is below-average
'but $60,000 for a KIA?" are you buying a car or a badge? Ghibli is a Maserati but it's a shit car. badges shouldn't decide the price of a car.
Very good example... but pretty sad if you think about it.
timtime88 no but they are a part of the iconography and the Kia badge isn’t luxury but this car is ...it’s annoying.
Why is Ghibli a shit car?
@@Geebvs Panel gaps, low quality materials in interior, switchgear ripped from low end dodge vehicles, uses Chrysler infotainment system, lack of safety technology relative to competitors, and despite the "Ferrari built" engine, very disappointing performance numbers and handling.
thats correct👏👏
I've always said I feel there should be no hard plastic in a luxury car. None! Hyundai/Kia is killing it for 2019.
That's a very superficial view of luxury, but whatever floats your boat.
@@dsugioaga what are you going on about? I'm speaking about a luxury *car* as far as plastic materials. Why would you want the same cheap plastics in your luxury vehicle as a Honda or Toyota? Driving a luxury vehicle is all about the experience. Yet another teen who watches car reviews making arbitrary comments with no real understanding of the automotive world.
@@NA-du5vm You do realise that soft touch plastics are still plastics, right? I think features, comfort, ride and build quality are more defining of luxury than the occasional hard plastic surface. I do agree that everything you touch regularly should feel nice in a luxury car - but if the cup holder or door pocket is hard plastic, I don't really care. But that's just me. I'm not really a luxury car guy anyway.
@@dsugioaga did you even read my comment? I'm not even going any further..smh
@@NA-du5vm Yet another adult who thinks Hes smarter since he older.
I'm 23, and I absolutely love the look of that car. It's not an old man's car.
I never would have predicted that Kelly Blue Book would produce my favorite UA-cam channel, and yet, here we are.
KIA won't sell boatloads of the K900 in the US. But that's not especially important. It sells extremely well in its Korean home market and other nations in Asia where its K9 moniker doesn't prompt jokes about canines. And in the luxury segment where most vehicles are leased for three years or so, the K900 value pricing for a long term purchase is less important, especially for badge whores and others who judge the quality of a vehicle by the comments of their friends at the local country club.
Nevertheless, the K900 is a valuable asset for KIA in the US. It's a halo model sitting in dealer showrooms that shows off the quality and appeal of the brand when shoppers actually shop for less expensive vehicles. Like owning the least expensive house in an upscale neighborhood it improves customers' feelings about their purchases.
Furthermore, Hyundai/KIA have shown a genius for sharing components, engineering, and design while appealing to slightly different market segments. Feel a little queasy about buying a luxury car from KIA or Hyundai? No problem. There's that Genesis brand available that betrays almost nothing about its Korean heritage. And whether it's a Stinger, a K900 or one of several Genesis models, they're vehicles at least as Germanic as their rivals in almost every Important respect.
The K900 isn't the car for me and my family, as appealing as it is. My backseat is usually reserved for my teenage daughter who requires nothing more than USB charging capabilities and a large dog who is happy in any vehicle as long as he gets to go. But for those feel a car should reflect less about one's economic status and more about one's sense of actual value, it's a winner.
@Skylar Wolfie And much the same can be said of the KIA Forte. Appealing looks, most room in its class, and 40 highway MPG's.
This car is crazy impressive. Interior is better than any Cadillac or Lincoln while offering it for less. RWD based as all proper luxury cars should be. Just gorgeous inside and out. I hope they sell alot of these as it is well deserved. Great work
Best
People argue that it's still a Kia that it's going to break after the warranty, but it's the samething with German cars lol
What's the point of german cars having higher materials if they are built to be unreliable
So , what do you recommend?
@@aladdinabdelrahem6163 A Lexus lol
But the warranty is 10 years isn't it?
Thats the power of brand prestige. Kia just doesnt have any
What a pleasant, unbiased review of an impressive car. So many other reviewers would have been looking for faults because of its Korean lineage. Such a refreshing change. And what a car
...thanks again Micah...yet another thoroughly sharp, smart, humorous and enjoyable review ...
these are the best car vids on the internet. keep up the good work kbb
Best car reviewer ever. Informative and jokes so I won’t fall asleep.
One of my favorite reviewers. Great job Micah!
Cadillac needs to pay attention. If they included the refinement of this with the driving dynamics of the CTS they would have had a winner
Ugh I want one so bad. 😩
Drew Croft I would take a Lincoln
I want a K900 too, no Ford's tho....garbage
Jared Shelton Lincoln is better than Kia!
Skyforce 213 lol......
Haven't read fully what separates the new one from old but just saw some 2015/16 k900s yesterday going for ~$30k with only 6kmiles. They look nice and hope they do well but if I was in the market I'd look at the 1st gen cpo since they're so inexpensive vs the new.
Good review of the car. I like the production quality of the video. Good Job.
Just sat in this K900 tonight at the NAIAS and was blown away. The G90 and this K900 are definitely excellent quality cars (and interiors), overall.
The takeaway of the night...Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis are killing it (and their respective display areas were bustling).
Telluride, G70, Stinger, Palisade, etc.
Very impressed
I'm going there next week. Can't wait!
I've always been a fan of the K900, ever since the 1st gen debuted. Now they took what was already good to a whole different level. Good job KIA👌👏
it's flat out gorgeous especially the interior...one of the best "conservative" and clean interior today
That front end is gorgeous it actually grew on me 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I love your reviews!
Thanks. Great review 👍🏻
Kia has come a long way. Amazing vehicle. Btw if Micah Quits, I'm done watching KBB reviews. He's a walking comedian. I love his commentary.
It's amazing how Kia's 2016 K900 model's infotainment system was so advanced for it's time 🎉.
SOLID review of a very compelling luxury sedan!
Love how this game makes every car review fun
Super luxury car I love it great review mate
BTW, great video, a BIG thank you from Switzerland!!!
♡ It's perfect and worth every penny ♡
Thanks for the review.
The music score was just as good as the review!
Excellent review! But does it come wit a full sized spare wheel or a repair kit? 🤔
The soft part on the door you asked "why'd the do that" appears to be functionally involved in aiding the weathre stripping to keep the interior quiet.
Another great video! thanks!
Dude I subscribed to this channel just for you you are the Best
Edward Jackson Awesome. Thanks for keeping me in a job!
Great review!
What’s the song name? Also the LED lights look awesome, I just wish the front grille looked better.
Nice. Would be great to see a detailed comparison between this and the 2020 Genesis G90.
I used to feel bad that the VW Phaeton has basically gone out of sale in North America because it was basically the fall of the stealth luxury car: all of the features, none of the shouting.
I'm really glad that Kia and Hyundai are basically bringing this concept back.
Yeah, you're an all-star!!!
i remember that episode of top gear were they drove a new KIA Rio and it couldn't climb up a hill. in fact it started sliding back down again (full throttle) they 100% have come a long way since the early to mid 2000's
I love my Kia K900 luxury 2019
This is a beautiful car. If ever in the market for a sedan, this will definitely be a choice for me.
Beautiful car. I think it’s worth it’s price as compared to competitors crazy 80k for same price. 100,00 and 10 yr warranty is amazing
I really like the royalty-free music at the end. If you created that, good job. I also really like this car. I'm considering this, the Stinger, or the Volvo S60 or S90 as my next car! What do you guys think?
I used to work at a Kia dealer when the first gen K900's came out. They're outright nice cars, not just nice for the price, or nice for a Kia. They were just nice, I would happily drive one around. The depreciation hits you hard though, jaguar hard.
That's every kia/hyundai product. Resale value is shit
Does this offer better value over the E class though?
I have to admit Micah that I am very impressed with this K900. All I can think of is WHY doesn’t Lincoln make a car like this? I think the interior is very impressive and the camera’s sent to the dash when signaling is very cool.
How would you go about debadging the steering wheel
Looks awesome and well equipped. Wish it came to Australia :(
You woefully failed to mention it's built on the modified Stinger platform. The previous model was built on the Hyundai Genesis platform.
I have a question for you, and the question is somewhere I ? can buy that car, I just have to have a Kia K900 it look absolutely gorgeous with its delicious shapes.
Just found out not all dealerships sell this. My local dealership said they don't have a 'license' from Kia to sell the K900.
Seems silly...
I drove one of these last week and i can affirm that this car is money.. A+
Can we get the soundtarck please?
I'd love to get one of these!😍
7:29 Beautiful lively motivational music loop. Anyone knows the music title?
7.26 which is that song? Btw love the car, Kia has been killing it..!
Interesting he compared this to the midsized luxury competition. This car is much closer in size to the full sized luxo boxes from Europe. It also outshines any of those mid sizers on the interior, including the E Class. This is just a fantastic car. Period.
Best host in the world ima go ahead and boost ya damn ego miko, you deserve it man haha
welldone kia....u nailed ittt....my concept is luxury is to be experiences by me..not for showing of everybody😎..this is it
This car has tons of Easter Egg functions. One of them is that it automatically rolls up your window and set the a/c on air clean recirculating mode, as the car is approaching a tunnel.
I 😍 those headlights good job on the design Kia
Elegant, very well done Kia.
The K9/K900 is pretty conservative in design but has a simplicity that's almost scandinavian. And as always is fighting with the 5/E/A6 series on price while providing 7/S/A8 size. I'd say that even though they market it as a German sedan competitor Kia's best products are just awesome alternatives for Buicks, Acuras and Infinities. Much better car for a similar price.
"...a simplicity that's almost scandinavian..." Very well put.
They truly put work into that interior. Sadly, can’t say the same of Acura’s RLX sedans and Infiniti
Very well done KIA, impressive car. I wonder why they don’t have a sister brand exclusively for luxury like Lexus, Acura, Infiniti, Genesis etc.
Kia don't need a luxury brand.
Genesis = luxury
Kia = near luxury
Hyundai = mainstream
In my eyes, Kia has officially replaced VW and Buick as a near luxury brand. The only car brand that's trying to moved up to near luxury is Mazda.
I think you answered your own question. Hyundai has Genesis; Kia doesn't have to. A separate luxury brand requires a huge long term investment with highly uncertain results. Hyundai/KIA has done an awesome job of designing/engineering vehicles that appeal to separate sub-segments of the market with shared components (G70 and Stinger; Sorento and Santa Fe; Telluride and Palisade.) Luxury vehicles are a different ballgame with much smaller markets to divide.
The K900 is a special car it feels and looks like a special luxury car that happens to have a KIA badge on it it’s not just a Kia anymore it’s a special Kia
That car might need therapy after all that soft surface fondling
Just kidding I Love KBB vids and Micah always makes great videos. One of my favorite channels
Very nice vehicle. Will be looking at one when I'm ready to replace my Equus.
More expensive option may offer more quality and options, but it isn't worth the price difference, especially when factoring in maintenance and mechanical reliability.
It's a Genestinger!
I like it. Should be crazy awesome value used.
doug should make a video about the 2nd gen k900
Now that is one beautiful looking car 👌👌👌
Do these have Apple car play ?
I think Genesis and Kia should work together. G80 has nice exterior and k900 has amazing interior. combining those 2 would be godly
Not bad..... I might get this for my 1st car this year
He needs his own channel

I think the real question is, Who would put a light bar on a Honda Pilot?
2012 Kia Optima 2.0 SX --> 2015 Hyundai Genesis Ultimate 3.8 AWD --> 2019 Kia K900 VIP (for the gauges). This is my wish.
Can’t deny that Hyundai/Kia provide best infotainment sys~!!!
Kbb's Pilot is so badass!
Im definitely getting it 😇
Man I cant wait to buy these after 2 or 3 years. Used
The K900 doesn’t have a V8 option? It’s definitely a nice car. The front end styling isn’t the best IMO, but overall a nice car.
Very nice luxury sedan indeed. Gives Lincoln, Lexus, Acura, and Infiniti a run for all their collective monies. In about 24-36 months, this will be great CPO purchase for about 30k.
Love this car
dude what track were you playing in the car? awesome driving around music
hamanahamanahamana Remember the section around 7 minutes about my soundcloud? That’s real. I write all the music in KBB videos.
@@MicahMuzio could you tell me the name of the song? I can't seem to find it in your soundcloud account. Thanks in advance
Duarte Castelo Branco The two songs used in this video were “3 3 17 Zone” and “9 18 18 Stroll”. Search SoundCloud and they’ll pop right up.
@@MicahMuzio checked your soundcloud. i now have a new playlist in my car. thats good stuff
hamanahamanahamana Very kind of you to say. Cheers!!
That k900 looks stunning. But of course resale value leaves a bit to be desired. So I’d take it used. Plus my only other complaint is disappointing fuel economy on the TT v6.
How far has KIA come in my opinion?
Well, years ago after a catastrophic engine failure to a first gen Sportage at only 60,000 miles I vowed to never buy another KIA... today, I would take that K900 over ever single car he named as its competitors.
That’s how far KIA has come to me...
Body style reminds me of a late 2010 or so LS460 meeting a Benz s class
The KIA badge should've been in the middle of the grill and the grill should've been attached to the hood.
I own a 2018 BMW 530X Drive and I’m seriously considering selling it and picking up one of these cars
What a great car i really want to tell anyone to buy it but i dont know who needs one😔😔
