My very first sewing machine that belonged to me ( not my Momma LOL) was a 1975 Bernina 830 Record. I still have her and use her a lot. Bernina is my trophy sewing machine of all! :)
Joy I enjoy your videos so much it's like you are in my home having a friendly chat. I to have the 930 also I bought it in 1986 and still is going strong! Thank you for being you! God bless you my friend.
I still use my Bernina 930 that I bought when I was about 29 years old. Now I'm in my 60s. I have a new machine, but my 930 Bernina I use the most. It is a workhorse and I've had no problems with it ever. So good to know people still use it.
Oh Joy!!! LOL You make my day. Your trees are fantastic right down to the stem/trunk. Today, I finished my Christmas Tree wall hanging...I put the gold star on top. Now I have to find a wall to hang it on. Wish I could show you. I am very proud of it. I always look forward to your videos.
Joy, Your trees look so nice. As you show them, I'm imagining the quilting designs you do. You are such a great finisher of your quilts. It has been so nice to watch you this evening. thanks.
Please warn in advance when the chat will take place. Looking forward to it. You are so right about the quality of older equipment. I use Husqvarna Viking. My old one ( no computer) is heavy duty and all metal, the newer one is half or more plastic. We recently had a new dishwasher delivered and installed. The broken one lasted for 17 years." Don't expect the same from the new one " said the technician, though it is a top quality brand. I am not saying that everything in the past was better, but things are made now to last much less so that we keep buying new ones. Same with fabrics. I have coloured tee shirts and blouses bought 35 years ago still with bright colours and still fitting me. New ones I made a few years ago are now for house cleaning activities only. I like your roses top. This neckline becomes you.
Definitely agree about the boxes! My 1980 bernina 830 has a beautiful red, hard plastic accessory box, my new bernina has a soft sided box with a zipper that doesn't hold much and won't stay open. Love that tree motif...so pretty.
I inherited a 930 record machine from a family member I had it checked out and some of the features are broken but it straight sews wonderful! I’m happy to have it as a second machine. You are right it is a work horse!
Love your channel. We know what you are saying. Stem or trunk we know what you are saying. We automatically translate. Most if us have that skill. It is like someone standing in the same conversation circle and correcting every word you say. Eventually you stop talking when that person is around you. Ugh! But, fortunately this is your channel and you get to say what you want and how you want. I totally understand 6 quilts in various stages of completion. I know I get bored working only on one quilt at a time, especially piecing. I have 3 specific dresses I need to make for a formal wedding coming up in mid-march to also include a huge King Size quilt as a wedding gift that I am piecing right now. I need to practice putting an invisible zipper in a formal gown. That will be fun as I have never put in an invisible zipper in my life. I have tons and tons of projects but that keeps me from being bored with one project at a time. 7 completed quilt tops I need to get on my long arm. But, not in a hurry for those. Have fun the rest of this year, Merry Christmas and a happy, safe and prosperous New Year.
I bought my first Bernina 930 on eBay from a sewing shop in Oklahoma City--I think it had a "bee" in its name. You might know of it. I wanted a sewing desk for it, and found one on FB Marketplace--that had a 2nd 930 inside and came with all sorts of notions, thread, scissors etc. So now I have 2. I figure keep them both in case I need to replace a part. You're right, they are heavy, very durable and real workhorses!
I have an Ellisimo Gold 2 and I can make it sew all the first color first and all the second color last. That way there is only one thread change. I am sure you could do it on your Solaris.
You could NOT do it with the font I was working with. Works with everything else I've ever done, but the way the font was made, it would not allow it. It would have been 24 thread changes instead of one. Ugh.
I stumble over words too. Half the time I don't realize it when editing I'll watch my video and think, I'm sure they know what I meant! Lol that's soo exciting Judi is going to interview you! You will do just fine😊❤ your trees look great! I have a habit of not finishing things too. Mine is my ADD lol btw I saw your shine video earlier I'm soo happy you made it to church!❤ great pictures! & yes I'm the same way with customer service. I was in customer service before I felt it was an honor to help someone!😊 you can read the ADD😂🤣
Hi Joy, I didn’t quite hear the software you were using, but think it was Art and Stitch as it is German made. If it was, there is a lady here in US that teaches it. Marilyn Strowmatt of KK’s Quilt and Design Studio.
I really like your tree quilt!! You were naming off the quilts that you have started, but, did you mention the one for Viv? I might start one after the holidays. Happy quilting!!
@@charlottevilla7931 Another note: I prefer babylock sergers and embroidery machines; however, I hear the new Bernina serger is amazing. For sewing, the Bernina wins all races.
I just got the new Bernina L890 serger. I also own the Baby Lock ovation. They are both fabulous, but the Bernina wins hands down. I’m keeping the ovation also. I am so spoiled.
Just love you. I’m surprised to hear you won’t get the vaccine with a pharmacist for a hubby’! BTW, people who deal with thyroid issues may have a damaged nerve that connects to the vocal chords. If that nerve is damaged or hurt in any way it can cause that voice you mentioned or it could be from heavy smoking. Either way it’s a hardship for those that are affected.
Thank you Joy for sharing you time with us today. Pretty trees!🤗
Loved the chat today Joy! It’s like having a friend in my sewing room!😊
Joy, just love you. You make me laugh. You will be awesome as a guest with Judy. Can't wait to see it. Am so happy your vaca was great.

Joy, that is the same machine I have. I inherited it from my mil left me. I have a real want for an embroidery machine but not much moola. Love you.
Love you Joy.

The Christmas trees are just lovely. I like how that table slides in & out.
Yes Victoria. The table is why we chose this RV. Works perfectly for my sewing projects.
What a lovely compliment you’ve been given.
Glad you had a good holiday!! Your trees look fabulous!!
Stem or trunk is correct. My husband was in forestry.
hooray! I am always excited to see a video from you! Hoping you had a wonderful holiday with your sweet great grandbaby :)

Wow Sharon! I think I'll keep my schedule and be glad it isn't as full as yours. Would love to see the wedding quilt. What a grand and lovely gift!
Nice video. Really enjoyed it.
Love the trees
Nice to see a new post, Miss Joy!
I have a 930 but i love love love sewing on my 880.

My workhorse machines are my 2 Bernina 1130s. I love them so much more than my Artista 730 embroidery machine. Long story there.
HI Joy!! Greetings from Dorset UK...

I have same issues with bubbles. I can’t drink thru a straw due to air intake while drinking and makes zillion of bubbles.

It is Artista Designer Plus by Bernina.

Yes, the KITTY quilt is for Viv.
Joy, What brand is your favorite sewing machine and why? Please give me details...Thanks in advance!!!
Bernina. I have only used three brands. I cannot tell you about any others.
Thanks for your reply Joy. I also have a bernina but want an upgrade!!

😉🤔it might be because her hubby is a pharmacist that she's not getting the poke. I know several pharmacists and medical people who've refused it.
@@naptimeseamstress I agree!
@@naptimeseamstress That is correct information.
Is that a pioneer woman tumbler? Looks like the one I have.
Hi Joy, what's the name of the Xmas pattern?
