      In simple terms, T statistics is a cut off value to assess whether or not a particular hypothesis is supported or not. Greater than 1.96 for a two tailed test shows hypothesis is supported.

    Best explanation of Explaining and reporting Regression I have seen so far, it was really very helpful, my coursework is due in a few days and was struggling to interpret data and reporting it. I still have a question, I have precieved stress as DV and 3 IVs which are, coping styles, Personality and Social Support, the coping style has subcategories as avoidant, emotional foccused and problem foccused, similarly personality has 5 subcategories, I have put all these subcategories separately while running the regression Analysis, so Altogether my list of IVs has become 9. And I am running multiple regression ofcourse. So, my question here is, do I need to compute sum of all subcategories into one like for personality, the sum of all 5 subcategories into one and similarly for coping, sum of all three categories into 1. Kind regards.

    • @researchwithfawad
      @researchwithfawad  3 роки тому +3

      First, thanks for your appreciation. I am glad the video helped.
      As for transforming Personality, I would say No, Some variables with sub-categories may be transformed because the sub-categories are very much alike and highly correlated. for Personality, different personalities are far apart from each other and hence, in my opinion that should be kept and analyzed separately.

      Yes, if you plan to only use SPSS, you will have to perform separate analysis. However, for such model in modern research SEM tools like AMOS or SmartPLS are preferred.

      A negative beta means negative relationship between the two variables. This means an increase in one results in decrease in the other.

    I have been digesting your trainings for some days now and they are quite helpful.
    I need guidance on my research.
    The dependent variable has 16 factors while the independent has 22 factors. How do I go about running regression on this.
    Do I sum up the factors in the dependent variable to one(using the computer function on SPSS) or what do you suggest.
    Also do I need to categorize the independent variable using factor analysis first (so I can then sum up the variables In each category) before I carry out the regression.
    Or how best can I go about this scenerio?
