The tool for pressing and smoothing paper over a surface is called a baren. I use an empty lotion jar; your alabaster candle holder works perfectly! I love this technique, can't wait to try it!
This is a great technique and makes me look at my stamps and dies a different way! I have lots of vellum and am definitely going to try this! Thank you so much!!!
Great technique, Chrissie! I love that background stamp for this look, too. So is there no need to heat set the dye ink you put on the back side? I have seen other crafters use regular dye ink on vellum, but they generally either heat set it with a heat gun or, if they were ink blending, wiped off the excess with a dry cloth. Just curious. I'll have to try & remember to give this a try anyway. Thanks for sharing. Take care, & have an awesome day! :)
I am wondering, too, about setting the dye ink on the back. My experience with stamping on vellum has been that dye ink doesn't dry on the vellum on its own. I find that it has to be heat-set, or use embossing powder to retain the design.
Now that’s clever. Thank you 😊
So brilliant! An elegant technique!
🤩Think it's time to go to my craft room and experiment. Thanks for the tutorial.
Such a beautiful technique..thanks so much for sharing
Regards the gizmo, my term for it is 'waste of money'! like you, I found a free alternative.
ha ha. I use a dry erase board eraser, which I found on sale at Staples for about $2.50.

Ooooo. I like this double stamping on vellum. Very very delicate plus it does give you a place to put your adhesive! Brilliant!

Love this technique but may I ask what brand of vellum do you use? My vellum warped when I did the technique. Thank you
Beautiful! Do you recall the name of the SSS leave stamp?
It is Cover-a-Card (CAC) Rose Leaves by Impression Obsession.
Thank you
